Farewell Christian Petracca
Petracca for GC pick 6 & 17 No. No. No. with extra compo and allocated father son and academy priority, they drop to 11 and 25 most likely. It’s either Trac & pick 27 FOR Humphrey & pick 14 Or a bare minimum Trac FOR 6 & 14 plus a player like Rogers. Or TRAC STAYS AT MFC Trac is an elite player. Read his bio and 2025 performances.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Going overseas? Wasn’t Clarry going overseas?? No it was just to Sydney, in fact Blacktown. The freefall has been severe and ugly as you’d expect in some emotional times. Getting told you’re effectively redundant does hurt Bang. Bang. Bang. In 2021 👏👏👏 Boom. Boom. Kaboom !! In 2025 🧨

Farewell Judd McVee
“Pick 23”. Ok. Turns into pick 32 after the compensation and protection of Academy and father/son picks. Probably just fair as he walked out as an uncontested player. Dees have now 2nd round 23, 27, 41, 3rd round 60, 4th round 65.

Farewell Judd McVee
The Dockers are currently due to start the draft with picks No.12 and 33, though McVee's value is expected to fall somewhere in between those initial selections. But Fremantle is exploring ways to shuffle its top picks in order to satisfy Melbourne in a trade Freo are trumpeting out loud that McVee is a high quality player, returning home and has chosen the Fockers. They’re saying it’s another sign that quality wants to join their club. His talents are being exulted by Freo faithful on the socials

The List Manager Tim Lamb
Yes I agree. Trac has 4 years to run. He’s a star player and we need to receive appropriate high quality compensation. Unfortunately once a player nominates they are leaving, it get done. If the Dees tough talk, they have to stand by it.

The List Manager Tim Lamb
With the likely 💔Trac and Oliver trade departures (and with May likely now to stay) here’s the list segmented into likely positional structures. Of course, players are flexible and can shift like Rivers to running mid or Laurie to small forward. I’ve add Mihocek. Hopefully we can get Max Heath onboard too For me, the need for skilled running midfielders will be the primary draft priority MFC TEAM update key defenders: May, Tmcd, Adams tall defenders: Lever, D.Turner, Howes med/sml/running defenders: Rivers, Bowey, Salem, Lindsay, AMW inside Mids: Viney, Langford , Laurie outside Mids: Langdon, Windsor, Woey jnr Mid/fwd: Kozzzy, Kolt, Sparrow, Culley key forwards: Mihocek , JVR, Petty, Jefferson , Kentfield, Johnson med-tall forwards: Fritsch, Melksham, Mcadam small forwards: Chandler, Sharp, Henderson, Mentha Rucks: Gawn, Campbell

The List Manager Tim Lamb
You mean the players that he retained on long term contracts that now he’s trying to negotiate for them to leave … as we have guys like Trac and Clarry in $1.3m a year each. Irony is he’s trying to get us the best deal to try to salvage his long term 7 and 8 year contracts. Guys like Viney and May who got extensions out to be 35year old at end of term. Not sure he’s to be exactly applauded with such gusty. I like the AFL possibly introducing a 5- year contract max term by the way.

Troy Chaplin MFC interim coach 2025
McRae!! Chaplin is under contract. It’s not even a promotion !!! Or do we assume Chaplin or his manager have been out entertaining offers. Radford and Bassett already gone. 👑 King will bring in his “team” for 2026.

Farewell Christian Petracca
Round 1. Lamb. They need to give us the best deal for Trac. “They need to satisfy us”. Craig Cameron. “Humphrey is not for trade”. Ok. So it’s a stalemate. We don’t want just picks. We don’t need Ainsworth and a pick 17, that ends up as pick “24”. Trac is contracted for 4 more years. FFS. If they want him, pay up or farrrrk offf.

The List Manager Tim Lamb
Thanks @Demonland Lamb came across strongly. Hopefully he means what he says and we negotiate hard. If they want our best players, “they” need to come up with the right offers.

The List Manager Tim Lamb
Change is exciting !!! Yes if managed strongly ? Clarry to the Giants?. Ok if we get fair compensation. But I’m struggling if it’s Clarry at the Pies. If we pay $700k a season for him to play for the Pies, I’d be gutted. ? Trac to the Suns? They need to satisfy us. That’s good. That’s strong. We need to get a player and picks. Like to get Humphrey if it’s possible Judd McVee !!😠 Very disappointing. Lamb confirmed as many have the Dees trying for 18 months to get him signed. Very disappointing that he’s going Mihocek brings us experience and solid citizen. It’s a player and a teacher role 👏 Max Heath? Indicates he’d like to join us and his manager has spoken to the Dees. No contact with the Saints. Hopefully it gets done to be a succession plan for our current legend big Max Gawn 🤞

The Bailey Humphrey Thread
@Adam The God Agree here. Given Flanders had chosen the Saints, the Dees should push for Humphrey. Was ok with Humphrey and pick 16 FOR Trac and pick 24. That still favours the Suns imv. Although Trac will be 30 at the start of next year, Humphrey went missing in a few games (especially the final v Lions) and can be inconsistent. Trac is a proven match winner and has performed on the big stage. If it’s not Humphrey, then I’d be ok with Trac staying at MFC.

