  1. God i hope so. Mitch Lewis from the Hawks would also be good.
  2. Papley definitely fills a need that we have, i just think the Swans are asking a bit much for him, and some of the money he's being offered by other teams apparently is pretty high as well.
  3. I wouldn't put too much stock in it mate, this time of year every these things are all over the place. just found it interesting that i heard that today and then read the post about a meeting requested by the Swans, seemed to line up.
  4. I've heard a rumour the Swans have some interest in Mitch Hannan, perhaps that's where this rumour comes from?
  5. Anything to help keep the little man syndrome at bay ET
  6. Freo are off their heads if they don't ask the question of Gus. kids a gun.
  7. Had felt for a while like he was playing us to get a better deal from the pies, which is a shame because he would have been great in our forward line
  8. the real question is does a combo of Stephens, Sharp and potentially a steak knives player from the Giants equal to be more value than Hayden Young or Caleb Serong, I do wonder if the Bombers could be tempted to trade picks 5 & 9 (mooted compensation for Daniher) for pick 3 and our 2020 first rounder - we then back ourselves to improve if they would and we could get say Kemp, young or Serong at 5 and Lachie Ash or even Kemp at 9 i think that'd be incredible dream result would be Young at 5 and Ash at 9
  9. I think a lot of teams will understandably be throwing big money at Jeremy Cameron, the one i'd be making a big offer to is Ben King. it's a little risky but the kid is going to be a star in my opinion, and is very likely to want to come back to Vic. i think put 850k x4 under his nose and offer the Suns pick 3 and Billy Stretch and see if they can be tempted to move him a year early.
  10. I don't hate the idea of looking at Levi Casbault should he decide to leave, not a long term option but can take a clunk
  11. It's a little tough to judge our key forwards this year because they had rubbish supply, it was either not enough supply, or plenty but huge numbers and horrible kicks. i reckon Jeremy cameron would have found our forward line tricky this year
  12. i don't think there is anything to the rumors about Gus but if we hypothetically did trade him, i think we'd end up regretting it as much as the Tyson/Salem deal
  13. I think Taylor based on the interview on the website will just take best player at pick 3 rather than positional drafting, so will be really interesting to see who they think is the third best player, makes me think we're a decent chance to draft Serong or Young as they seem to be ranked 3-4 by most people
  14. I think there are some great people in the media who can provide some great insight and content but Kane isn't one of them, hard to take too much of what he says seriously.
  15. Geez he's an impressive guy.
  16. Geez i'm glad i'm not the one who has to make this decision.
  17. would be a fair effort to be slower.
  18. Wow that's rough. i'm sure he's a very talented young man but that comment has soured my feelings towards him hahahahhaa
  19. geez Stephens is a smooth mover.
  20. Comes across like he's playing for a better deal from the Pies and it's backfiring because they aren't coming to the party so he's being forced to consider his options
  21. I'd say he's an upgrade on what we have in terms of depth, even though he might not be a great bloke.
  22. would you be inclined to split the pick or think we're better off banking on someone like Young at 3?
  23. I'm sure we would have enquired about some support for Tom up forward, though it doesn't seem like there is a huge amount on the market this year.
  24. thanks very much for your detailed thoughts. it sounds like we couldn't go wrong with Young at pick 3. if we decide to keep that pick. as you've mentioned a few times Flanders is a really interesting one because he just seems to be rising up calculations all the time, seems a really appealing package as a player. if we were to draft young it'd be handy having him and Salem setting up plays off half back with their kicking.
  25. I don't doubt his leadership, i think he's the most tradable of our inside midfield group, and there is a decent argument to be made to trade one of them out for some quality on the outside
