  1. Let's hope his inclusion at Fremantle makes Viv Michie more likely to leave as it will be harder for him to earn his spot.
  2. I wonder if young Viney will take up the number 12 after his father or if he will choose to continue in the number 7 making his own path.
  3. I wonder what's going to happen with Clark and Dawes? Will they do it twice and have to change their program? Edit: typo
  4. I presume the saints finished first, there's was fantastic until their song and the giant squib Riewoldt. I just watched the bombers one and theirs was garbage, nothing creative or entertaining at all. I was a big fan of the dockers one, it made me have a good laugh - I thought it was very creative.
  5. So on the way out of Perth airport I said "enjoy your break mate, I look forward to seeing you kick a few more again next year", I believe his mother had come to pick him up who was with him, he replied in a very nice manner with a "thanks mate".
  6. Luckily for me no, it was the 7:00 am flight.
  7. I'm just sitting at the departure gate heading to Perth, Dean Kent is on the flight. I said he had a good year - he is a nice young bloke.
  8. Finally watched it, he is a very impressive young man. I hope things turn around sooner rather than later.
  9. Moloney #stilladouchebag
  10. Thanks fellas, I guess we can cross him off the list now. The dream was good while it lasted.
  11. I would be happy to have Ling or Bolton. When Bolton is referred to "as the best clubman he's ever seen" by John Longmire certainly says wonders about him, particularly considering how good the Sydney culture is and has been. He would fit right in at the Dees under an experienced assistant coach like Adam Simpson or Stuart Dew.
  12. Is he a RFA or UFA?
  13. My guess is that the club will be specifically targeting any two of Mitchell Hallahan (HAW), Viv Michie (FRE), Jordan Schroder (GEE), and Levi Greenwood (NM). My ideal choice would be Hallahan - very hard at it, loves a bump (ex-boxing champion), very good awareness, and has some nice dash. I'm also big fan of Michie although concerned with his patella injury as these can sometimes be degenerating. Greenwood's 38 disposal game vs the Bombers this year was super impressive, he also had a few other mid to high 20's possession games so could be a steal. Schroder the other young J.J Liston winner (equal 3 way tie) could be a smokey in years to come.
  14. Here is a some new information regarding this kid: 1. Stated on Footy Classified last night that Perris is the last of Sydney's scholarship holders, he was offered a confirmed rookie position but nothing further. So why are Sydney complaining if he nominates himself for the draft in an attempt for a position on a senior list (clearly worth one). 2. Based on the limited stats I have obtained over the U18 championships (thank you to a certain unnamed someone on this site), I have him covered in two games: Round 2 VM (126) vs. NSW (62): 26 Disposals (11 Contested), 8 Marks, 1 Goal 1 Behind, 4 Tackles, 1 FF, 0 FA, 4 Clearances, 2 I50, 4 R50. AN EXTREMELY GOOD GAME! One of the BOG, his stats that day were very similar to Kelly's although Kelly only had 4 contested possessions of his 26 total. Round 4 NSW (47) vs. QLD (56): 17 Disposals (8 Contested), 3 Marks. 0 Goals 0 Behinds, 2 Tackles, 1 FF, 0 FA, 1 Clearance, 5 I50, 0 R50. He was a little quieter in this game, although in both I am very impressed by his contested possession count. He has a very nice balance between his contested possessions and uncontested possessions. Statistics legend: FF = Frees For, FA = Frees Against, I50 = Inside 50, R50 = Rebound 50. Unfortunately I don't have any of the statistics for his other games.
  15. I don't have Foxtel, but saw the edited clip of it on Footy Classified (YES that show with Shrek's evil grandmother on it) and I too was incredibly impressed. In all honesty what does Sydney expect, they offer Lloyd Perris a confirmed rookie position when he is clearly a late first round/ early second round pick, and with the limited stats I have on him he is easily worth our second round pick. I also find it humourous that Sydney are currently blocking talks between one of their coaching assistants Stuart Dew and us over a potential position next year, the blocking won't last long. Stated down the bottom end of this article: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2013-09-25/dees-offer-new-contract-to-sylvia ALL IN ALL, ROOS IS SO FAR VERY IMPRESSIVE!
  16. Unfortunately I'm not as optimistic as some here for Dom Barry in 2014. After watching the indigenous game vs Richmond at the start of the year I was wishing we had got Jed Anderson... but not to worry. In regards to Dom, I think he will need at least another year before he comes on, I find people unfairly overrate him at times - referring to him as a future gun within the same breath as Hogan and Viney. I really hope under Roos and his assistants that they can first and foremost improve his attack on the ball, particularly within a contested situation, and secondly as others above have eluded to get more mass on the kid. I would love to see him tearing up the wings and running out of packs in years to come
  17. I'm very pleased and sounds like a good deal. He is finally starting to look like a man and less of a boy - I look forward to see what Paul Roos can get out of him over the next three years. I'm a little surprised by the midfielder comment, very interesting indeed.
  18. I get the feeling the club has been shopping around with pick 2, telling other clubs its on the table and hey we are interested in Sloane, Swallow, Adams etc. Hopefully a couple or few bite, so when it comes time for the trade period we have a few other clubs trying to outbid one another so we won't have to pay overs and gain more back in return.
  19. I'm well aware of his injuries, he is good however vastly overrated. Please post the links to his SANFL stats.
  20. And your prepared to part with pick 2 on James Aish... yet another risk. He has averaged ~16 disposals a game over the U18 carnival and international game vs NZ. Hardly exciting. http://www.scpaige.com.au/draftees-in-focus-james-aish/
  21. So if this kid was to go in the draft where would he rank?
  22. Mate I haven't had a crack at those two, I'd be over the moon to have either. I just stated that S. Selwood is a gun, and at his current age there is still plenty of improvement to be made and by no means has his already great game halted. His game, age and work ethic would fit perfectly into our list. Although it's unlikely to happen (since reported).
  23. Hahaha if I'm Prendergast you must be Phil Scully's wife.
  24. So what exactly is this kids link to Sydney? I presume he is going in the draft this year, can he be a Sydney zone selection or something like that?
