I'm predicting Trenners will be back next year and surprise many! He was always better than $cully on a number of fronts and next year he will surprise the pundits (as $cully has finally done this year)!
-
I like the percentage that we ended up with this year! ??
-
Hopefully we will see Trenners vying with Oliver to be BOG in Casey's VFL Premiership! ?
-
We could even finish twelfth if Collingwood beat Hawthorn (they have led at every change to date)!
-
Add to that, the re-signing of Trenners. I just get a feeling that he will have a great pre-season and be a key component in our best 22 next year (blitzing $cully)! That is after getting BOG in Casey's Premiership!
-
And Oliver is now playing Finals after today!

Very pleased to see Trenners retained. He has been blitzing it at Casey this year and it would be great if he can cement a spot with the Dees in 2017 (after a full pre-season)! In an ideal scenario, he finishes ahead of $cully in next year's Brownlow count!

What's Newton doing playing back in the Development League? (Also I like the Scorp's centre line!)

Maybe you should vote in your own survey!

Grimes and Trengove future rests with Goodwin
CBDees replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Frankly, the best thing to do is bring Trenners in this week and then use his performance (or otherwise) as the basis for the decision. I think that Goodwin will be pleasantly surprised and act accordingly. We would be silly to offload a number two draft pick without giving him the chance to prove that he still has it at the highest level! -
At least I was making a serious suggestion !

Dawes and a fourth round pick for Hibberd and their second round pick!
-
Love to see Jack Trengrove get a run. He is consistently amongst the best at Casey. Last weekend> 29 disposals, 15 kicks, 14 handballs, 5 marks, 9 tackles, 2 hit-outs!
-
An astute summary which should be read by the Football Department as well as all Demonlanders.

We didn't really deserve to win today the way we played. Our selections were wrong (e.g. Weideman with 7 disposals), we had far too many turnovers and the team didn't play with the urgency of a team that needed to win by ten goals to mathematically scrape into the finals. Despite that, nor did Carlton deserve to win with twenty free kicks to our five, somewhat undermining the integrity (if there is such a word in AFL football) of their victory.
-
Today we played "away", starting as outright favourites against a team who had lost their last eight games. Despite being at the "G", we had to endure wearing an "away" jumper and many of our barrackers (c.f. Supporters) strolled along for their first game of the year and had to suffer Carlton's American-style on-ground entertainment for their "Grand Final" 2017 exit. Yes, Carlton played above themselves, our invincible midfield let us down, the'Weed! Experiment backfired and we had far too many turnovers. Twenty free kicks to our five however was a disgrace and we deserved to win or at least get a lot closer (as our Dream destined). We were never destined to win by the margin we needed however and this year the better side scrapes into the Finals only to lose the first round as the eight place-getter always does!
-
Terrible actual but interesting for an "away" game where the umpire awards twenty free kicks to our five to counter our outright favouritism. (Regrettably we never looked like taking it up to them today (and our changes were a mistake))!
-
On the basis that we can relax because we have Weideman who got seven possessions today?

Jetta t.mac Hunt

Twenty free kicks to our five. Considering the fact that we had an equal number of scoring shots, do you think that that may have been the difference (plus the fact that the umpire ignored the the fact that most of their marks were under fifteen metres)?
