  1. Cotchin kicks Selwood - nothing Hawkins clearly fakes a push in the back - nothing Hawkins clearly pushes Harris Andrew’s in the back - nothing and Brad Scott wants people to understand the dissent rule. Get the other clear cut rules sorted imv.
  2. He’s a FLOP TO “fall, move, or hang in a loose and ungainly way”
  3. Something we used to be really interested in and desperate to find future stars for the Dees to draft. But now we leave it to the Kangas, Hawks, Bombers and Pies supporters to worry about. Now it’s merely a passing interest for the Dees. We have our stars and can look to JT to weave more magic. Hallelujah!!!
  4. Likely ins. Brown Dunstan J.Smith outs. Weid (omitted unlucky) Viney & Lever H&S. I think we got Dunstan for this exact reason. He provides immediate walk in cover for if / when Viney, Trac or oliver are rested or unavailable. Not at their lofty standards but he delivers contested footy and experience. Sparrow also gets more minutes in Centre rotation. hunt may j.smith Bowey petty rivers Brayshaw Dunstan Langdon Anb Tmcd Spargo pickett brown Fritsch gawn Trac oliver Jackson sparrow Harmes Jordon medi sub Bedford emerg. Melksham Tomlinson Weideman
  5. Jaxon Binns is a Berwick lad who has impressed in the early games with the Stingrays. Outside mid with good skills and pace. Was part of Melbourne Academy as a youngster.
  6. Good call DD36. I think Goody has been a fan of Hibbo and backs him in. Agree he’s lost a yard of pace but his experience and positioning is his strength. For all of us, it’s amazing to think we have strength and cover and developing youngsters across all our positions. What a change 😊😊😊😊😊
  7. Hibberd May Lever Bowey Petty Salem int. Rivers Cover: Hunt, Tomlinson Brayshaw back to midfield/wing premiership formation Jordon to the interchange (Jackson, Rivers, Harmes, Jordon) Hibbo’s final year and Hunt has shown he can fit into this role. Hunt was very good v Giants and managed small defensive role.
  8. Umps again were poor in game v Giants not only due to the [censored] count but the ridiculous 50 metre penalties. So that’s 18-24 count against us last night. It was 14-23 within 6 minutes to go. That’s 4 out of 5 games we are behind the free kick count.
  9. I agree Petty was very good. Great to see him back. Stats don’t backup his value to command the back half alongside May and Lever. Whilst he’s still young, he also calls out to others to cover space. His spoils and physical contests immobilized the Giants forwards. Great to have him signed up longer term to 2025
  10. Port actually have a supporter base and contribute to the crowd. From what I saw in the tv, decent representation from port in the crowd so probably 25000 blues and 8000 port fans. That’s not an amazing blues supporter effort either.
  11. Bedford and Tomlinson clearly too good for this level. Unfortunate for both to be not getting AFL matches but cannot fault our tall defenders and small forwards right now.
  12. Watched the replay. 3rd qtr. Hill slips into Levers arm. Lever puts his hands on his head. May does a very quick shake of the head and is confused why it’s 50. Oliver is seen to slightly raise his hands in a somewhat questioning manner. “50. Umpire dissent” . Umpire 9 Stevic proclaims. In Summary - Matt Stevic is a tool. That happened countless other times by both sides last night and again today in Blues v Port but no penalty. Dissent should be saved for actually persistent questioning verbally or through an excessive physical remonstrating action. Stevic got it wrong again.
  13. Spargo - “best game ever” Dees - “fantastic team effort” Goalkicking accuracy - “key to success”. umpire 34 - “suburban footy beckons “ 50- metre dissent rule - “a farrrrken joke”
  14. Love this post. So many supporters outraged by this non rule. It’s designed to help the umps BUT actually leads to more frustration and confusion. Tom McDonald complained about the Giants knocking the ball out of bounds. Free kick to Giants for arguing. Lever disappointed the Hill slipped into his arm and gets a 50 for showing disappointment. Himmelberg complains that he reckoned he touched the ball when Petty marked it. Nothing. Himmelberg complains when he tackles Hunt and it’s a ball up. Nothing. What’s the rule ?? And the “stand” rule for players on the mark. It’s completely inconsistent. Some umpires take 3-4 seconds after the player has played on, leaving the player on the mark helpless like they’re in concrete boots.
  15. Nervous week ahead Werridee. BBB could replace either Weid or Tmcd. Tmcd stays in probably on sentiment as he and Weid were probably about even on the night. Toss of the coin but Weid might miss out. Goody showed with Tomlinson that despite form, he wants his best premiership 22 back in formation.
  16. I think umpire 34 had another shocker. She umpired at Dees v Suns and was so biased against the Dees , not only giving wrong decisions and inconsistent decisions all night. Lucky the players can’t complain. I support the diversity but need to call out the poor sub standard umpiring.
  17. https://www.afl.com.au/video/743556/fritsch-goal-caps-off-brilliant-end-to-end-piece-of-play?videoId=743556&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1650110095001 Sparrow. Loved his run and continued running. As described… “selfless, brilliant”. We were right behind it and stood to applaud Tommy Sparrow’s effort. His goal !!
  18. 20,791 I was at the game and I’d reckon it was 291 giants fans and 20,500 Dees supporters. And 3 imposters as umpires 🤦🏻‍♂️
  19. Sorry Balls but I was at the game and could not see Tmcd in our best 6 players or indeed the best 18 Dees on the night. Team effort all night yet to be honest Tmcd was poor in the first half (1 kick, 1 handball) and lifted to have some impact in the 2nd half. Still could hold his spot with a toss of the coin between Weid and Tmcd if Goody sees BBB back in.
  20. 6 - May - absolutely sensational defender all night and rebounded well 5 - Gawn - stood tall in a very psychical encounter 4- Petracca - just made things happen 3- Viney - strong at the contest and in the tackle, and his goal topped off a good night 2- Pickett - pure excitement 1- Spargo - best game ever imv, with more energy and smart footy apologies to Harmesy, Clarry and Fritsch who were also very good.
  21. Salem. Hibbo. Turner. Injured. Bbrown. Suspension Howes? Rested??
  22. 5-stars again this week. Gus and Gawny are media ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Love the 20%discount offer from Choco on Sherrin Precision footballs.
  23. It’s a big YES from me in the 2022 jumper
  24. Hope to see Melksham and Mitch Brown back in this week.
  25. Yes through a blanket over the top 5 players including Karen Paxman. Paxman could conceivably have won the B&F.
