This kid Verrall looks like the type to develop over the next 2-3 years. I like his size and ability win the footy. Not just a tap ruckman. His highlights show a good footy brain as well. Hope we can keep him interested and happy whilst maybe not getting a MFC game. Interesting to see if he gets his body built up that we might have him get a few development games to allow a rest either for Grundy / Gawn later in the campaign around rounds 18-20.

Really surprised this kid didn’t get drafted. He looked good in national championships for Vic Country. He’s from Maffra and like to see him given a chance at Casey. Youngsters with pace to break lines are a good asset for any team. Dees will need to look for more midfield pace in the next draft imv.

Talent and needs fulfilled. Certainly put in place the succession planning across ruck, key forward and key defence with youngsters Verrell, Jefferson and Adams. I think Sestan was just that wildcard who was too good to pass up. Raw ability and different pathway than the standard NAB League. Like to see more Mids with pace next year in the draft with our picks. Two 1st rounders should get JT a nice bounty once again. JT 🥇

While not father-son eligible, he is the son of Jacob Schuback, who was selected by Adelaide in the 2001 Draft and played seven games for the Crows. If I had to choose a rookie , I’d definitely try to recruit Jonti Schuback from Gippsland Power. He showed in the national championships that he can use his pace and skill and footy smarts as well as any of the young mids. Schuback can run and deliver, using either right or left foot skills. I’m amazed he wasn’t drafted. He would fit into our midfield depth and develop. Yes @Lord Travis I agree Kaleb Smith would have to been a name in our list. I prefer a few others but at pick “37” he’d represent a solid choice. Good pace. Good skill.

Still some good talented youngsters available I’d be hopeful for any of Brayden George, Jakob Ryan, Olli Hotton or Sam Gilbey but they’ll be likely to be gone. I think we need more running power so maybe youngsters like Jaxon Binns, Coby Burgiel, Harvey Gallagher, Toby McMullin or Caleb Mitchell as a smoky.

A young raw key position forward. Jefferson takes some good marks and has a simple kicking technique. He drops a few as well and looked awkward in his second efforts. Like a young Max King is how I’d describe Jefferson. We need to be patient. He needs lots of protein shakes, gym work for 3 years and a determination to succeed. Drafting young key forwards is a risky choice. From Cook to Weideman to Hulett, we’ve not been successful. Yet with BBB on one leg and Tmcd on the other side of 33, the outlook for a future of a JVR and Jefferson combo is the opportunity that ultimately looked the deciding motivation for JT.

Yes maybe they should then compare 11-20 with 21-30 etc. … I think the outcomes are obviously better for lower picks.
