  1. Was he smiling?
  2. You mean you don't enjoy watching standard definition games with poorly timed replays and annoying commentary?
  3. Hird is poison. Maybe the biggest punishment that club can get is having him stay on as long as possible.
  4. How so? Having 2 rookies who can't play for a year and a half means they have 2 less rookies to elevate in case of LTI. To me, the big story should be "Collingwood condones drug use by promising to rookie convicted duo".
  5. I know, I just wanted to contribute to the hysteria. Not I.
  6. This was the first chance I've had to see him live and I've gotta say it was amazing. Even my brother, a north supporter, says we've got a real champion on our hands. I've never heard him say anything positive about any of our players ever, even when Clarke was dominating a few years back. One day I'm going to be telling my grandkids about how I used to go down to the G and watch THE JESSE HOGAN kick bags for the red and blue. I hope it's with the same reverence as the older generation has when they speak to me about Flower, who I never got to see.
  7. We'll get Essendon after half of them have been done for doping and none of their fans show up to games any more.
  8. lol. And he would be getting fed by Ablett too, probably resulting in an even more impressive first season. I'll stop now.
  9. Of course they would have. But Essedon being a fair, reasonable and completely transparent entity had nothing to fear. Unlike those dodgy foreign types who manufacture the drugs. Disgraceful lot. Must not assume that their factory makes the stuff they actually say they make and sell. That bow is clearly too long to draw.
  10. Seems like a pretty big hole for ASADA to leave, as surely it would be a simple matter to determine whether or not that Chinese company actually supplies TB4 or not without basing their entire case on Mr Xu's statement that it does. Hate to sound like an Essendon supporter here, but it does give a little basis for doubt doesn't it? Still astounded they didn't get done on intent though. I mean really, they said they wanted TB4, the injection regime matched TB4, and the results (and injuries) were consistent with what they thought would happen when TB4 is administered.
  11. I think it's an option, not a requirement. At a guess, officially it'd be the AFL tribunal handing out the sanctions, so they make the choice to apply the team sanction of the anti-doping code or not. I can't see the AFL tribunal applying it.
  12. Apparently so. Interesting that Collingwood said they'll take them back as rookies.
  13. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/josh-thomas-and-lachlan-keeffe-accept-twoyear-drug-ban-20150810-givfh3.html Gone.
  14. I also found the flashing banners distracting yesterday during gameplay. It's far worse then the rolling canvas (I think?) they used to have. Although I have to say I did like the occasional "hot updates" they put up. There weren't too many of them, and since the background is black on the updated and text is white, it's not too distracting. Also though pre-game is was ok, with the eyes of some players and coaches next to our logos and stuff. For a better match-day experience I'd love for them to remove all gambling advertising of ANY KIND at the ground, including any odds. People who want to gamble can check odds on their phones. Also remove Fev. WTF.
  15. I'm pretty sure Gotham's sister city is Bludhaven (before it was destroyed). Sorry, inner nerd got the best of me.
  16. There's an article today on the afl website comparing stats from 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2015. Scoring is down 18% since 2000. So Hogan's doing this in a lower scoring environment, makes it all the more impressive. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-08-07/the-inquirer-the-evolving-game
  17. Get off the juice, DL.
  18. In that case, which players would be stupid enough NOT to read the briefs? Still doesn't sit right with me. Maybe it's just Campbell making stuff up about some players learning about it today.
  19. Also, why would an American basketball player want to play in the AFL over a European basketball team?
  20. This should be a DL emoticon like the Roos one.
  21. Does the seriousness of his injury reduce his trade value? Could we potentially get him cheaper than we originally thought?
  22. Small article from The Age, but I think it's interesting: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/essendon-players-frustrated-by-leaks-dons-boss-says-20150806-git1ym.html "In a recorded interview on the club website, Xavier Campbell said some of the players had found out WADA's claims for the first time through the media." So Tim Watson knew about the 2 abnormal results 4 weeks ago, he has stated as much. Some PLAYERS didn't know until today. It seems to me that the club has intentionally left some players in the dark about this. I would assume that there will be some VERY angry calls from players to the CEO today. Oh and the good ol' captain is sipping beers at the Ashes. Leadership.
