Farewell Sam Weideman
you are wrong to start with, you're just not smart enough to see it. every single forward has improved... reckon the forwards coach deserves some props for that.

Farewell Sam Weideman
Players seeking out mentors outside of the club in addition to their internal coaching is extremely common, the Saints clearly have their reasons for not allowing that to happen, but this sort of thing is extremely common. Jesse Hogan met with Wayne Carey when at the Dees, Jack Watts with Jobe Watson, Petracca with Pendlebury.. the list goes on know what you're talking about before you pot coaches. the club rates Stafford extremely highly.

Farewell Sam Weideman
Mate, every single forward has improved this year including Weideman. if you watch his VFL form you see his game has taken a leap, his inability to translate to AFL level has nothing to do with coaching, it's a mental challenge for him. having uninformed digs at coaches when your team is 11-1 and just about every player has improved makes you look very silly.

Farewell Sam Weideman
Weid is doing alot right, it's just not quite sticking. we've gotta back him in, it's so close i reckon. he's getting both hands to the ball regaularly, and he's bringing it to ground. .

GAMEDAY: Rd 12 vs Brisbane
Oliver and Lever and Riv have been getting all the attention top of the table, big game come on down Christian Petracca, got a feeling he's going to be best on by some distance tonight

TEAMS: Rd 12 vs Brisbane
we're a systems based team and while we will feel the loss of Langdon, i think our 22 is well and truely good enough to beat the Lions.

My Round 12 Preview and Prediction
My bad. Dees by 186, Fagan Sacked, Bulldogs still somehow flag favourites.

The 2021 Rising Star Thread
Does he think Trent Rivers is Luke Jackson!? the bloke is smashed basically every 360 episode. any wonder he supports Essendon really.

My Round 12 Preview and Prediction
Dees by 10. close game to the end, but we will strangle them

CHANGES: Rd 12 vs Brisbane
I'd love to see RIv go up to the wing, and Bowey give us some run off half back

AFL Mid Season Draft 2021
Glad to see we're looking at Key defender. are we likely to use both picks or just the 1?

The 2021 Rising Star Thread
I am really interested to see what position Rivers is playing in 3 years time, will he still be at Half back, or transition into being a winger

2021 Off season targets
Would be nice to raid a few of the power clubs who've spent years raiding the MFC, anyone at the Pies or Hawks sick of losing?

POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Western Bulldogs
It's no surprise our backline has been strong with two of our very best leaders down there in May and Lever, one who has captained a club in his own right, and the other who's going to be right up there for being our next captain. It's hard to blame people for not trusting the MFC. until we're lifting the cup, it's possible people won't fully jump on the wagon. though if we account for the Lions in similar fashion to the Dogs our credentials will be undeniable.

Adam Cerra
Just the rumour that's doing the rounds mate.

Adam Cerra
In my opinion it's speculation based on the theory we'd have another bad year this year and have to pay overs to keep Petracca, Oliver, Salem, Lever, and Gawn who we needed to re-sign and while it's difficult to know without actually seeing the books, it does appear all of those listed above have taken comfortably less money than they might have gotten on the open market

10-goal wins
I think the scoring is something that will improve in time as well, we've clearly made defending a priority as it should be but this is 3-6 months into learning a fairly new system, i am very confident by seasons end we will be a much better side than we are now. i've never felt so confident this team can win the premiership. we want for nothing, talent and buy in all over the field and selection headaches all over the place.

May’s Kick-in From Behind
I think it was Leigh Matthews who said "if you've got a good game plan that works, you can tell the opposition what you're going to do, and if you execute it well enoguh, they won't be able to stop you"

CHANGES: Rd 12 vs Brisbane
I think McLuggage could well be in Harmes Crosshairs this week, and if so he may end up spending a fair bit of time on the wing I reckon it's gotta be Tom Sparrow who comes in though
-
Adam Cerra
Unfortunately i think Adam Cerra is going to end up at Essendon next year, they're exciting, looking like a finals contender, and have the money/trade assets to get it done

Where will we play the Lions?
Strange times, honestly, i think it would be best for everyone given it's round 11. to move the Bye forward and push the other rounds back, buy some time to assess the situation and figure out how to move forward we know how quickly things can change with covid, and lockdowns and so on. potentially things may look a lot better in 10 days time.

Good win?
the move to tag Libba was incredibly bold and shows a blueprint for other teams on how to beat the Dogs, awesome stuff

CHANGES: Rd 12 vs Brisbane
I've been on record saying Ben Brown shouldn't have been dropped but Weid is so close, sure he only kicked 2 goals but he got both hands to the ball a bunch of times. won't be long and they'll stick for him and he'll kick a big bag. we've gotta back him in because the signs are very good. unless Ben or Mitch Brown goes absolutely nuts in the 2's i reckon Weid gets the next 3 games at least

POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Western Bulldogs
It all seemed to come together last night, i felt like we were quite good out of the middle, which we haven't been this year. and some really good deep clearances i was really impressed with Trent Rivers, he looks an absolute ripper. he may end up being the best of the big three we drafted that year, i'd put some consideration into him moving to the Wing with Langdon out as he's got the pace and skills to be that attacking winger the coaching was brilliant. Goody and co absolutely out coached the dogs, tagging libba was a masterstroke, pressure on the ball carrier killed the handball game (high handball game styles don't stand up against sustained pressure teams) and Jordan i felt kept Bont under control for large patches The Dogs have a lot of talent, but they have some glaring weaknesses. the fact our three marking forwards all kicked multiple goals and got a paddock to work in shows they're a bit like us in 2018. look amazing offensively but the best teams will make them look really easy to score against. I said this during the week and got some unhappy responses but the dogs flat track bully status is confirmed to me. good teams will follow this blueprint and they need to do some work
