Interesting phantom draft. Owens comes under the Saints NGA allocations. They’d be majorly [censored]-off if MFC grabbed him at “19”. (Saints fans still can’t believe they missed on Petracca). Owens plays like Jake Stringer from my view. An agile forward (190cm) who could rotate through stints in the midfield. He’s a good player, through strong aerial skills and is good in the contest. I thought he’d be mid 2nd round (25-35 range) but given he wins strong contested footy, he may appeal to our 🏆JT⭐️.

Really enjoyed listening to Goodys journey from his Day 1 and building relationships with the players and with the club. Great insights to the man and the coaching role. Learnings. New ideas. Fulfillment. His Mentors. Team culture. Leadership. Ownership by the players. Love the openness and more relaxed style in Goody’s conversation. Obviously he’s feeling more content after season 2021 and is definitely in a “happy place”. Love it that Goody recognised the pain and the raw emotions of the long suffering Dees supporters, and how the premiership has brought such happiness and joy to all Demon members and supporters. Recruitment. Goodys echoes what we hear about the MFC (JT) drafting philosophy. High character and competitive nature … willing to compete every day. Thank you Goody. Thank you MFC. Really looking forward to finally hearing “Goody’s GF winning coachs speech”. Given he now can really have more time (then the usual 90 seconds post the GF), I’m looking forward to how he has built the team culture and how it all clicked in 2021.

Journalists seem to have correctly classified our players and shown we have good depth and stars across all areas. Agree that youngsters like Howes and Chesser would be excellent additions as Demonlanders have added. A young development key forward like WA’s Jack Williams could be an option with the pick “37” as it currently stands as the Dees have plenty of time to put into development.

Chesser is probably one in the frame for the Dees 1st pick. Connor Macdonald is another impressive midfielder with versatility and might go earlier than expected.

Agree. The success rate within the top 30 picks has been the sweet spot. Trading of players and picks has worked to try to get two and three picks within that range . JT has nailed these with stars within the “top 10” and then backed up with successful 2nd rounders.

MFC can give him and other youngsters the time to develop and not be rushed like we did with other draftees. The luxury of a strong list helps us bring along youngsters at the right pace. Of course having Choco on board is a big bonus ❤️💙🏆

Yes either Draper or Sonsie as 1st round sliders would be very good additions for MFC. Versatile midfield or half forward types. Phantom feasibility is given each have been injured in 2021 and had reduced testing exposure, it’s possible they drift down to possibly be available. I thought we’d only have 4 picks including matching and including Woey junior
