Another Season for Mitch Brown
Agree. He deserved his spot in the last 5 rounds ahead of Tmcd on form. Mitch got better and got 2 Brownlow votes in round 18. He was only slightly behind Trac for best on ground imv. He is very handy as a key position forward and keeps pressure on.

2020 Player Reviews: #8 Jake Lever
I’d be not keen on paying upwards of $600k a year for a “good back pocket”. He’s good but he’s not a match winner or star of the team.

2020 Player Reviews: #8 Jake Lever
I think the Dees overspent in terms of two First Round picks and contract $$$$ to get Jake. Probably needed to serve up the big contract to win his signature. Not sure but probably on a 5yr-$2.5M total deal. Not sure we can substantiate that $$$ for a back pocket player who other clubs look to make accountable which robs him of the interceptor role. Lever is a good player. He had a good 2020. He is a very handy defender for our group. I think we need to reward with a premiership tilt in the next 2 years. Jake probably cannot hold out for more big $$$ at end of 2022.

Jackson Extends Until 2022
Great news. Everybody do the Happy dance !! why would he ever go back !! They shut their borders to us “over East “.
-
More Rules Changes in 2021
A good rule is to stop congestion. There must be at least 3 of your players in the back and forward 50 at all times.

Rhyan Mansell
Yes he’s an indigenous youngster. Played alongside Tarryn Thomas from the Kangas. And yes hopefully Jay Lockhart can vouch for his ability.

2020 Contracts and List Details
Great news with LJ or “Jacko” extended until 2022. I was looking at the 2021 contracts and thought it would be great to get him extended like Kozzzy and Riv. Now move to lock away Oliver, Gawn and Salem. Oliver should get 4-year deal, Gawn and Salem 3-year deals. Salem may be highly chased but I think 3-years is fair enough.

2020 Contracts and List Details
Bedford and Jordan should get 1-year deal. Agree Lockhart should be promoted to primary list and get 1–yr deal. Mitch Brown should get another year. Starred in last round and very handy key position player. Even if he played at Casey, he’s better than most. Chandler doesn’t fit anywhere. I think he’s going to be delisted.

Matt Suckling
Ex Hawks premiership player. Left footer. 32 year old. Yes yes yes. Isaac Smith they cry. sorry Marty Suckling. Depends on his body and willingness to go on. I’d rather look at young blokes who are hungry for the chance. so it’s a “Yeh- nahhhhh”

Rhyan Mansell
Unlikely to get drafted. Good type of mid but behind quite a few other youngsters. Should progress to SANFL next year. Lachie McNeil is one I would also see as a chance though list spots are tight.
-
Rhyan Mansell
Instant nickname - “Nigel” of course. Shows my age !!!

Injury Plagued Nietschke Earns Rookie Spot
Honour in today’s footy world. Good call Dees. Better than the Buckley and the Filthy pies treatment of Stephenson and Treloar.
-
Farewell Oscar McDonald
Nailed it . But Georgiades and Mcinerney as rookies destroyed him and that was the final belated nail.
-
Rhyan Mansell
Here’s a name that I’m sure will get drafted and will be a consistent AFL player. A late bargain draft pick or a rookie pick 20 year old Rhyan Mansell moved to the SANFL to the Eagles (Woodville West Torrens) in 2020. He had played as a youngster 17,18,19 for Nth Launceston in 3 premierships. In 2020 for the Eagles, he showed he is a fierce competitor, driven to win the footy. His tackling is AFL standard. He has good pace. Run and carry. His kicking and skills are excellent. He hits targets. He is a good mark. He has 2nd efforts. In the SANFL Grand Final, he was a key part with 19 possessions, 8 marks. He has played across half back to use his pace and skills. I see his determination like Trent Rivers. They have the “Will” to compete. JT should have his name on one of those yellow sticky notes.

Jackson Trengove
Agree. If Tom mcd had gone and availed $600k a year, we could have got Trengove for $300k half the price. Same role. Ultimately, it’s a No
-
Will Papley
Obviously hard to gauge young Will Papley. For the Dees, he may be an option as a rookie pick or perhaps offer a Casey contract for 2021 if he’s not drafted.

2020 Phantom Drafts & Rankings
Great work GD98. ✅ Jack Carroll and Bailey Laurie. (Definitely ?????). But I think Freo may choose Carroll over Chapman. Baldwin. He’s a tough one. His injuries will make it hard to know who takes the punt. I’d rather Jackson Callow if we speculated on a young forward. I’m still grabbing pace and skill in our “#28” 3rd pick Certainly JT will have Macrae, Carroll, Perkins on his top line then Laurie, Cook, Winder, Maher, Ford, Poulter in his next bracket. I see you had Dees looking to bid on Errol Gulden. Either Gulden or Brandon Walker would be a good bid and force the Swans/Freo to use up picks/points.

2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
I haven’t changed my view over the last few months. Wanted to again highlight Eddie Ford from Western Jets. He played a good game in the Futures match in the G in 2019. Very strong at the footy. Great mark. Evasive. Skilled. Apparently the best player at the Jets since Callan Ward (as good as Rayner was one description). Half forward to start but definitely has midfield elite qualities. Unfortunately we didn’t see him this year as he would have been a standout. JT would have him on list short list imv.

2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
I saw Isiah Winder play senior footy v East Perth on the WAFL TV and immediately thought he was a very good fit for us. Great skills. Excellent pace. Dynamic with the footy. Could play half forward or half back or yes even on the wing.
