Farewell Jesse Hogan
Jay Clark reporting he’s past his medical/freo are satisfied with the state of his foot. It’s not just down to finding a trade dees won’t budge on 2 first rounders. Nor should they.

Freo know they can’t afford to let this opportunity to sign hogan slip because they may not get another one. They also need to sign a big fish to stop members from jumping ship and lobb doesn’t cut it. They will buckle if we hold our nerve. They want hogan more than they want their 2 picks. No doubt in my mind.

I don’t blame them for prioritising the guy who absolutely wants to go there over the guy who can’t make up his mind. I’m sure if hogan declares his intentions that’ll change very quickly

would you accept pick 5, Darcy tucker and Ed Langdon for hogan? A mate put that idea to me and I don’t mind it simply because we have lost a good amount of our depth. May fills the key defensive need and tucker and Langdon are good enough to challenge strongly for a place in our best 22

He just guesses.

Nah I can’t see it. I think it’ll definitely be 5 and the compromise may be a player or a future pick.

You’re saying exactly what I was dazzle. Any medical would not include a physical component because he’s injured, so they’re going off new and old scans and they had the results before they entered trade negotiations with Melbourne. Is why I think that component of the story is BS

The dockers chatted to Melbourne about a potential trade on Monday. Surely if they were out they would have said so then... it’s shady.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Let’s be clear. Jesse didn’t do a medical test while at dockers HQ because he’s still not allowed to run. He may have had additional scans done. But I think this is all BS

I doubt very much they haven’t said anything it’s just not public yet. I don’t think freo and the dees enter trade negotiations without at least an incredibly strong indication. Trade week is too short to waste time
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Officially yes, but it goes on basically 24/7 especially at this time of year in one way or another.

I do wonder if we may look to trade picks to get the swans first pick and do the trade regardless of hogan. Would be amazing to get May into the club and grab a couple of top 10 picks as well for Jesse.

Well I think Melbourne have unintentionally shown their hand by publicly admitting we can’t sign may without hogan leaving and now freo are trying to make us panic into thinking we won’t get the deal we want for hogan and miss out on May. If the club stay firm I believe freo will give us the two top 10 picks

It’s interesting isn’t it. All these rumours of these potential long term issues only come up when freo are trying to negotiate down the trade value. His foot or any other issues didn’t stop us wanting to lock him up long term or freo offering him big $$ to come home or then Getting him to come do a 4 hour tour. I just think the dockers are leaking little rumours to the press to try and knock his trade value down. And I hope the club sees through it. I think some of these rumours may hold some truth but if they were legitimate it wouldn’t have gotten this far. The dockers wouldn’t make the offer without doing due diligence on all aspects of jesses situation

Farewell Dom Tyson
Correct. I know of 4 definitely keen and 2 that potentially. So there is a market for him.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Too much baggage sadly because he’s a great talent and bargain basement price.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Not sure how an offer to pruess has any bearing on the asking price for hogan. Key forward who is 23, rising star winner and stacks up with any key forward ever to play at the same stage if not better 5&6 is a good deal

Farewell Dom Tyson
If we could snag the swans pick 13 with some later picks and vanders and send say 12, Tyson and a 2019 second round for may, kolo &2019 third round
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
But..... he is contracted... so freo pay premium which is two top 10 picks. Or we keep him.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Future first round they reckon. I’d have thought around 20. But they’re offering him 750k so not easy to do that and then argue he’s not worth a first rounder
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
That’s how I’m reading it. You don’t offer a guy huge dollars, have a 4 hour tour and then lose interest. Especially if you’ve chased that guy for years
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Though by then Jesse would have been a decent part of likely multiple cracks at a flag and he may decide to stick around.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
No. It couldn’t. Because Jesse is contracted and much more talented than lobb. Freo have leaked that to try and panic us into accepting less rather than miss out on May.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Josh Mahoney said we badgered them for a long period of time but even still, why express an interest if we couldn’t afford him anyway?
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Financially we can afford both, the evidence for that is the offer we made to GAFF the reality is that we can’t trade our 2019 pick unless we replace it and even then we’d need to include a quality player to be any chance without hogan leaving.
