  1. Lock them up. Stupidity. It could threaten health and well-being of so many people. Some humans are a selfish breed.
  2. That’s a smarter idea
  3. Yes yes yes. Game at Metricon was ok. Staggering of rows actually was good. The loss was disappointing but great to get to a game. AFL has missed a chance to promote the game. Thursday night footy. A quiet beer at the Pineapple and then wander across. Ffs. Makes no sense to restrict crowd to 500. Better hope that Dees v Pies is setup for 10,000-12,000. Saturday night twilight blockbuster!!
  4. No. Missed out ! I’m entering Powerball. Better odds of a successful ticket ?
  5. Wtf. Extra costs and time and disruption. Makes ZERO SENSE when Gabba and Metricon are available. Only winners - SA Demons. If they let you have a crowd!!!
  6. Agreed. Vineys goal lifted us. Viney played a great game. All 4 quarters. Definitely my best player on the day for the Dees.
  7. Yes this is the key point. Rather than trek down to the GC on a raining Sunday night, some QLD members probably thought a game at the Gabba in Brisbane was preferred. It’s the AFL (not MFC) that is making it hard to enjoy the game.
  8. Pert has to pickup the phone to the AFL and make sure we can get 15000 to the Pies game. And not get screwed in tix allocation. MFC needs to get all Qld members along to the Dees v Pies ā€œwhatever it takesā€. The Saturday night v Pies should be a big game.
  9. Limit losses? Crowd of 500 still require toilets open and food services available and sanitary processes (sanitizer, distancing) and after match cleaning. 500 or 1000 or 2500 requires the same costs !!! It’s Economies of scale.
  10. Correct. It’s another example of Dees getting bentOVER by the AFL So where is Pert and Bartlett. Quiet times from the head men.
  11. Out. A crowd watching the game in. Simulated crowd noise only 500 max crowd !!
  12. Yes and MFC gets 250 tix and Port 250 tix even though we are the home club. FFS. Gil and the team are tools. Why not try to seize the chance to promote AFL in QLD and give interstate members a chance !
  13. There was an allowance of up to 10,000 for the Lions game because of the local team playing. HOWEVER THE AFL HAS RESTRICTED THIS WEEKS CROWD (DEES V POWER) TO ONLY 500 MAX DUE TO ā€œTWO INTERSTATE TEAMS PLAYING, THURSDAY NIGHT, AND COSTS OF THE COVID PLANā€. AFL apparently happy for no one to actually attend.
  14. Very good 3rd forward behind two talls. Good mark and kick but needs to keep working on accuracy. Also need to know when to fly and when to rove it. He tends to fly against the key talls !!
  15. I was there. We sat through it and were stunned in silence at the end. The white flag had gone up. The next week we came out and beat the Bombers in a huge upset.
  16. Petracca 7 Viney 4 in coaches votes. Clearly Viney was our best. Daylight. Tough. 460 metres gained. Numerous 1%s. Great goal in the last qtr. Petracca was good but not dominant and didn’t punish with his disposals.
  17. AFL is now too soft. Protect the head but the tackle must be kept a strong and physical act.

Agree 100%. It’s the same each time. Even the one try to kick long was to Gawn. It’s so predictable that other clubs just crowd around Gawn and actually outnumber us. Answer. More movement. I watched the Eagles yesterday and their kick ins are sharp and creative. They used it to rebound often to the wing and beyond. Not always to the ruckman!!
  19. Only change is to bring in Tmcd or give Bennell a spell. Harmes on notice but stays in.

Yes a lot was missed which we would have been penalised for. Crowd was 70% Lions. Influence in the umpiring was clear. So called Dees home game !!

Here’s some examples. Charlie Cameron. Runs 10 metres. Tried to evade and gets tackled. Ball stays in. Ball up. (Ffs). Zorko evades two players and gets run down and the ball spills clear. Play on. James Harmes. Twice. Got hospital handball. Tackled by 2 players and flat on the ground trying to push it out. Holding the ball!!! Bailey caught holding the ball. Holds it in after the free. Then prevents Trac getting the ball. No 50. Picketts tackle was legit. He tackled and the momentum of Berry rolled forward. A sling is when they are held and then a second motion ā€œslings the locked up player to the groundā€ Levers marked in play. Why a review? Why penalize us when we were 40m away and rebounding. McCarthys free and resulting goal in the 2nd qtr. 15 metres out. Arms everywhere from 10 players and a very soft glance across his shoulder by Langdon reaching for the footy. Free and goal to Bris-favoured-Lions. Any more needed??? Basically the holding the ball decisions are confusing and frustrating to all supporters
  22. Agree. Sometimes Gawn would be better off with a 15 metre punch to our advantage. Players could run into the footy. The Lions like Lyons, Neale and Zorko just camped in the clearance contest and won it repeatedly.
  23. He’s jogging on the spot in our team right now. 9 possessions. 1 mark. 2 tackles. He’s back next week but needs to have a huge lift in his performance
  24. 6 Viney. He was in the kitchen all night. Great contested footy. Tackles. Clearances. Hit targets. Great goal in the last. Definitely our best. Huge heart. 5 Oliver. If only he had Pendlebury style disposal. He’s a beast. Contested footy and tackling were A grade. A few clangers definitely let us down. Work needed but his effort was huge. 4 May. Stopped any influence from Hipwood. Continues to be our defensive General. 3 Langdon. Good run and carry. Hit targets. I think they could use him more. 2 Salem. Steady. Hit targets. A good link through midfield. 1 Gawn Not a big influence but his second effort was good. Needs protection from umps and teammates. Lions were physical on him all night. apologies - Lever was good again. Now in form and key part of defence. Lockhart has a good game. Solid. Trac was okay but was perhaps expecting more. Maybe a vote. Melksham can at least kick straight unlike a few others (Weideman!!!! ).
