I think clubs are waiting for the list size to be announced. When will the AFL deliver this. It will make a difference in how clubs delist or trade in.

I thought that we would spend the GWS trade pick in to acquire a Tom Phillips. ie. Trade out surplus and look to immediately fix a known gap that improves the team for a push in 2021. Maybe I have a view that we need to push ahead for the “now” or risk dropping down again as others like Blues and Freo push past us.

That’s a bizarre choice given he was just a ruckman. And as goalkicking coach, he was working alongside Fritsch this year! . That needs further thought. 4. Ruck coach? Skills and development coach? Strategy and opposition analysis? Casey coach?? Obviously some gaps that need to be filled. Modern day footy might be tighter but you at least need basic roles filled.

Any answer ? Surely we are calling the Cats or his management.

Question Are we looking to have a back up ruckman who can go forward OR a backup forward who can ruck. ???? I’m not sure why there is no love for Mitch Brown. He played an excellent last 5 weeks when given the chance. I thought h I e should have been in earlier in the year. In fact he was nearly BOG in round 18 and showed the bummers what they missed. He supported Max in the ruck and was a very good CHF option. I know if we get Bbrown then lose Preuss and Tmc as expected it means: ruck - Gawn, back up Jackson key fwds - BBrown Weid Jackson back up Mitch Brown. I’d stump a role for someone like Lewis Pierce who was at the Saints. As posted earlier, he’s eligible as a DFA. Would fit as a low $$ mature type backup ruck.

Yes it’s 3 years with performance based trigger to get 4th year. That’s about right. I was very nervous about a 5 year deal. Need to reserve 5 year deals for gun mids like JV, Clarry and Trac. End 2021 - Clarry gets 5 year deal, Salem gets 4 year deal, Maxy gets 3 year deal.
