  1. Would happily downgrade pick 3 for the Suns 9 and 15 to pick up Ahern and Duggan if possible, would be a great deal for both clubs I think
  2. and certainly the type of player we need, he will go into the middle hit the ball hard and win clearances, but he can go forward and kick multiple goals and is capable of almost playing as a key position player, I see him as a walk up start for our best 22
  3. Petracca is imo where stronger would have been without the broken leg
  4. I think Salem will be a good player but I think it will take at least 3 years to build up the tank of a midfielder, especially with the interchange cap it's going to take longer for young players
  5. I'd also add the two times Jimmy was dropped this year he had 16 disposals and a goal and the second time he had 18 touches, so he wasn't playing badly at all, Salem has been given a lot of chances, Jimmy has been a little bit stiff imo
  6. Petracca has been dominant all year and is a genuine match winner, something we haven't had for a long time, if we draft and develop this kid well I think he will be an absolute superstar
  7. I strongly believe if pick 1 isn't traded the Saints will find it difficult to pass up McCartin, so for mine, Petracca is pick 2 If we lose today i'd be very surpised if we don't draft him, if not I think picks 3 and 4 will be on the trade table
  8. I think Fitzy might hold some value to another side that is lacking in key forward targets and he wouldn't cost a fortune to attract, perhaps a team like Freo or the Bulldogs would consider Fitz if he was on the table
  9. I agree, I think Hogan is the best of them, because I think Hogan is the only one besides Cameron that could settle into CHB if we needed and become a quality defender, he has the speed and so on to play multiple roles where as Patton, Boyd and McCartin imo are more stay at home forwards
  10. Brayshaw is quite good on both sides and pretty handy in traffic, I reckon he's gunna be a good player and very consistent Petracca is more talanted but I think he's going to be a burst player Might be Nathan Jones vs Dustin Martin
  11. Would we recruit him as a forward or a ruck more so? I rate him as a ruckman, not as much as a forward if we went with Wright we would have to be very accepting of the fact this kid could take 4-5 years as some ruckman seem too
  12. Watched him first hands and in that game his attack on the ball was Viney-like, I was there with my father and some mates and we all commented on how hard he was going at it, mind you at the time we had no idea who he was thank god for the footy record
  13. Very confident mccartin and Petracca are more likely than Wright
  14. Heard from an influencial bushies member the dogs are a big chance to take marchbank
  15. I reckon pick 2 goes to the Giants for Shiel I reckon pick 3 goes to the Suns for picks 11 and 15 pick up Duggan and Wellar with those picks
  16. I wonder if Brayshaw is more suited than Petracca to the Roos game plan? Petracca is very much a burst player, Brayshaw is much more steady and consistant having said that petracca looks a very capable forward and could easily rest there with bursts through the middle
  17. Geelong getting frawley concerns me, they are well known for underpaying players
  18. His all Australian selection to me shows he can be damaging enough that would should take him
  19. I think you need a mix, you need players winning the ball on the inside and damaging players on the outsde, but I think the pre requisite of any player should be for our club that if the game is a slog every single player has to be capable of winning the ball in a contest
  20. I agree, I think Dom Tyson is a less essential player so they're happy to swap him for Josh Kelly but a bloke like Cameron is going to be a far more significant loss, if they feel they are no chance to keep him and we offer a couple of top 5 picks I think they will take it and run, I also agree that I don't think the saints will finish last, I think last will more than likely be decided by who wins out game against the Lions
  21. The rumours are of homesickness, so I think that probably rules out Brisbane, the Saints would be the ones to beat in terms of a trade but we could offer financially a very good long term deal and a couple of top 5 picks, i'd personally say picks 3 and 4 would trump pick 1 or 2, although I have heard they are very keen on Petracca. Personally I can't see the saints passing up a forward like McCartin for a midfielder, so i'd say Petracca will slide to at least pick 2
  22. If saints or lions finish last I am about certain they will take mccartin
  23. Would we consider taking Peter Wright as a developing forward/ruck?
  24. the bidding process takes place before the trade and draft period so we have to commit to the pick we are going to use before that time.
  25. Liam Duggan and Paul ahern look as good as brayshaw imo
