  3. Dees had won the 1964 GF and were top of the table before the clubs administration self combusted and sacked Norm Smith. It destroyed the culture. Saddened in the last 24 hours of the Bartlett- Roffey โŒtexting rubbish and now Steven May out drinking โŒand getting into a fight with Melksham โŒ Culture is not a word. Itโ€™s actions. Clearly not on point right now. Pert and Goody need to read the riot act both the players and to the Pres.
  4. New headline โ€ฆ optimistic view โ€œSteven May is taking 3 weeks off to fully recover from concussion protocolsโ€. ๐Ÿคฃ โ€œDees want May to be fully recovered before the big clash with the Lions.โ€๐Ÿคฃ

  6. Thatโ€™s if the leaders were at the table โ€ฆnot sure they were but weโ€™ll hear more if yes then itโ€™s Liam Kelly ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
  7. Joeboy - harsh but fair
  8. Gawn deserved the 10. He tried to carry us to a win but even his huge frame couldnโ€™t lift the 12-13 teammates underperforming.
  9. FB - Rivers May Lever HB -Salem Petty Bowey C - Brayshaw Viney Langdon HF - Harmes Jackson ANB FF - Fritsch B.Brown Pickett Ruc - Gawn Oliver Petracca Int - Jordon, Sparrow, Spargo, Bedford Sub - Baker In. May Rivers Bedford outs. Tomlinson M.Brown Hunt Lucky to stay in โ€ฆ BBB, Spargo, ANB. Bedford needs to be given the chance. Tomlinson could stay in if Petty doesnโ€™t come up. Like us, Pies are strong in defense and midfield. Mids group is Adams Degoey Pendles Sidebottom Lipinski and imv Daicos will be a star. Moore Crisp Howe Maynard Quaynor make up a very good defensive line. Their forwards are just average โ€ฆ I think we need Petty for Cox and May for Mihocek. Lever takes Henry. Rivers takes Ginnivan.
  10. Certainly need improvement in conversion and connection with our tall forwards. And if theyโ€™re not marking it, they should at least contest to bring it to ground. Bbb and Weid have been very poor across. Tmcd is strongly and more contested in his marking. Whilst not focussed upon, our output and goals from small forwards also needs to be addressed. Pickett 15 goals (6behinds) Spargo 5 goals (8 bdhinds) ANB 2 goals (9 behinds) Kozzy should be a 40+ goalkicker. Heโ€™s been very good in patches but needs to stay in forward 50 and occasionally venture upfield. His danger is within scoring distance. Spargo and ANB contribute indirectly but need to be much more dangerous and score themselves. Often inside 30 metres they look to handball rather than score. Iโ€™d like to see Bedford given a real run and not as a full time medi sub. Bedford and Kozzzy inside 50 would be good to have for 3-4 weeks. At the moment Cameron (30) Bailey (26) McCarthy (18) have amassed 74 goals for the Lions. Thatโ€™s a fair differential in scoring power.
  11. Watching MitchLewis v Pies yesterday, couldnโ€™t happen but think about how important desire and a positive attitude are. His intensity and drive to win the footy was great to see. Unfortunately polls apart to Sam. Sam is a great young man. Iโ€™ve met Sam on several occasions. Heโ€™s friendly and well educated well spoken. Love to see your daughter bring him home as her partner. But he lacks a true competitor warrior type attitude. Watching him in the VFL on the weekend and couldnโ€™t help but think heโ€™s not going to make it. His aggression and intensity isnโ€™t natural.
  12. I think itโ€™s 1 win 2 losses v top 8 teams. 9 wins vs teams 9-18. We need to big 2nd half to remain on top. 17-5 is the minimum goal right now.
  13. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/demons-humbled-again-as-young-bloods-shock-reigning-premiers-20220604-p5ar37.html not sure A.Wu and S.Goodwin will appraise the game in the same way โ€œClayton Oliver, Christian Petracca and Gawn all had productive nights but the Deesโ€™ forward line was impotentโ€. Agree from me. Lots of โ€œifsโ€ and should haves !! Many many passengers right now who are just doing ok. I agree in key stats, the game was very even but Swans executed better under pressure. Handballing to a teammate within 1 metre of often not constructive imv. Umpiring โ€ฆ FFS. Lots of Swans goals from frees or umps distorted view. Reidโ€™s mark ?? Papley pushed Hunt in the back? Gulden held?? Papley in the back ??? Ladhams barrels Oliver on 3/4 siren - no 50 !!! FFS
  14. I agree ANB was better but Iโ€™m still not happy with ANB and Spargo. They contribute barely enough and very very low direct scoreboard impact.
  15. โ€œLuke Dunstan 12 kicks 12 handballs 28 disposalsโ€ um. My sons maths teacher will have to explain this to me!!
  16. โ€œexample, let's focus on sticking tackles and handling the ball cleanly under pressure. Improvements in these two areas will go a long way to fixing our forward line woes. BBB has lost form for sure, but he's not going to regain it in a substandard second tier comp, nor in our senior team with the ball being bombed into the arms of McCartin all night long eitherโ€ queanbeyan - youโ€™ve nailed it !!!
  17. Outs. . F.Umbles. L.Ittlehandballstonoone T.Acklingovertheshoulder ins. S.Ure-handling. K.Ickstoadangerousspotinsidefifty S.Coringpower R.Uthless also needs to be recalled after missing this year so far
  18. If there was one key point out of last night โ€ฆ second point, we seem to be getting first hands on the ball around stoppages, but cough it up almost immediately due to handball merry go round again. Freo weโ€™re very good with their first handball going to a guy 10-15m away rather than our tactic of handball going to a guy 3m away. Think we need to lookwider than the immediate contest to avoid the constant turnovers in tight
  19. Agree. Itโ€™s not the number of free kicks but where and why? Some puzzling decisions and kept Swans in the game. FFS itโ€™s totally frustrating
  20. 6 Gawn great leader daylight 5 Brayshaw always around 4 Fritsch only effective forward 3 Viney huge heart 2 Jordon part of best 18 1 Oliver ( polarizating gameโ€ฆ he was good but Iโ€™m expecting great) handballs far too much
  21. Ins. clean ball handling scoring power Connection forward of Centre outs. sloppy little handballs to ankles or missed kicking to the forward pockets instead of the โ€œhotspotโ€(top the square) tackling over the shoulder
  22. Gawn and โ€ฆ ummm
  23. Footy club will let him develop and get some further experience. His footy skills, goalkicking and smarts are his strengths. Intensity and AFL quality pace are to be developed. Fits probably along the half forward / Spargo type position at the moment.
