MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 8
Ted Lasso replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I assume something happened at training? -
Not sure he'd be able to stop danger if he were running bb
-
I'm not sure Trengove has the speed to play as a high half forward, yes offensively he's a very smart player, decent overhead mark and good ball user but defensively I can't see him being fast enough to apply any real defensive pressure and his opponent may well expose his speed and be able to run past to easily. Jack in my opinion is an inside mid and while I consider him AFL standard in that role he is competing with a long list of very good players. I suspect brayshaw is struggling with the same pressure of having to beat out someone like jones, Viney or Oliver or play a position he's less comfortable with.

He won't be traded, so I'd say it's irrelevant just needs a good run of games and he'll be fine

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 8

Tipping us, after goodys presser I have a feeling the players are now on notice and will come out all guns blazing -
I'd be all for offering Steven may a big deal
-
He won't leave
-
Brayshaw is the sort of guy I'd be happy to just give say 6 straight games to build form, when he's back and fit
-
Christ they could do 40 stories like this every time Richmond loses a game
-
My money is on "Stuie"
-
Would be silly to knock back the offer from north imo, especially considering I think he'll be a premiership player by the end of this year
-
Just watched the presser and I'm a lot more sold on him now! I reckon he would have given the players a rocket. effort is a starting point, we will waste our potential if its not matched with effort.

Brief(-ish) moments of being switched off during games
Ted Lasso replied to titan_uranus's topic in Melbourne Demons
The positive for me is that we are also kicking bursts of goals against the opposition and dominating large parts of games against all opposition teams we play. The lapses are frustrating but I think part of having such a young side, Goodwin needs to address this hard and fast during the week . I think we need to work on defensive talk, we don't need four blokes flying for the same ball when the opposition stays down and we need to lower our eyes going forward and we should impact the scoreboard far more in our periods of dominance -
Clayton Oliver will be in that group, he's catching them very quickly
-
Not sure why every defender needs to fly for the same ball and leave the opposition at ground level, and why going inside 50 plan a,b and c is bomb it long and hope
-
Out: Kennedy Harris, Wagner, bugg in: Kennedy. Stretch, Trengove/melksham
-
6. Viney 5. Frost 4. Tyson 3.hunt 2. Oliver 1. Lewis
-
It's all we have at the minute but still plenty of it
-
3-4 2x close losses to hawks and dockers, should have won both, dominated cats but didn't kick straight injuries saved the tigers we are much better than our record suggests but our consistency is the big issue. as frustrating as it is to lose, posters who don't see the improvement either don't know much about footy or they're letting their emotions talk. We are good enough to beat the crows if we play four quarters
-
My big question now is is Jayden hunt a better back or forward.
-
This is true wise but they open us up from kick outs as well, we are clearly still learning how to effectively implement a zone for 4 quarters
-
Exactly we get opened up so easily by the opposition and score no more easily than we did last year.
-
geez a real ruckman would have been handy today