Melbourne Storm
@WERRIDEE 1st half 22:23 sets …up 22 to 12. You win if you do the little things right. But 2nd Half Storm imploded under pressure - that’s the learning !!! Handling Pressure in NRL and AFL is a constant in the premiership X Tui over the line … drop (try x) that probably would have won the game ?? X Papa going airball speccy drop ?? BB try X Warbrick drop … mann tackle - turnover BB try X Warbrick drop through legs - Turnover BB try X Papa behind pass. Wishart drops it X after 60sec setup, Papa runs it on 6th !!! no kick !! Turnover X Six to go. 15 metres out !!! Push to Coates on the edge ! Why?? Turnover X break 20 out … 45 seconds !!! Papa !! Walsh tackle X 11/18 completed sets ⭐️Walsh ⭐️deserved best on field. Surprised his shoulder charge in first half wasn’t 10 in the bin !!!

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Our drafting priority? Young players with ability to run and who can kick. Players who you can see have AFL quality. Here’s the names that should be on the JT hit list if kicking skill is on top of King’s wishlist First rounders Josh Lindsay, Sam Cumming, Sam Grlj, Jacob Farrow, Sullivan Robey & Rory Wright 2nd rounders Blake Oudshoorn-Bennier, Jett Dahlitz, Felix Kneipp, Oskar Taylor, Noah Roberts-Thomson & Harrison Bridge 3rd rounders Hunter Wright, Finn Davis & Jackson Voss (mature age VFL) And of course there’s Toby Sinnema too as our NGA prospect If the Dees are planning to execute under the new Steven King run and create and move the ball quickly, then they have to be able to get better ball users through the middle and kicks that hit targets or at least to kick to advantage.

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Grlj has more Zac Butters vibes. His pace and sidestep enables him to evade and run into space.

The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
Agree. It definitely is an improvement in the interim and a plan B option.

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
@DeeSpencer whilst he’s from SA, there is something about Dahlitz that screams AFL quality. He’s got good marking judgement, excellent kick and has a little bit of the Trent Rivers energy. Interested to see if he’s in our sights this year as an early 2nd round pick if we have one. He’s exactly the transition type player to suit our future plans.

Assistant Coaches in 2026
Chaplin is under contract for 2026. He should go back to the defensive coach role.

@Demonstone McClure 💩posted this without sense of being completely [censored] wrong with his anecdote and that he could edit redo or restart his video post … “They hit the Titanic … and they didn’t even know it”.

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
@adonski thanks. Yes if we can get a top “6” live pick, then it’s definitely time then to look at players like Josh Lindsay. half back elite disposal Samuel Grlj. midfield runner with very good disposal Sullivan Robey. impact mid with skills and can go forward and kick goals All Victorian lads. I’m now very nervous about the WA and SA lads but that’s just because of recent Jackson, ANB and McVee events !!

Media Madness
Bang !! 👏👏She didn’t miss From Caro: just an extract below Full article in the link …! Geelong’s season-long ticking time bomb that has been Bailey Smith finally exploded last Monday for all to see and the fallout is far from finished. The collateral damage has spread from Patrick Dangerfield, the captain who has worked since late last year to nurture Smith’s talent and protect him from himself, the 2025 club champion Max Holmes, the coach Chris Scott who had again found excuses for him after he abused photographer Alison Wynd and the Cats chief Steve Hocking who has remained silent since the Mad Monday disaster. The so-called rock-solid culture at Kardinia Park, long respected and with few peers since Frank Costa and Brian Cook led the club out of the wilderness, looks fragile. The club famous for turning lost boys into premiership players has hit a fork in the road with Smith and seems at a genuine loss to know what to do about him. Ditto the AFL. There have been several occasions this season when Smith has been hard to find and even if the club’s leaders had wanted to address his behaviour in the days between Mad Monday and Thursday’s best and fairest count, most at the Cattery had no idea of Smith’s whereabouts. Geelong’s response after the club’s annual post-season dress-up – once a fun and largely original diversion from the brutal realities of competitive sport – was to release a generic apology after 48 hours of argy-bargy with head office. No individual put their name to the statement which declared costumes would be banned forthwith. Frankly, it was a pathetic response which completely missed the point. Even allowing for the Anti-Defamation Commission’s condemnation of the three players who turned up as Kneecap; the real point, of course, was Smith. Smith offended the gay community, briefly dragging down one of the game’s most respected leaders, the unwitting Dangerfield. He once again offended women across the industry and beyond by targeting me with a disgusting social media post. And the post was only taken down after my female colleague Jacqui Reed complained to the club. Geelong’s media team has been MIA throughout September, and where was football boss Andrew Mackie on Monday?Maybe it is because Smith has been occasionally unreachable, but where the AFL is concerned he remains untouchable. Just ask young Giants Toby McMullin and Cooper Hamilton who were suspended for two weeks after dressing up as the Twin Towers 12 months ago at the deeply disappointing GWS Wacky Wednesday. On a personal note, I probably wouldn’t have had a major problem with Max Holmes dressing up as me, even though it would have been nice to have been given the heads-up as we had spoken during the previous week. After the event he has been in touch twice and did apologise if he had given offence. But I did have a problem with Smith’s social media post and an emoji my daughter had to explain to me. Judging from comments which came my way from people across the industry – the majority being women – I wasn’t alone. This is not a case of professional outrage. How dare Smith get away with sending such an insulting and sexist message to aspiring females with strong opinions working in the media or elsewhere in the AFL. Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
Welcome aboard Brody … aka BRODEE!! 💙❤️ Dees would like him to play say min 15 games per season over the next 2 years, aim for 30 Goals and help develop and teach the young development forwards JVR, Jeffo and Kentfield. Smart business to take a hard working player who is able to and has been playing AFL in a winning culture. Like we did with Lewis from the Hawks.
-
Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
Agree. 2 year deal. Solid citizen. He’s 33 at the start of 2026 but brings footy smarts and is a proven goalkicker. Like our Melksham and like Gunston at the Hawks, smart players can defy the age barrier and still continue to play good footy.
