As the MFC initially started life as the MCCFC, I am happy to vote for any candidate who chucks Collingwood off the MCG!
-
So does Neil Mitchell so says something in itself!
-
I wish that his relationship with Hurley was similarly solid!
-
Frankly I don't think that there is anybody "Watts should be trying to be like"! There are plenty of others not doing their current job as consistently or as polished as Jack. Leave him in his current role and let the Saints instead worry about how they are going to try and stop him. If anyone should go with NR, I would like to see Hunt who didn't play last time Nick gave us an absolute bath. We will have a different looking team this weekend and I am sure that Roos and Goodwin will plan accordingly.
-
Are they out-of-contract or delisted-free-agents? If we can just pick them up without having to trade anything, I am all for it. I thought we may have to fabricate a "token" trade merely so that they didn't need to go into the Draft (where we don't have a low pick).
-
I'm with you Faulty, especially as Hinberd, Hurley and Melksham are all managed by Connors (as is Jack Watts)! If we can legally get them as (technically) out-of-contract available players let's do it. If we have to chuck in Terlich, Dunn or Garland to offset EFC's loss of key defenders, so be it. No point being too hard-nosed.

Nice that Vince is likely but I would love Wagner and Oliver to both play as well. Who gives way? Kennedy?

Jack Watts signs for three years (21/7/16)

who honour your leads! -
The Saints played a fantastic game and beat the Saints? So they should!
-
So the last quarter of the Blues vs. Weagles might put them off? How?
-
Evan though Petracca looked 'cooked' he only just had a bye the week earlier. With an 8-day break, l would leave Track in and send Kennedy back instead. Otherwise l like the changes (although Stretch is a bit unlucky).

Surely Hunt Deserves a Rising Star Nomination

I forgot all about Prince. -
If you watch the recent video interviews with both White and TMac after Saturday's game, then l think that you will gain some confidence that they have a plan (implemented both by MFC and Casey) where they are all on the same page and starting to gel together. Certainly there will continue to be diversions from the game plan from time to time, however I am starting to feel confident that our defence will show a rapid improvement and not be impacted dramatically when players move between the AFL and VFL sides.

I suspect 43 more than we have signed up at Etihad. The upside is however the potential to tap into the indigenous community to get another Jurrah, Davey or Whelan. Perhaps the Club should sell "two game membership packages" in the NT? (Not as silly as the three game packages down here.)
-
Kent, Watts and Hogan all looked good yesterday evening. If they repeat next week (and Garlett chips in) we may finish the year on a song and even win a few in a row!
-
If you watched the game, the sight of all those beaming indigenous supporters sporting their Demon jumpers convinces me that we have made the right decision (especicially since Aussie and Co. continue to play there in local leagues). If we can establish an Academy there then even better still. Articles during the week from both Watts and Jones support the fact that the players enjoy the association and your figure of 65% Freo supporters was not borne out by the television footage which showed the majority of the indigenous community excitedly backing us. I am all for it and prefer that our 'Etihad' "home game" was transferred there as well. In a few years the rest of the League will be dreading having to play us there (even moreso than we resent travelling a few kilometres to play a "home game" against St. Kilda, the Kangaroos or the Bulldogs at 'Etihad'!).

6. Watts 5. Hogan 4. Kent 3. N. Jones 2 M. Jones 1. Gawn
-
Peter Moore was one of them. I wonder who the other three are?
-
Nothing personal but I hope that you get your wish (to be wrong)!
-
Let's see if we win first before you discount it. The sponsorship from the NT Government helped us at a low time and building relationships with the top ends indigenous communities may also bring benefits!
-
No more of a travesty that Zac Jones didn't end up at the Dees!
-
If you listened to Watts interview, the players actually enjoy the trip to Darwin. I don't think that it will adversely effect us more than any other team (whose players may actually NOT enjoy it)! If we win, we will be be taken seriously you can rest assured on that.
-
I would prefer that he was playing on GF Day!
-
Trengove or Bayshaw for the interchange and Harmes to step in for Wagner if unavailable?
-
Despite all the ridicule of Spencer, from my recollection he was one of the best for Casey a few weeks ago, winning the hitouts and crunching a few goals. Can't be too bad alternating him and Gawn and having two giants in the ruck and as targets in the goal square, whilst Hogan, Watts and Garlett do their thing!
