AFLW Sign, Draft and Trade Period 2023-24
Have to look at Melanie Staunton. Tough onballer. Lots of physical play to her game. That’s needed to our midfield.

Casey Demons 2024
Injury ruined the draft chances for Riak Andrew in 2023. He’s very lightly built (192cm, 72kg) and plays as a tall interceptor role as a defender. Similar but shorter than his brother Mac Andrew (Suns) , he is raw but you can see real talent and he has the athletic qualities to progress to the AFL. Hope he gets into Casey list program and continues developing

AFLW Sign, Draft and Trade Period 2023-24
Still a star studded line up. Not sure why Gay is leaving but do believe clubs are throwing higher $$ dollars around. I think Dees can re-challenge. Harris and Banno were cooked by years end. Not sure why but they both underperformed in both finals.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Harvey Langford is training with the Dees this pre season.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Monday 4th December 2023
Pre season training. I remember it at our suburban footy club. Tooronga Malvern. Started about now but definitely not this intense. Usually an hour of running then hit the showers and off to the Malvern Vale afterwards for a Parma 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
@Neil Crompton another elite available mid for next year is Zac Johnson from the Knights. He is probably rated just outside the top 10 right now. I rate him as highly as Smith and Ashcroft but has been under the radar. Expect that will change in next years championships. If you watched the futures game on GF day, he showed his power running and skill level. Whilst it’s another compromised year of father sons and academy picks, there is again lots of excellent talent likely throughout the first round.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Absolutely @Nascent Tom Gross was a standout even as an under ager player in 2023. Huge talent. Pace. Decision making. Skills. Top 10 likely. I agree he could be around 9-10 pick at this stage. Dees would already have him on the list to closely watch in 2024.

TRAINING GALLERY: Friday 1st December 2023
Woey jnr to be in the team for round 1. Looks strong. Good pace. Run run run. That’s what we need.

If we miss the final 8 next year then ...
Exactly. Why? He’s a top bloke. Funny. Likeable. But really? We need forward strategy by a bloke with forward craft. Stafford is a ruck coach. Full stop.

If we miss the final 8 next year then ...
Well said @old55 Yes we LOST the 2 finals. Not beaten. Not outclassed. Not humbled. Self destruction in a way. That’s the fix and it’s under our control. Goalkicking. Forward line strategy. Decisions. All have been called out for a long time.

Luke Beveridge Bulldogs “The team that represents the football club against Melbourne in Round 1 at the MCG will be our fittest, strongest and most ready team that has ever taken the field in the 9 years I’ve been here.”

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Throw Sam Marshall from Lions Academy into the mix. Hes probably about ranking 12-14 right now. Another draft with academy and father son impact through the first round. 😭

The Delisted Free Agent Thread
THE WESTERN Bulldogs have provided Lachlan Bramble with a second chance, signing the delisted Hawk after the pre-season supplemental selection period (SSP) opened on Monday. The 25-year-old has started training with Luke Beveridge’s squad, with the main group reporting back for pre-season training a week after the club's first to fourth-year players. Bramble played 30 games across three seasons at Waverley Park, including 11 appearances in 2023, after being signed by the Hawks via the SSP at the start of 2021.

Change coming to the Academy System
Yes the Lions also have Sam Marshall in 2024 draft pack. Hes a strong young mid/half back. He is boarding at Melbourne Grammar and got a VFL game as a 17yo with Brisbane. He also played in under 18s this year with the Allies and Sandringham Dragons. I’d have him around the pick 13-14 mark right now so another GIFT for the Lions. A first round gift indeed !!!!

Welcome Back to Demonland Marty Hore
Welcome back. We are indeed fully loaded with medium tall defenders like Lever, Joel Smith, Turner and now Hore.
-
Casey Demons 2024
Yes I agree but Casey already is a logjam of tall forwards - Schache, Jefferson, BBB, Tmcd -plus alternative of Fullerton/Verrell. McLaughlin should go to Frankston as their number 1 forward.
-
2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
2024 has a lot of high quality mids. I think the first 10 selections could be purely midfielders next year. As for key defenders, Noah Mraz was a youngster at Dandenong Stingrays this year. Light frame but good height and not overawed by bigger opponents. One to keep a watch on next year.

Casey Demons 2024
Tarkyn O’Leary should be at Sandringham VFL in 2024. Outstanding runner. Elite skills. Excellent GF performance. Very unlucky. He played 3 games for Sandy VFL team last year and impressed. Thoughts Saints were his option but they went Schoenmaker with final pickup.

Casey Demons 2024
AS REPORTED VFL: top signing for North Melbourne VFL squad. The Kangas have locked in ex-Demon Deakyn Smith, who won the Casey Demons' best and fairest this year, polling votes in every round.
