Luke Jackson Replacement - vs Carlton
Daw is a comfortably better ruckman than Weideman. and given we're losing a player who's most significant impact has been in the ruck, i think that should definitely be a big consideration.

Luke Jackson Replacement - vs Carlton
we're a team that's struggling to win clearance, but can kick a winning score. Majak for me. we need a ruckman who can play forward, not a forward who can play ruck. priority has to be the midfield and clearance.

CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Carlton
Jacksons stints in the ruck have turned games at times, this is a serious loss for us. thankfully we're playing Carlton and Adelaide who we should have covered. if we bring in Weideman it'll be very interesting to see how the forward line functions, he'd come in knowing he probably has to dominate to hold his spot because Brown is averaging 2.5 goals a game and T'Mac is playing really well.

CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Carlton
Throw in Kozzie and Fritsch and i can't think of a more potent forward line. it's genuinely scary to think a player of Fritsch quality could get the 4th defender.

CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Carlton
Agreed, which is why i prefer Daw. we lost the clearances drastically last week, but we've had no issues kicking a winning score. i'd rather sure up the midfield than the forward line at this stage, but that's just me. if weid gets a go it'll be really exciting to see the 3 headed monster in action at the G

CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Carlton
They could. but i think Daw is comfortably better in the ruck than either. and the real big plus Jackson was bringing to the team was his work in the ruck and stoppages. i think we lose a little bit in the midfield where we need it taking that option. I won't be unhappy if we go with Weid. but my preference would be Daw based on trying to cover what we've lost.

CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Carlton
This is probably going to be unpopular compared to those who'd love to see Weid in, but i reckon we've gotta go with Daw. he's been great in the 2's as a ruck resting forward. he is the best fit to fill the Jackson role, and Max needs the support in the ruck

CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Carlton
Be interesting to see who replaces Jackson, is it Weideman, Daw or do we go small with say Sparrow?

CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Carlton
with you, we've been spoilt by the tremendous year Tommlinson was having. considering the supply the Swans got, Petty and the entire back 6 stood up incredibly well. considering his opponent mclean dominated the week before i was really happy with Petty

Potential priority pick for Kangas
I don't mind them getting one on face value, i just would like to see more transperancy around the process of deciding who does. so if we put in place a threshold based on win-loss and % in an individual season, they should get some form of priority pick. My opinion is that pick should be pick 10, not pick 1 though. so for example North Melbourne would then have picks 1, 10 and 19 in the Draft as it stands, and with some smart trading they could get 4-5 picks in the top 25 and the rebuild is well underway if the same team is in bottom 4 for the following 3 seasons, at the conclusion of the third season they should be awarded another pick 10.

How likely a latter season drop off?
well played! hahahahaha

How likely a latter season drop off?
I don't really see a drop off happening, in saying that i think it'd probably do us some good to drop a game. i reckon the players might have the streak in their heads a bit and will play with more freedom if that's not a factor

Centre Clearances - Considered Analysis Requested.
Against the Swans he may have, in all honesty i wasn't watching that closely. but previous weeks i've noticed he's the one who seems to line up in the more aggressive spot. but i think my point is, the whole midfield needs to be covering for each other so we can attack, although we probably would do just fine in pure one on ones

Centre Clearances - Considered Analysis Requested.
I'm not sure it's as simple as each player is 100% accountable for their opponent, as weird as that sounds, Petracca is our biggest offensive weapon hands down, and if you watch our clearences, he almost exclusively sets up in an attacking position, where others are more balanced, the structure allows for a player to cover if Petracca doesn't win the ball, but my contention, is the players are starting too far back to be able to do it effectively, if we don't win the ball the other side has an extra split second to clear it. I'm not concerned about the clearance issue personally, simply because i believe it's very easily solvable and Yze will be playing around with the set ups and will get it right. The Swans on the day probably did everything they set out to do and still couldn't win. they beat us in the middle, dominated inside 50's, made May and Lever accountable, and kept Fritsch and Kozzie quiet, the issue is in all honesty we're just a bloody good team. Genuinely if we get the Clearance side of our game going in the next two weeks i think we'll also beat the dogs and Lions and start 12-0

CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Carlton
We haven't really smashed a team this year outside the Hawks in the last quarter. mark my words, this week will be different. the way Carlton play is going to play right into our hands. they'll attack, make mistakes, bomb it long, May and Lever will have a field day, Tipping us by 70

Centre Clearances - Considered Analysis Requested.
My observations. In order to stop the Bees to a honey pot situation the coaches have clearly worked on spacing and at times our boys are just too far away. and the other player gets in first. other sides know Max and Jackson are going to dominate hit outs, so they're roving them rather than even trying to win, just trying to contest enough that they get a look. Clayton Oliver and Christian Petracca are consistently trying to hit the bounces at speed and push through with momentum, which is great when it works, but if it doesn't it tends to leave us outnumbered. we're particularly bad in this space at the start of games. it works better when teams have tired

Best Goal-Kicking Technique?
Ben Brown, despite his 45 km run up, doesn't miss many. Angus Brayshaw has a nice technique.
-
CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Carlton
No change. even if Petracca is sore, he will just play more forward, which will just cause more headaches for Carlton. I'd be sending Harmes to run with Walsh, back Oliver to beat Cripps and May to beat McKay.

May charged and fined for striking Buddy?
If it's the incident i'm thinking of his Elbow bounced off Buddys arm and clipped him high very lightly and Buddy took a huge dive trying to get a free coz that's the only way he was gunna get a kick. On Buddy. i thought the umpiring was disgraceful, i recall several times where took players on, dropped it and no call made, including 2 in the same play, and yet Petracca copped red hot calls at every opportunity.

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
Lets be real, i rate Sam Weideman the talent, but he's never put consistent performances together at AFL level, and THAT, is the only reason he's not in the team now IMO, we want to see him doing it week in, week out for a block. and i reckon he'd be clear on that. it'd be a real shame if he left, and i don't think he will, this is all just media stuff

Christian Petracca is A Demon For Life
Seriously, HTF did the Saints not take this bloke pick 1? and then after such a disasterous call, how did we appoint their coach at the time as our footy boss! Richo is trying to make up for it by signing Trac up for 1000 years

Christian Petracca is A Demon For Life
Collingwood are going to throw Huge money at Harry McKay in my opinion.
