  1. Condolences to the whole hogan family! Such a sad day! Take all the time you need Jesse, this is much bigger than footy
  2. Considering what we'd have to give up to get him I see little value in the idea
  3. Hogan is a much better player than joe, he's just got off field stuff to deal with
  4. Dom is almost symbolic of our team, he's winning the ball and doing a lot right but is just wasting it far to often his decision making needs work
  5. I genuinely think we will beat the pies, suns, hawks and north. The bombers game is probably 50/50 and the crows game will be a tough ask
  6. I think eventually we will start converting the opportunities we create and if we do that sooner rather than later we have no reason to fear any team, even without gawn.
  7. The most impressive thing about Oliver was how clean he was, even in the wet! Kid is the best of that draft class by a mile so far including mills and wietering
  8. I am almost more happy to see that kind of effort in a loss than I would have been in a ten goal win, the mfc hasn't cared that much about a performance in a long time, that was genuine fight
  9. How good is Daisy's commentary?? She's quickly becoming one of my favourites because despite being a demon she seems to remain unbiased, and calls it as she sees it and really knows what she's talking about!
  10. I think we need to have a look at the way we set up when kicking into the forward 50, we have been poor in this area all year aside from a part of the saints game where when we did lower our eyes we tore them to shreds. Im not sure if we are just bombing long to hogan to often or if we are trying so hard to be aggressive that we are lacking a little composure but if we were 10% better in this area I suspect we'd be 4-1 rather than 2-3
  11. Eddie is a tool, jack watts has more heart than the entire Collingwood football club combined, they're a team of mercenaries who only go there for the $$ a coach who was so concerned with stamping his own legacy that he turned a premiership winning list into a potential bottom 4 list in only a few seasons.
  12. Tom McDonald might be worth a shot in the ruck
  13. As it sits, the cats and tigers are undefeated top 4 sides and we dominated both for extended periods, at some point we will learn to convert that and start winning those games and that's why I am not as concened by being 2-3, even the crows and giants are teams we have recently played well against or beaten fairly regularly. Even if we don't play finals I am so much more confident in our direction now than I was last year
  14. This is true, I think we are also suffering slightly because of the rule changes, 3rd man up might have been a handy option given our current situation
  15. Not sure that's the case wise, many posters were discussing it last off season so I definitely don't see it as being hindsight in any way. We may need to think outside the box to solve the ruck problem now.
  16. I'm pretty surprised by the criticism of Alex Neal bullen, he's still learning but he's finding the ball, running hard both ways and his defensive efforts are fantastic he is probably our best midfielder defensively and finds the ball as well, I think we need to persist and back him in To be able to clean up the mistakes and become more dangerous. Harmes to me just always like a fraction off the pace of AFL
  17. I think our best is in the best 4 teams in the comp but for a variety of reasons we can't sustain it over four quarters. I think the wheel is turning and at some point this year it will click and we will convert our dominance into wins. We have a good blend of experience and elite young talent, some good kicking skills emerging now but may struggle with no real ruck options in the short term I think watts has been our best player so far this year
  18. The combo of watts and frost should give us the extra mid advantage at Etihad
  19. Could try no ruckman at all?
  20. Shocking post, jack is horribly out of form and still averaging 23 touches and 6 tackles a game. There are many more limited players than jack.
  21. Still think there are so many more positives than negatives. The results will turn if we keep dominating games like that
  22. His selections were fine, we dominated three quarters of the game. One of the smarter things mark neeld used to say is the last thing we see is the scoreboard and we are doing so much right but our lapses are really costing us, there has been plenty to like in every game we have played but we are still in the youngest couple of sides in the comp so we will build consistency
  23. I am far more concerned with how disorganised we were at stoppages, our lack of leadership cost us just as much as those injuries. We looked great in the first three quarters but fell off a cliff in the last in all areas
  24. Injuries are killing us, was always going to be hard to run out the game though that doesn't excuse a fade out like that, again it's three fantastic quarters where we don't get value for our dominance and the opposition gets on a run and goes over the top of us
  25. I think I am in love with Jeff Garlett
