Carlton bid on Green.

2019 National Draft: Non-MFC Picks
If we were going to split the pick we'd need to do it soon

2019 National Draft: Non-MFC Picks
I'd be taking one of those three at 10 for sure. especially Flanders.

2019 National Draft: Non-MFC Picks
Stephens at 5 is a bit of a surprise Surely Flanders doesn't make it to 10 but if he does. Surely we grab him

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Gunna call it now, happy to be on record. we're nuts if we don't bid on Green with pick 3

I wonder how mr Pruess is feeling about our likely recruitment of Mr Jackson.

What to do with Pick 10?
Can't help but feel this draft is make or break for us. if they get it right it could go a long way to breaking our premiership drought. if we get it wrong it is a massive wasted opportunity For me it all rests on Jacksons capacity as a forward. i think we're all comfortable he will be a good ruckman, but Max is going to hold that spot barring injury for a while yet.

Don't think we can because we traded them 8

Nearest the Pin
I've been told Carlton will 100% take Stephens if Freo don't. and the curve ball would be if the Crows picked him.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Thinking he might be a Giants player come tomorrow and we will have another Green in the red and blue.

Nearest the Pin
I think the Doggies might take Weightman the pick before that unfortunately. if they do i reckon we're a chance to get Kemp with that pick. otherwise i agree. would be rapt with Green. looks a ready made player and a star of the future.

Deven Robertson (Drafted by Brisbane)
He's got a decent burst of speed which i'm not sure the highlights really show. reminds me a lot of Jack Viney to be honest. someone you know who'd give you 110% every time he took the field.

Phantom Drafts
The only thing we really know is Jason Taylor has said. the three players we rate high enough for pick 3 are Luke Jackson, Hayden Young and Tom Green He said we wouldn't trade pick 8 unless we were 100% sure we'd get our guy at pick 10 so the conclusion i make is either we were never interested in Hayden Young from the start an he wasn't telling the truth or we are supremely confident he will get through to 10

Phantom Drafts
we don't generally leak this much either so i wouldn't be at all surprised if we went totally differently to what's been mocked.

Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)
This guy looms as the massive steal of the draft. i reckon he'd be a top 3 pick if not for his injury. and of all the teams we're probably in the best position to draft someone like that as we don't need the immediate impact quite as much.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KYSAIAH KROPINYERI PICKETT
Agreed. i think pick 28 is appropriate. but there is a risk someone will pinch him earlier

he's got a really nice blend of toughness, class and work ethic.

3. Jackson 10. Pickett 28. Jeremy Sharp

Tom Green (Drafted by GWS Giants)
A much more fair system would be academy bidding etc occurs before the draft as in teams can bid their picks for that player and if they do the Giants have an opportunity to match. but it means surrendering the picks to that value before the draft.

What to do with Pick 10?
I feel in these situations and it's definitely strange to go from a Prelim to 17th you can afford a little bit of room to take a risk with those picks. however, i would only do that with 1. if we take Jackson we should take best avaliable at 10 if we take Green or Young we should be able to take a weightman or Pickett a little early if that's who we really want. I see a bit of the MFC trying to be too clever in this.

I wasn't a fan of trading 8 either, and it now appears we are a chance to miss out on the Jackson/Young combo but hopefully whatever we do with pick 10 comes off. it feels a pretty big gamble. If it were me in charge i think i'd be looking to trade 28 and our future second from the Hawks to Port for pick 18 Pick 3 to the Dockers for 7, 8 - they'll be desperate for Luke Jackson and likely bid on Green which helps us 7 - Young 8 - Ash 10 - Weightman 18 - Pickett and our other two list spots are filled by Brown and Bennell
