Look I get what you're saying, but there is no way in any world rockliff is a better leader. Lewis has an outstanding record over 260 odd games, proven finals campaigner. Rockliff has played a few good games and been all Australian once

I quite like the Mitchell trade. Obviously he is an all time great of the game, his record speaks for itself. You can talk about team dynamics and list profile and all of the fancy words you want to use, but this looks a great trade for wce, Hawthorn and Mitchell himself. There doesn't always have to be a winner and loser for each trade, it's just that media push for hysteria over any trade to find a loser out of it. I think Mitchell will be a terrific puck up for wce, and will have a fantastic coaching career. I think wce will get 1 perhaps 2 good years out of a player who whilst slowing down, still plays some damn good football, and Hawthorn gain salary cap relief, and the chance for Stratton, Gibson, Smith and gunston to step up as leaders. Not to mention opening the way for Mitchell and omeara to come in. There is always a grey area when it comes to older players on the list and in my view, North Melbourne and Melbourne have previously failed, perhaps Hawthorn have set another trend here.

Just a tip for you when it comes to posting about potential trade ideas. Step 1- pick up phone Step 2- put down phone Step 3- walk away.

Disagree on Kent, I think he has the tools to be elite. This was his first full season where he didn't really have any injury battles or setbacks. Look out next year, I expect he and harmes will be 2 of our massive improves. The biggest name missing off this list is Angus braysure. Whilst petracca, viney, hogan and Macdonald will all continue to get their plaudits going forward, I've seen enough of Angus to know that if he gets a good run at it next year, he could surprise. I'm not saying he will, but I'm saying if it goes his way, he could be top 5 in our best and fairest and possibly spoken about as highly as wines, hannebury and coniglio after their first 50 games. Yes I'm aware that's a big call.

Funny this, because I heard we were taking Salem without any doubt. Hence why we didn't mind shuffling back a few picks. Apparently one of our leading scouts watched 15 games of Salem live over 2 seasons. That same scout was adamant we select hunt , which if I'm correct was the same draft?

Whilst I'm not keen to pot Dawes, as his body hasn't let him do what his brain desires, this is definitely a good outcome going forward. Pederson hurt his shoulder about round 15 in the afl, which coincides why he didn't play as much in the seniors in the last third of the year. I'm not sure if pedo didn't let on how bad his injury was, or if it was just decided he would play the year out before surgery. It was a shame as he had a very solid season until that point. Can still improve, despite being closer to 30 and could be very dangerous up forward if watts and hogan take another step up next year.

Troy Chaplin - Offensive Coordinator

Have heard nothing but good things about Chaplin as a coaching mind and mentor. Apparently a brilliant tactician and good communicator. Surprised me to be honest. -

It's actually not that ridiculous. Anyone who has ever had much to do with jesse knows he isn't one of those mad football fanatics. Although difficult to prove the credibility, and I find it hard to believe he would have these doubts after such a young age, it doesn't really surprise me. On top of that, the footy season takes up all of the northern summer. Anyone who gets the itch to travel, like most young people do now, want to have those experiences, and have them now. -
Lol what a comment. Shared for those who missed it. One of the best halves of footy let alone a gf, and umpires so far have been terrific considering the pace.

You do know who that girl is?? Let's just say her dad is very well connected with Melbourne, as well as being a foundation hero. -
Yeah, let's be honest here. He was omitted from the seniors as he wasn't quite up to speed when he played mid year. The fact that you and I see he isn't covering the ground that well yet would mean the Melbourne coaches, fitness staff and development guys would all have seen this as well. At worst, they try to work on his agility and fail, we have a handy 20-30 ranked player on our list who is a good influence and leader on a young squad. At best, he improves the agility and gets confidence in his body, and we end up with a smart, tough, skillful mid- forward in the Bartel mould.

Wtf are you even on about? You're one of those typical old blokes who talks about the brilliant career you had, when the reality was you were a soft outside wingman who would have screamed like a shot pig both times you ever got near enough the ball to be tackled. Trengove was never about this year, it was all about rehab and getting his injury right. The 20 odd games he played is a massive bonus, especially a few in the seniors. This preseason he will slim down, work on his agility and speed and next year we will have a bloke back who not only is physically better prepared, but mentally confident in his body too.

Just quoting this again as it is as accurate today as it was last week

I see what you're saying, but it's no coincidence that the dogs have kept tall forwards pretty much a non factor this finals series. They defend as a team as good as anyone out there. -

I'm very tried to get through this thread amd some of the rubbish posted, and you've been a key contributer so far. But this takes the cake. Onto ignore, next to only osilak, which shows I've got a fair tolerance for rubbish posts. -

Well you're obviously watching a different game. Honestly haven't seen him as a match winner? Jeez I've heard it all now. Sure he has had some lean times in front of goal, and his last month was pretty poor. But the bloke is only 21 and just finished his second season. The press are all fapping over Darcy Moore and he kicked 24 to give you some context. Some of these comments are laughable. He might not turn out to be the best of all time like we hoped, but he will be an absolute terrific forward who will have a lot more good games than bad, so just think before you write this tripe about a bloke who's 21 with the weight of the afl world on his shoulders, but also the health issues of his old man. -

No mate, nothing like that. Just passing on some off the record info. For what it's worth, and the various analysis and over analysis, this player told me the news suggesting that was how he assumed it was going to play out. No one else listened, there wasn't a big forum, no lip reading was needed. Purely his take on the situation based on what he has seen and heard from jesse. If he stays, he stays, if he goes, I imagine it will be this year and we maximise our position with freo and west coast.
