It's a real worry that Trengove didn't get amongst it more than that at VFL level, scary to think last year he was an AFL captain
-
I'd rather see Nicholson than Grimes, both have shocking disposal, but at least Nicholson is going to run hard and have a fair dinkum crack

If this season turns out how we all fear
Ted Lasso replied to Demon_Tingles's topic in Melbourne Demons
Lets be realistic who of our list would we definitely keep Trengove, Grimes, M.Jones, Bail, Nicholson, Byrnes, Fitzpatrick, Barry, Tapscott, Blease, Strauss, Spencer, Jamar, Jetta, Terlich should all be traded or delisted Clark - may well never play again Frawley - will be hard to watch in brown and Yellow Dunn - playing his best footy and is a free agent Mcdonald - also believe he is out of contract Watts and Howe have ability but they're both so inconsistent and frustrating Vince and Cross are doing what they were recruited to do Gawn, Dawes, Hogan - good injured players Clisby, Toumpas, Salem, Hunt, Kennedy-Harris, not sure if i have missed anyone - too young to really judge yet -
If mitch clark retires, i'd offer Trelor 600k a year and Plowman 300 k a year and pick 1 as the trade for them

Absolutely hate the idea of a name change, but a major list overhaul with the AFL's help, we delist all but say 5-10 players and get some draft concessions to help rebuild from the ground up -
6.Dom Tyson 5. Jeremy Howe 4. Tom Mcdonald 3.Daniel Cross 2. Lynden Dunn 1. Jack Watts

the only thing worse than the club folding would be Roos putting in 3 years and the side getting nowhere, it's hard to tell if we are dragging out the inevitable or if there is genunley some hope, it's a real worry when even the most loyal supporters are now having serious doubt about if senior officials are really committed to the cause

DEVIL OF A TIME - Match Preview and Team Selection

I reckon Evans is very underrated, i see him as having the ability to be a best 22 mid for us for a long time -

It's really strange that Toumpas has also lost the pace he used to have -

I want to see Trenners concentrate on his attacking side, we know he can tackle and all that, we need him having 30 touches in games and being damaging with ball in hand, he has the potential to be a complete elite midfielder, he just needs to put it all together. -

Trenners dropped. I reckon this is well overdue, but a great move. -

All i had been hearing was he was training really strongly, trained with the main group, was probably right for seniors but wanted him to have a week in the 2's and boom he's not named at all lol -

Anyone know why Col wasn't named for Casey? -
I reckon ENYAW's woes could be in his head.

Yeah i agree, Tyson alone i reckon is worth Kelly on what i have seen, anything Salem does is a bonus, the beauty of which is there are no expectations, he can just take his time and develop, like Toumpas should also be doing -

I am really keen to see Viney and Tyson together, Viney will shine so much more this year than he did last year now that he has some support, i reckon he is an absolute star in the making as is Tyson -
I hope Jack Viney has a belter this week, then we can get the only comparison that actually works going, Wines vs Viney
-
I hope trenners does play VFL might be good for him to dominate and remember what that's like
-
I would think Roosy would be smart enough to see he is playing his role, perhaps just feels he needs to dominate a couple of games at casey and get some confidence up.
-
I find it kind of funny that we have struggled to score, so in response we drop a bloke who has kicked 20% of our scores
-
Trengove should have been dropped before Jimmy.

The nature of AFL is that you are not in play 100% of the time, if you run up and back harder than your opponent, them slacking off for even a second affords you the time and space you need, with quality disposal that is all you need, Nick Rewoldt burns defenders off him because he is a far better endurance athlete, a player who has a powerful endurance base, you're describing an explosive athlete, someone who can use an explosive first few steps to get a bit of space, this looks great, but it's not the only way to be a quality outside player, i could make a list of good players that lack this. it's simply about picking your moment and running to the right spots, speed or not is irrelevant if your endurance levels are stronger than your opponent you will find space because they won't be able to go with you.
-
No it means you run further and push harder than others, when they stop you keep going, that's endurance and has absolutely nothing to do with acceleration. Scott Pendelbury is a perfect example, he isn't fast but is damaging in space and is smart enough to find/make it.
-
Or you need smarts, or simply to run harder, it's certainly not a case of if you aren't quick you simply won't make it as an elite mid.

Changes for next week...
Ted Lasso replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
All three would need to produce their absolute best form consistently to have any chance of hanging on,
