  1. The AFL would never dare to tango with us. Oh, i dont believe i just said that.
  2. Anyone for Sam Swadling: Sam Swadling (West Perth)Fellow Falcon Swadling put his name on the map earlier this season when he amassed 187 disposals in a five-game WAFL Colts stretch heading into the National Championships. The 187cm midfielder spent most of last season playing as a forward in an older West Perth side and he booted 15 goals from 16 games. Upon elevation to a full-time midfield role this season he established himself as the competition’s best ball winner, and he took prolific talent into the State Championships where he, along with teammate Farrow, earned AFL U18 All-Australian honours for his performances across the carnival. Just like Farrow, he was also awarded a WAFL League debut by West Perth against the Eagles in round 14 and he then won 45 disposals across the next two weeks against East Perth and Subiaco, proving he could find plenty of the ball at all levels. Swaddling and Farrow will return to the Falcons’ Colts side for the last round of the season ahead of an all-important clash with East Fremantle that they likely need to win if they are to feature in finals football.
  3. The rumors have usually started by now. Bit late this season and its terribly hard to deal with - withdrawals. Seriously the AFL should make rumors compulsory.
  4. Our forward line has been our Achilles heel. Despite premeirship mids delivering we could not get it right. Missing - One big KFP ala BBB. Kosi will go into the mid after as 'clean out' so a speedy pressure forward is needed. Could create havoc when Kosi drifts forward. Where do we get the big BBB type KPF? Do we already have one? Has the game passed big KFP's by - doubt it. Depending on how we rate our current young KPFs and Schubert he may well be seriously considered especially if part of the forward revamp includes sending Petty back. Melks probably last year and Fritter may get some hard to match offers.
  5. Not sure on the selection here. Depends how we rate our existing young KPFs and how we rate him. The 5 person interchange gives us an extra forward ruck him and JVR as a 2nd ruck. Now listed as 198cm may grows a tad more. Depends to some extent whether King wants a fresh forward look. Kosi mainly mid dropping forward, Dovestan to move into a forward role. Petty to go back and maybe Schubert to play that extra tall crash agile KPF/ruck? Has all the right plusses except rookie me suggest composure needs improvement. In the end it will probably be where we rate him in the draft and how we rate our up and comer KPF's. We have 2, 1st rounders next year. It also depends to some smaller extent what is available 1st round next year. With outrageous money being paid to bring a good player in probably best not to pinch a proven KPF/ruck from another club. No way we could afford to pay a De Koning type salary. I am not ruling him out.
  6. I would take that. HF/mid and HB/mid. We may look at trading our GC F1 for Pickett? Maybe our 37 in the mix??
  7. I think there a few good players around our picks. Windsor was raked 13/14 in phantoms 2 weeks prior to his draft. JT will not be worried about a 'reach' if its for the right players. Not ruling out pick and futures swaps, order changes. Anything can happen.
  8. If the plan is to move Petty into defense down the track play 3 talls forward then if Schubert is regarded as a potential gun then they may select well him. Odds are against that both Jeffo and Kentfield will both be very good AFL KPF's. Could be seen as bit of lack of faith in our developing KPF's at Casey but KPF's are so hard to get. Is getting Steele a lack of faith in our Casey mids - probably not entirely. Medium Marking forwards in Melks may be in his last season and Fritter is a FA at the end of 2026. Mcadam may be let go?
  9. Fox Sports‘Love collecting them’: AFL draft gem Jacob Farrow’s coll...‘Love collecting them’: AFL draft gem’s epic hobby… and how he surged into top-10 mix
  10. The club recruiters do not always rank players the same as the 'experts'. A month before Windsor's draft he was ranked around 13/14 ish by the experts. I think Jacob Farrow would be a good pick up. Good size, Got plenty of ball in the WAFL Colts and also got a lot in his senior WAFL games. Rookie me compares him to Young of Freo. Has mid potential later. See rookie me - profile and analysis looks good. Jacob Farrow Draft Profile - Aussie Rules Rookie Me Central (formerly AFL Draft Central) If we are worried about Fritter leaving Mitch Marsh as a 3rd tall might be a good pick up if available. Mitchell Marsh Draft Profile - Aussie Rules Rookie Me Central (formerly AFL Draft Central) If we want small forward pace, skill and pressure Dovestan might well be considered. Experts suggest it might be a reach but recruiters may not agree. Needs a bit of bulk but has mid potential later. Certainly not a 'bland' or vanilla type of player. Lachy Dovaston Draft Profile - Aussie Rules Rookie Me Central (formerly AFL Draft Central) Kingy wants to play fast, high scoring footy so he needs pace and a bit of X factor amongst endurance pressure etc. At our picks we should be looking for players with a point of difference. I doudt we will look to draft a very tall KPF but the best one could be available at our picks. Aidan Schubert Draft Profile - Aussie Rules Rookie Me Central (formerly AFL Draft Central)
  11. For some perspective its only been the last few years that we have seen Northern Academy players (not FS) feature in the top 5 or 10 draft picks. So our picks are the 'old school' draft Southern states and WA players. There are some pretty good prospects at picks 7 and 8 in the open draft. Get on X to check out expert rankings and the open draft posistions/ranking. Mr. Snrub on X: "Updated #AFLDraft Power Rankings post combine with @Jasperc53 and @zerohanger updates today. 12. Obviously bought in as a tough nut mid to work in tandem with Vines. Good m ove Dees. Will compliment our young quicker mids very well.
