CASEY: Practice Match vs Port Melbourne
Hawkins took around 4 or 5 seasons to really make it. Gawn although a ruckman took 4 or 5 also. JVR is an exception to the rule. No many can do what he did at that age. Comparisons are unfair. Jeffersen needs at least another preseason under his belt. Given our number of tall forwards at Casey its good to give Jeffersen a go down back. As Einstein said the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over expecting a different result. You just have to mix things up a bit.

CASEY: Practice Match vs Carlton
Yep, good pick up. Technically Jack is not in the bull category he is in the full on raging bull category lol. With 4 bulls who all can play to a high level...... no ceiling.

CASEY: Practice Match vs Carlton
Lets hope Kolt and Sestan make the grade. With Trac that would be 3 bulls in the team.

CASEY: Practice Match vs Carlton
The Dee's should be a little smarter. Demonland (DL) has a fair few 'readers' and posters. The Dee's should use DL to compliment (not relace just assist reach members/suppporters) for their communication and a little marketing. For example seats should be made available for DL updates at practice games. TheRE should be some access to players and staff for interviews during the year and after some games. Plenty of other things could be arranged. Its almost like a business who has access to a fair sized growing Data base nearby and does not use it. A good business would not let this happen. If the Dee's want an edge here it is - right under their noses. It would not be hard for the MFC to join forces and build Demonland in a real Dee's Army. My opinion only. Lets face it red hot suppoerters cant get enough Dee's information

NON-MFC: Match SIMs
I do not support banning the bump but as long as the hit is on body and not the head. Also if the player could have tackled but elects to bump the body and the player is knocked out when his head hit the ground that should be a report. Pepper Powel will be suspended for sure. His arms were tucked in in the bump/hit position when he charged in so there was no intention to tackle at all. He elected to bump. That is obvious. Should get 4 to 6 weeks. It reminded me of the days when Brereton used to line players up and whammo - it was legal in those days and i believe its also not an historic offence.

NON-MFC: Match SIMs
He is playing at the elite level where split second decisions are what you are paid to make. He had time to tuck his shoulder in at full pace before hitting the player. Was he blindly running full pace at the pack not without care who he hit? There is no chance he will get off. Head high these days the assumption is guilt (except for Maynard).

Chose to bump, head hit so he is gone.

PREGAME: Practice Match vs Carlton
Good. Means Brown plays for sure. He kicked a couple against the Tigers. We have trouble kicking goals so he stays in. Apart from that Brown is more of a good reader of the play type rather than an opportunist. So he seems to be in the play a fair bit. He is quick, can tackle and evasive. Windsor plays as well.

Where will the Dees finish after round 24?
I have no idea where we will finish. I never get these things right. Given the state of our list with injuries etc we would need a lucky run for the rest of the season and McAdam and Billings to star. A couple of young players step up like McVee last year and with luck we might finish in the 8.

POSTGAME: Match SIM vs Richmond
Oliver, Brayshaw and Salem in and we woukd have been a little more competitive and likely taken the points. Also depth like Spargo, Woey and AMW out. Our real problem is our 2nd ruck/tall forward. With Fullarton out cant answer that question. No one to get the ball to ground. BBB's knee may not hold the season.. TMc can play but he is not the 198 /200 cm tall which we lack. Bit early to write us off yet unless we get long term injuries to our guns. Pup Brown looks to be a long term player. Quick, evasive, tackles well and can kick a goal. May play mostly Casey this season but he is AFL quality. Windsor looks a long term player as well. Hope Yze steps up a level or 2 at the Chargers this season. He could be a good F/S. The ground was in awesome condition and no wind today.

Welcome to Demonland: Caleb Windsor
That is true. The Zones were meant to be rotated but the bigger clubs with productive Zones and plenty of cash kicked up and rotation was canned. Our Zone was not productive. Part of it was in SA.

Gee No. 6 looks good. Had to look up the player numbers on the MFC website. Its Windsor.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Monday 29th January 2024
With Grundy gone, Fullerton, BBB and Petty injured Schache has a sniff. Plus Smith out who often plays forward. No excuses for not training full on and more. So its JVR, TMc, Schache options for tall forward and ruck relief. Jefferson is an option but maybe not ready yet? Looks like we will rely on Fritsch and McAdam to fire up. Track may have to play mainly on ball? Looking thin on for Forward talls.

2024 Preseason Training Thread
I think if Petty, Fritta, Kosi and JVR are fit and in form delivery forward will improve immediately. Those players have huge talent and have good leading patterns and positioning.

2023 Player Reviews: #38 Oliver Sestan
Looks like he has talent, power and strength. Needs another season at Casey building fitness and preparing for senior level. Never know he may surprise us this year. Judd McVee did last year and maybe someone will surprise this year.
