CONFIRMED: 5AA are broadcasting the game on Sunday
CBDees replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Is anybody (like SEN) broadcasting in Victoria? I have no idea where to start in trying to tune in to 5AA. -
They keep promising that! The MFC website doesn't seem to have changed its comments much since last year if I am not wrong: Davis could push to become a regular in the Melbourne defence this year. A thyroid disorder cost Davis the first half of last season, but when he played in the VFL, his form was impressive. The 192cm Davis can play on talls and smalls and is a solid mark. Melbourne is happy with his progress.

I have pasted below the article from the MFC website. it looks like a Casey Scorpions team particularly when you look who has been rested (including our whole leadership group)! Are they serious? MELBOURNE will unveil three players for the first time when it takes on Port Adelaide in the second round of the NAB Cup this Sunday. Rory Taggert, Dom Barry and Nathan Stark will play their first official match for the club, as the Demons take a young and largely inexperienced squad to Renmark in country South Australia, starting at 4pm. Taggert, a tough ball winner, was Melbourne’s first pick in the 2011 NAB AFL Draft, when he was claimed at No. 36. The 19 year-old managed just three VFL matches in 2012, after his year was rocked by a back injury. The pacy Barry, a Northern Territory zone selection traded by Greater Western Sydney, came to Melbourne last October via a deal which also netted key forward Jesse Hogan as a 17 year-old trade incentive selection. Stark, a tenacious midfielder, was selected at No.3 in last December’s NAB AFL Rookie Draft. Along with Taggert, Barry and Stark, the Demons will also play James Strauss, Josh Tynan, Luke Tapscott, Troy Davis and Jack Fitzpatrick for the first time this year. Hogan will play again, after impressing considerably upon his first hit-out for the Demons last Friday night against North Melbourne and Richmond at Etihad Stadium. Colin Sylvia, Cam Pedersen, James Magner, Dan Nicholson and Neville Jetta have been named in the side. They will be the only Demons to have featured in all three games so far this year. New Demons Tom Gillies, Dean Kent, Matt Jones and Dean Terlich will play against the Power, after they played one match each last week. Melbourne will be without a host of players, including Jack Trengove (foot), Mitch Clark (foot), James Frawley (eye laceration), Sam Blease (ankle), Rohan Bail (concussion), Max Gawn (hamstring) and Mitch Clisby (hamstring). Jack Grimes, Nathan Jones, Chris Dawes, Tom McDonald, Jack Watts, Jordie McKenzie, Jeremy Howe, David Rodan, Mark Jamar, Colin Garland, Shannon Byrnes, Lynden Dunn, Jimmy Toumpas and Jack Viney have all been rested. The Demons will return to Victoria for the third week of the NAB Cup, hosting St Kilda at Casey Fields on March 9 at 2.30 pm.

Parking around Gosch's Paddock, Mitch Clark and other misc bickering
CBDees replied to DeeZee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Any more comment from anybody who went to training? -
Interesting how both Jack Watts and Chris Dawes came out of Brighton Grammar School. It is not the usual school renowed for producing elite AFL footballers
-
Frankly I would rather see the attitude with Port trying to keep their loss to us under 5 goals!
-
9A . . . = ninth again . . . . . . . .= Richmond
-
I see that Mohr was one of the best players for GWS. Isn't he from Casey?
-
With the possibility of Chris Connolly playing a role in some capacity out at Casey this year (in some ways a continuation of his old role anyway), I believe we can still make this partnership work. I suspect that the AFL would not countenance CC playing a role at Casey any more than MFC. IMO we should send him to America for a year to do a ports marketing course and then come back more qualified for the role which he has been doing (i.e. chasing partnerships and sponsorships). i think that you will find that the AFL has long tentacles extending into the state leagues.

The fact that both of last year's Grand Finalists are both sitting below us on the NAB ladder after the first round (and two teams above us are lower on percentage)!
-
Well at least we are in good company now that neither of last year's Grand Finalists have won a first round NAB Cup match. The difference to them though is that they lost to Gold Coast Suns and Greater Western Sydney respectfully (and in Sydney's case they got thrashed by GWS)!

Don't mind your team but I think that Pencil in lieu of Jamar is a big call. I hope that you are on the money and also that your 22 keep fit and injury-free.. Be great to see Mitch back!

My Iphone suggests that Jack Fitzpatrick didn;t get a touch. Did he get much game time?
-
Matt Jones? Not much said on him yet during training his name always came up; how did he go?
-
Should we be nuturing any of these guys? What positions do they play?
-
Is there anywhere (such a YouTube) where you can replay after the event? I will be in a communication-free-zone tonight from 6.30-10.30pm.
-
At least this allows time for Trengove (and hopefully Clark) to get up for Round 1

Perhaps a compulsory read of Jim Stynes 'My Jouney' might enlighten the uninformed as to the calibre of this individual!

To the tune of MacNamara's Band: Oh there's tanking and there's tanking but what does it really mean?. Is it water storage, opting out or some kind of war machine? Andrew Dimetriou's not so worried as he's counting every penny of Melbourne’s half a million singing "tanks for the mem’ry".

Yes, my fingers got tangled with all these posts. Corrected notice below: I like the concept of having Fitzpatrick in both teams as he deserves a run. If Dawes has been recruited as FF then I would play him there instead of Pederson. Similarly I would play Hogan as CHF instead of Pederson in the other match as I believe that is the role that we are grooming him for rather than FF. Otherwise I don't have a problem with your selections. I suspect the half back line that you named for both matches is our best and hopefully will excell for the whole season.

I suspect that hardtack might be right, however $180,000 is still a good help!
-
It used to be $300,000. That would go a long way to paying our fine!

The voice of reason and pragmatism! I hope the message was absorbed!