  13. Its about renewing our list before Tassie comes in. Its sad to see Tracc and Oliver go but four 1st rounders over the previous 2 years and another 2 this year is a big part of the renewal.
  14. It all depends on who wants Tracc the most or the least- the Dees or GC. If GC are desperate to get Tracc and do not want to lose Humphrey they may have to bite the bullet and give their 2nd rated player Patterson a miss (he could go around pick 5). Something has to give. Who knows they may get lucky and see lower than expected bids. Hardwick knows it will be very tough to get to a prelim without a player like Tracc added to the team. I would want to keep pick 24. Its valuable as its the 1st pick of the 2nd round on draft night 2. Some seemingly pretty good kids around picks 7/8. See open draft ranks with expert rankings listed below. Found this on X.
  15. I think we will chase 3 firsts including a future (GC likely will not have a top 15 or 20 prospect in next years draft) and give a bit back for points for GC. GC will also pick up points from other players leaving. I cant see GC getting to a prelim next season without a player like Tracc and Hardwick knows this and will push his list management to make this trade happen.
  16. I would ask for pick 13 = 1080 points and maybe give them one if our 2nd rounders. Net points differential puts cost for GWS as a pick in the mid/late 20's. Eg our pick 27 = 533 points. Net cost to GWS = 547 points = pick 26/27.
  17. I just accept Clarry is off. Ita all about what we get and what we have accumulated at the end of the trade period.
  18. How much are AFL players paid? Average salary, amount of million dollar players, gross payments | Sporting News Australia " For AFL players in 2024 who have played at least one senior match, the average salary was $493,592 - a rise from the amount of $476,215 in 2023." Salary for 2025 for a player who has played at least 1 game will be a fair bit more than 2024. GWS are getting a bargain priced (after we kick in $$$) ready made player in a time of need.
  19. Pick 23 and 27 combined points adds to pick 12 . With the Oliver pick and Spargs pick we will likely try to trade up. Hopefully we get a nice bounty for Tracc. Any interest in Jake Rogers as the steak knife's in the Tracc trade?
  20. The fact is we struggled as a team on field with Clarry and Tracc. Some good games especially by Tracc (B&F runner up) but we lost 6 close ish games so where are our match winners? Who? Can't blame the club for moving on so many players. Time for our young players to come on and new draftees to be introduced.
  21. I doubt they will let Humpfrey go. We should get the Flanders pick 7 plus either their F1 or pick 17. GC will get some good pick points from Fiorini and 1 or 2 others that leave. They lose Flanders, Fiorini and 1 or 2 others then they desperately need Tracc. They need a step up next year so get Tracc is a must and keep Humprey is a must.
  22. We were not winning games with Oliver and Tracc. Spargs was injured and when fit rarely picked. Clearly time to move on. McVee a real loss. GWS has Kelly with a dodgy hip expected to miss a fair wack of 2026 and Colniglio injury prone. So yep they would be very interested. I agree with adonski. If we up up to 50% of salary then a 1st should come backto us.
  23. We will push for pick 6 and 13. GC get pick 7 for Flanders plus they have another couple of players leaving which will get them picks for points. We can give them back pick 23 or Spargs pick which is tipped to be after our 2nd round or end 2nd round. GC will push for picks 7 and 16 for Tracc and pick 23 plus Spargs pick. Other loose change including futures may be thrown around. We still have McVee's picks which may involve futures. Given he is only 22 plus 2 top 10 B & F finishes Freo's 1st or future 1st with a little loose change back sounds ok.
  24. Cornes just stirring up media talk. Clearly Tracc worth more and we will get more.
  25. If we did not have the long term deal with Tracc and he was out of contract we would be screwed.
