  1. Welcome aboard Dom Barry. Electric pace and skills. His highlights remind me of Cyril Rioli (not too much pressure). Has a similar pathway to Rioli. Rioli came down to Scotch College as a 16yo, for 2 yrs in Melbourne. BTW the only concern for me is our record with indigenous players ... Aussie Wonaemirirmiri & the Wiz J Farmer both got homesick. And Liam's issues.
  2. Yes great news ... Welcome aboard Jesse Hogan. Set for round 1, 2014. He is already a man at October 2012. Imagine after 2 afl pre seasons.
  3. My crystal ball now says Toumpas is bound for GWS ... 1- Lachie Whitfield 2- Brodie Grundy 3- Jimmy Toumpas Doesn't matter which order. Good luck Jimmy. My attention will turn to Oliver Wines at pick 4 (IMO)
  4. Welcome aboard Jack Viney. A future leader & a tough inside mid. Hallehulah. Good luck and lets unleash Hell.
  5. Lucas Cook is "extra" burnt. He was worth a pick 30-40, and Bailey/Predergast chose him at #12 (yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy). We missed Shaun Atley (expected at 6-10 pick), Ben Jacobs & of course Jack Darling. Prendergast should hang his head in SHAME.
  6. Prefer Jesse Hogan over Dawes. Hogan is a very good mark, and his aerobic ability is far away better than Dawes. Dawes is a man mountain but he has been off the boil in 2012. Agree we can have both with the : GWS gets pick 3 = Mfc gets Hogan and pick 20. Coll'wood gets pick 20 = Mfc gets Dawes.
  7. Farren Ray is an outside runner... a good get if we say trade pick 47 (3rd rd) for Ray.
  8. Ouch ... Jesse Hogan = Pick 3 is fair. Anything else is a waste.
  9. Agree - trade #3 to GWS for Jesse Hogan. - pick 4: Oliver Wines. He gets the footy, competitive, tough & ready to go. Viney & Wines "hunt the footy".
  10. Had a beer with a footy administrator at the AFL runners up today. He believes Farren Ray will be in a red & blue jumper in 2013, with MFC taking on his contract terms and adding a further year. Hmmm. A good get if he comes at the right price. A PSD # 3, or pick 47 trade with Saints. Had an indifferent 2012, with only 11 games, and Scott Watters is not a big fan from all reports. Here is his BIO on the Saints website: The talented midfielder was traded from the Western Bulldogs in 2008 and has been an impressive addition to the red, white and black. Since joining the Club, Farren has only missed three games for St Kilda, two of these due to a virus during the 2011 season. Farren played 21 games in 2011 and had a stand out 28 possessions in the round 19 win against the Gold Coast Suns. The 26-year-old is an important running player for the Saints and is a proven performer on the big stage, highlighted by his performance in the 2010 drawn Grand Final.Farren signed a new contract heading in to the 2012 season.
  11. Ben Jacobs HAS to be a MFC target. Very skilled. Would fit into a half back/quarterback role that we DESPARATELY need.
  12. Thomas Gribble - Geelong Falcons - is the whisper
  13. Smoke and mirrors from Neeld, Harrington and young Jack etc. We are playing politics to warn GCS and GWS that if they nominate Jack Viney to make us have to use Pick 3 then they can have JV i.e. and miss out on Whitfield, Grundy or Toumpas. MFC WILL GET JACK VINEY. IF THEY DON'T, MINE AND MANY OTHER MEMBERSHIPS WILL BURN. This is a culture destroying call if we don't get Jack. We have : 1. the son of a champion 2. he wants to play for MFC 3. we have invested 2 years and PR into Jack 4. he is tough, aggressive, physically ready and has the makings of a future STAR Use Pick 3, if we have to. Low Draft picks are not guaranteed champions. Look at Watts, Morton etc.
  14. A Agree ... if Jack Viney is our Pick 3 (and not 26), then Nick Graham must be our target for pick 26. He has the ability, the toughness, and the competitive streak we need at MFC.
  15. Koby Stevens is a must get target. We can offer a 3-yr deal, plus a regular game if he measures up. He has the strength, the tackling, the desire ...and there is no waiting line for our midfield.
  16. One of our top 10 in my opinion. With a full pre season in 2013, he will be a valuable asset. Neeld MUST play Sylvia more in the midfield.
  17. Bail is a consistent performer. A keep for me, however must deliver more to stay on board. 15 possessions as a wing/half fwd, with 60% efficiency, warrants improvement.
  18. Give JR the 3 years deal at $350k to stay at MFC. 4th in our B&F and we are happy he's going ???????
  19. White is big and strong, and we need another tall forward to create contests. White at a trade pick 65+ or one of those swap Petterd to Swans for White and their pick 63 ish.
  20. In the guts only ... not up fwd. Poor call by Neeld. Magner is tough and shows how he can add value at stoppages.
  21. Yes, ditto for me
  22. Burbury is one I would give an offer to. 2 years at $100k. He would jump. Very good player. Cats cannot squeeze all their rookies in and pickup Caddy & Rivers etc. Offer pick 66 and we have a win.
  23. I agree ... Stringer at 14 is a YES. Not at 3 or4. As a key fwd with good aerobic ability (aka Pav or Riewoldt). Huge potential.
  24. I think he would be a good get for our pick in the 2nd round (approx pick 26). Assume Viney used at pick 3. Haynes has the pace and athletic ability. Is a very good kick. Just needs 1 or 2 pre seasons. But has the pace that we need.
