  1. I didn't use the word weapons.. and he played some promising games at casey, i remember him kicking 5 goals from half forward towards the end of the season and alot of posters hoping he'd get a run in the 1's, can completely understand why he was delisted if you're on the list of a team that wins 2 games and don't get a run there is normally a reason for it, but i felt he might have shown enough to be looked at for one more year, even as a rookie
  2. Thought he had some attributes that were good, a year under George stone and Roosy we could know more about him
  3. Taggert looked okay at times to me, i understand why we delisted him but i thought he was probably worth one more year, or re-drafting as a rookie
  4. Jack should seriously consider getting a new Manager, this one is a dud why would you let Jack go on the footy show when he isn't sure what he is doing, made him look like a dick to everyone.
  5. we were certainly interviewing them, that would be insane without a pretty significant level of confidence in getting their man.
  6. Watts has a hell of alot of talent, if Roos can up his workrate and he comes out of his shell abit he will be our best player next year imo.
  7. I have judged Jack very harshly as a player, kinda part of the deal when you go pick 1, but i think he would be a really good forward with some half decent delivery, he has been okay this year, two weeks ago i was all for trading him, now i'm not sure.
  8. I think Roos is smart enough to know he will need a new game plan that suits our list, Watts is clearly part of that based on his best 22 article
  9. So Mr Watts, how do you feel about the clubs direction now? looks almost certain to sign Paul Roos, Geoff Walsh from all reports looks good too PrIority pick on the way Jesse Hogan coming onto the list or you can go to Carlton who don't look like ever being more than a B- team oh how the tables have turned * Laughs like evil mastermind *
  10. oh you meant lecras sorry i misread that! nah he is definately worth 700k imo all australian quality player. sorry mate
  11. This is why you aren't list manager of an AFL club mate hahaha
  12. fair enough, apologies
  13. are you suggesting age isnt an excuse, how would you go been thrown in the deep end at his age? give him more than a handful of games to prove himself
  14. A wasted pick, are you serious? he has played what 10 games? i would suggest there are a few players who have taken more than 10 games to find their feet.
  15. Fyfe and Dustin martin would be huge gets for us, but i think we need guys like sewell and swan, older blokes who have been around a while too,
  16. That's absolutely right, Nathan Jones is a good player but he isn't a Chris Judd or Gary Ablett, we have no elite senior talent to teach our younger players, it's like the blind leading the blind, we rely on our coaches to teach these players and we have mucked up our last two coaching appointments, any wonder the players aren't developing as we'd like.
  17. Doesn't really make a difference?
  18. I think most of it is confidence, he seems to be attacking the contest more as the year has gone on, maybe a full pre season and some confidence will give us a better indication, but my brother in law is mates with a bloke involved at the doggies and they considered Toumpas on par with whitfield at pick one and couldn't believe he got through to us, so i still hold out faith.
  19. I didn't say they don't go hard, but confidence is one thing we clearly lack compared to their players, if toumpas was there he'd get far more support, players would go out of their way to get him the ball to build his confidence, senior gun players would demonstrate on field what is expected and required to be good AFL players, we have none of the above.
  20. You listen to a joel selwood talking about how they would give a young bloke the ball at every opportunity to back themselves in, our leaders like trenners and grimes don't get enough of the ball themselves as it is, let alone dishing it off, it's really an unfair playing field for poor Jimmy.
  21. I honestly don't believe they did, i stand by the opinion Toumpas is going to be a gun, i think his output would be up 20% if he was in a better team, certainly not a horrible decision when we already had viney, what makes you think wines would be any better in this team?
  22. We didn't draft wines, we have Jimmy Toumpas, he has bucket loads of ability, so let's not throw this kid to the sharks because he hasn't got ten best on grounds in his first ten games.
  23. Is it really so hard to understand the kid is 18, trying to find his way at AFL level in possibly the worst team of all time? give the kid a break and how about we judge him in a couple of years time when we actually have some idea?
  24. Are you serious? the kids played 10 games, on average it takes about three years so that's 66 games before a player really feels comfortable at AFL level, and he is playing in a team that is struggling big time, the idea that anyone can make an accurate judgement of any of our young players is abit silly. Watch the replay of the game against Geelong like i just did, you will feel much better about us drafting this young man.
  25. He has shown patches of absolute class, for a ten game player in such a poor midfield he is showing quite abit in his better games imo, very confident he will be a player in the future
