Agree. Wtf.

This figures are guess-timates. I’ve seen about 80-90 contracts in my work capacity in the past 10 years. The contracts are formed on the criteria of - Base salary. ie. If you get injured and play zero games , you still get this amount - match payments (AFL, VFL) - number of matches played in season . Example: if you play more than 10 games, if you play more than 20 games - performance based. Club best and fairest - awards based. A play like Brayshaw would be on base $250k then around $15000 a match. If he played 20 matches and finished say 8-10th in B&F, he would probably earn around $600k.

Yes a highly skilled mid with pace as a running outside wing.
-
ABSOLUTELY ABSOLUTELY ABSOLUTELY THATS THE OBVIOUS HOPEFULLY AFL SEES COMMON SENSE

I spoke to Gil. He will reschedule the Dees game to the week when we play the Bombers. 4 games in 7 days -“ Footy will find a way to get through it” he commented.
-
Too easy. That’s the obvious ANSWER. MFC must pursue Gabba option. But Gil will probably schedule Cairns to have us travel more than anyone !!!
-
I’d rather play Crows, Swans and Kangas right now whilst they are down. Hard to see them getting any worse !
-
This must be based on “currently available to play” ratings. Hore, Petty and Preuss would be all around 31-33 mark in normal business. Hore especially was very good last year. I’d certainly rate all above Bedford, Spargo and Cwagner.
-
4 games in 14 days including two interstate trips 5 games in 20 days That would not happen to anyone but MFC. We’d better not play Swans and Giants in SYDNEY - ffs
-
Tomlinson was my player referred to
-
Agree MF-C. His lack of pace means the “wing” position is not really suited. He has great endurance which leads me to think of him more for CHF or possibly CHB. He’s a good mark and kick. I think his omission is concerning even after only 4 games. He got a 4 year $$$ deal.

Players We Haven't Seen in 2020
spirit of norm smith replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hoping to see Jordon and Sparrow get a run in the next 3-4 games. Definitely think Sparrow is one to give a chance to show his ability. Maybe rotate Sparrow into our midfield in the Crows game in Adelaide. -
No rest. Our draw is definitely the hardest

2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
spirit of norm smith replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Deakyn Smith. He’s an okay type. Half forward. Not sure we will draft him especially if lists reduce down to 39-40. -
Cody Weightman (Drafted by Western Bulldogs)
spirit of norm smith replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Weightman. Game 2. Ineffective. 4 possessions. Didn’t even know he was playing. 72 minutes. For a small player in wet conditions, he was completely unsighted -
Depth will be crucial. I do expect Jones to play in the next few weeks as a rotation through our midfield. Maybe for the trip to Tassie.

In. Jones. Out. Vdberg

Current Team Potentially Best in 50 Years
spirit of norm smith replied to Dees2014's topic in Melbourne Demons
Totally agree. We were effectively the runner up in 1998. Behind North. Adelaide stole the 98 flag. I’m sure we would have beaten them. I’m 100% sure. If .... -
What happens to the draft in 2020
spirit of norm smith replied to deelusions from afar's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have not seen Baldwin but huge wraps from 2018 under 16s championships. Will still go top 12 given his potential and key forward. McDonald (Jack Darling type) and Callow (Charlie Curnow type , solid and good mark) were at last years under 18 championships and are both physically strong key forwards. Again I think they’ll be gone by the end of the 1st round or early second round selections probably around picks 17-22 mark -
What happens to the draft in 2020
spirit of norm smith replied to deelusions from afar's topic in Melbourne Demons
Draft 2020. Likely only 3 picks with reduced lists. Skilled ball users and running ability. My early list from under 18s cohort is Zac Dumesny -SA (Likely Draft range 20-25) Jack Carroll -WA (20-25) Jack Ginnivan - Bendigo (25-30) Nick Stevens - Greater Western Vic (25-30) Jamieson Murphy -SA (25-30) Joshua Clarke - Eastern (35-40) Patrick Walker -Tassie (45-50) Ty Sears -WA (55-60) Harry Sharp - Greater Western Vic (55-60) I don’t think we have key position players on the menu. It could depend on the recovery of Petty. May still look at Ollie Lord (Sandringham) as a big Full Forward as a rookie if available. -
Yes club personnel doing their best (especially Tracey) but systems and ticketek not great. It’s one of those years to accept things may not go smoothly.
-
Yes need to have the attitude that’s it’s all green grass no matter where and when
-
Trade talk. Pass. Wake me up in October.
-
Agree but we have been screwed and are not the Suns Saints or Bummers!!!
-
Spot on. We got screwed again. North in Tassie. Duck off. Travel between 3 states and with short breaks. No bye obviously. Still have bombers game to pickup. Saints and Bombers got armchair rides. note - that leaves us makeup match v Dons plus with rounds 13 to 17 against Freo, Saints, Dogs, Swans, Giants.
