  1. Goal to Craven Actually due to good work by Kynan Brown. Double tackle, Culley to Craven.
  2. Lead up Jeffo ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ 25 metres out Dead straight GOAL BETTER !!
  3. Jefferson free kick 15 metre out. Slight angle. Lucky to score a point. Yips !!! ๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคฎ
  4. Dees smashed the dead last Bullants last week Swans are the 2nd bottom team Casey should aim for another 10 goal win.
  5. @Whispering_Jack different point. Pendles was a star and Pies grabbed him at pick 5 in the draft, Pies knew he was special and heโ€™s stayed at home. Whereas McCarthy has gone to WA, left his family. The bloke has real talent. Dees should monitor with his manager and keep an eye out. Lure of playing on the MCG with the Dees would likely still be there.
  6. Bailey Laurie will play v Saints JVR, Henderson & Adams all travel for the frequent flyer points. Last minute changes in an interstate trip โ€ฆ last one was never!!! Like to see Edwards and Freeman added to the team.
  7. Agreed. We were better than the hawks and ACTUALLY BEAT OURSELVES.
  8. Pick 1 Tom McCarthy (West Coast) McCarthy grew up adoring Melbourne, listing the likes of David Neitz, Brad Green and Russell Robertson as some of his idols, as well as current superstar Christian Petracca.
  9. I think Laurie is more likely a Spargo replacement. Here was his draft profile report which highlights our views Is he a smart small forward or an inside mid ? POSITION: Forward/Midfielder Laurie is a crafty small forward/midfielder who loves to take the game on and can carve up the opposition with his attacking creativity. Having put together a sensational NAB League finals series which ended in premiership glory last year, he consolidated his high standing among the Chargers' raft of elite 2020 AFL Draft prospects. The diminutive forward/midfielder is a high impact player in attack, able to tear games open with his magnificent evasion and ability to hit targets by foot in full flight. Most of his work as a bottom-ager was done at half-forward, where Laurie worked hard to find space and receive in all the right areas to set up scoring opportunities for his teammates.
  10. Laurie has to come in. He has to show something and needs to take his chance. Iโ€™d assume he would be sub however actually prefer to see him start.
  11. Ouch. Thought Tmac might at least be an emergency
  12. Thanks @Whispering_Jack Interested again in some value picks. I think as always that thereโ€™s quality through the draft even in the 25-40 range and even this year with all the compromises pre-academy and father son picks. Early call out for value in the 30+ pick range. Watch for Hunter Wright from the Bendigo Pioneers. Not ranked at this time in the top 30 but heโ€™s quality. Skilled left footed mid. Plays like Josh Kelly or Scott Pendlebury prototype. Good inside as well as outside player. Like to see how he goes for Vic Country.
  13. Baby Bombers. Better recruiting after some dud years !!
  14. @binman thank you for your comments about the constant media rants about players actually potentially bringing about mental health challenges for players. AFL and media need to be more aware of their ridicule and negative opinions. Whether it be Clarry or Sheezel, these are young men doing their best and donโ€™t deserve such negativity from headline seeking spruikers. Just talk about the good stuff and the number of excellent footy acts or behaviours. AFL can play a role too. We should have a mental health round but it shouldnโ€™t be one week focus but a constant ongoing thought by those commenting on the game to be positive!!
  15. Yes he had the tools. But Casey had had too many key talls in Fullarton, JVR, AJ, Kentfield and Jeffo all at various times, so no space or time in the Casey team. Note that Kentfield is now being trialed in defence given our number of talks but again I think heโ€™s a key forward and perhaps not given the opportunity to develop there.
  16. Roan Steele got better and better at Casey and was excellent in 2024 force Casey Demons. Runner up in B&F in 2024 and showed AFL quality. Was definitely a draft chance last year. Skilled. Runner. Goalkicking half forward.
  17. Just the facts Former Cats Finance guy & the current @AFL staffer Simon Kelleher investigates himself & Steve Hocking for cheating the salary cap & although findings and agreement the cats are guilty, the club wonโ€™t lose points, draft picks etc. Only cop a slap through a fine. Deadset clown show! ๐Ÿคก play on Cats , advantage
  18. Is this a joke ?? Marshall Sinclair Both would be likely to be in the All Australian squad Add in Steele and Wilkie Higgins has 28 goals (4th on the table) and Sharman 18 goals And highly rated youngsters like Phillipou & Wilson & Travaglia Saints are no mugs We should win but not to be a walk in the park
  19. Out. Spargo. Concussion or omitted Ins. Viney if heโ€™s recovered and clear to play Saints were not bad v suns and it was their goalkicking that let them down Donโ€™t take them lightly Saints will play one man loose behind the ball Setup to get the footy into hands of Wanganeen-Milera โ€ฆ @binman he had over 900 metres gained last week and was clearly their best Push hard at contest with Steele and Windhager (they won clearance v Suns) Run in waves through back half through Sinclair, Hill & Clark Have Marshall negate Gawn In absence of King, forward attack focus is on Higgins and Owens as attacking mobile options Suns got them with pressure in forward half with nearly 20 forward tackles. That is what Dees need to bring. Yes if have Viney in, then perhaps thatโ€™s a role for him to crack down on Sinclair or create forward pressure
  20. Dear Steven (Hocking) Because you got caught out this time, we issue a $50,000 fine and request kindly to please donโ€™t hide anything else in the future. Kind regards, Laura Kane
  21. โ€œAfter everything thatโ€™s been said about Christian Petracca (& his familyโ€™s) relationship with Melbourne over the last 12 months, this is telling. Dad Tony arm in arm with Simon Goodwin after Christianโ€™s 200th. Petracca has committed to the Deesโ€ฆ now to convince Kozzyโ€ Thanks Mitch Cleary๐Ÿคก โ€ฆ climbing out of the gutter but then slips straight back down
  22. AFL screwed MFC with Mac Andrew. Then they decides the screw the Dees again. Players whose parents are from Iraq, Finland, Switzerland, South Africa, Ghana but all played junior footy from the age of โ€œ7โ€ at Auskick but somehow the Polynesian area got excluded. AFL would rather than go off to the NRL storm academy system.
  23. Agreed. I think Cox didnโ€™t give any votes for Gawn !! He probably thinks Grundy broke even. Gawn was clearer better.
  24. Amazing stats. We absolutely dominated and finally put the score on the board. Yes post clearance contested footy was huge. Points from turnovers. Must be one of our highest ever in recent times. Harry Sharp 8.3 player rating in one quarter. He definitely made a contribution. @binman I know Aiden Johnson had a negative game by the ratings but I thought he again brought the contest, the bump and bullocking work and valuable 2nd ruck contests. His tap ons and intercept pressure brought us 3 goals.
  25. 5 years on, and after Sir Doug Nicholls round, I thought Iโ€™d reset my view of the top 10 indigenous players to wear the red and blue for the Melbourne footy club. This is based on the players Iโ€™ve seen play and that does include Colin Graham. Kozzzy and Steven May now right up there. 1- Jeff Farmer 2- Aaron Davey 3- Kozzzy Pickett๐Ÿ† 4- Steven May๐Ÿ† 5- Nev Jetta 6- Matthew Whelan 7- Andy Lovell 8- Liam Jurrah 9- Colin Graham 10-Sean Charles Special mentions to Garlett Byron Pickett Austin Wonamieri
