I'd keep them both and work out an innovative way to get Hurley and Hibberd. Just remember that the Prestia rumour has been around longer than the Hurley one and last weekend's round might just have convinced his management that the touted Richmond option is de-railing their client's future success. If you want to swap players, give them Dunn and Garland, not our developing youth.

Sam MaClure- "Hibberd to Melbourne, 4 year deal"
CBDees replied to Rod Grinter Riot Squad's topic in Melbourne Demons
Seems he knows where to find the goals also! -
Leading goal kicker yesterday along with Watts might be just one reason. Vanders and Watts were our only multiple goal kickers with 3.2 each. If Vanders hadn't played we would have lost to the Suns! Him and Watts each kicked three times the score of our only other (three) solo goal kickers.

Mark Basics [edit: resurrected from 2013]
CBDees replied to Straight Sets Simon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I winced watching those passages of play, especially the Kent sideways kick away from the goals. -
Stuie, I was not contemplating Prestia over Rance, just suggesting that we play the trades so that we get a good key defender and can get Prestia as well (especially as I suspect that the odds on him going to Richmond have now somewhat lengthened)!
-
My thoughts are that: 1) we might be able to secure Hurley for minimum expenditure (as an outcome of Essedrug); 2) l am hopeful that Hogan and TMac will both stay (meaning we won't secure a first round pick for them) and 3) we might need trade collateral to secure Prestia from the GCSuns ( as he couldn't possibly entertain RichmondFC after yesterday's performance)!
-
Nice to see the young McDonald receiving a few votes. He seems to have taken over Watts and Grimes role as the whipping boy this year.
-
I am just as happy to get Hurley and Hibberd (especially if we can swing something regarding their breach of contract with Essedrug). I am one who suspects that Hogan and TMac will both re-sign.
-
Don't mind your (revised) selections however I would have Kennedy in lieu of Grimes if we are to replace Garlett.
-
6. Watts 5. Vanders 4. Gawn 3. Frost 2. TMac 1. Petracca

You are joking! In para 1) you suggest he should be looking elsewhere and in para 2) you say that he played ok last week. Do you really think all players who miss selection should sulk and head to other clubs?

After reading through 66 posts of this "training" thread, it seems that only the original poster (Pitmaster) had actually been to the session and posted his observations. Couldn't somebody have started a goal-kicking thread? Good original post by the way.

Three of which we lost!

MFC 2016 Membership - Record Broken. Next stop: 40,000
CBDees replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
Can we add the 500 Foundation members to this year's total? -
We seemed to jettison bad boys like Owen pretty quickly in those days (notwithstanding that he had a couple of five goal hauls in his year with us). The 'bad boy' that I regret that we didn't persevere with though was Martin Pike.
-
The difference between Sandy and Casey is that our game plans are more integrated now (e.g. The MFC pays the salary of Plapp and has more control).
-
Great reward for guys like Terlich (BOG and 4 goals last Saturday) who have continued to play their hearts out since being dropped to Casey even though they know that they are highly unlikely to be recalled to the Dees during their career. Also great for Weeds and Hulett to have finals experience in a senior comp. It will be great for morale overall to have (what are our effectively our seconds and thirds) end the season with Premierships in both the VFL and the Development League. Nice also for the coaching careers of Plapp, Cross etc. and as a vindification of our whole development structure.
-
Brad Miller would always lead well and take good marks but on most occasions he seemed to then try and pass it off as he didn't have the confidence to line up for goals himself. To me he also had unrealised potential.
-
I also are not sure what is achieved by replacing Dawes with Pederson. If Pedo gets a run, it should be for OMac on the backline as, it is the GC Forwardline (and its three towers) that we we should be focussed on countering. TMac and Frost need a third tall down there to help them. Our Forwardline will be okay as it is unlikely that Watts and Hogan will go goalless for two weeks in a row.
-
Do you really think that picking up TMac with our fourth pick at pick 53 was a display of strategic insight? To me it was a random bit of luck considering he had just picked up (the highly-rated?) Troy Davis at pick 50, three selections earlier!
-
In the long term you are wrong however Parish is no slouch and would also look good in our side. Maybe they can throw him in as steak knives when we trade Terlich for Hurley and Hibberd?

Any final result for the DL? (And how did JKH and Salem go?)

How are JKH and Salem going in the DL game?

What's happening in the Development League?
