  1. Whether we can get a lot or little (more likely) for him, I can only presume his replacement with Jolly - a man begging for a position on another senior list will allow more playing room in the salary cap to poach other players (e.g. A quality midfielder).Anything acquired in a trade will be a bonus.
  2. Yeah it bloody sh*ts me people pay him out! I for one loved his feed, understandably many never eventuated although there were always some that were either spot on or very close. It's frustrating reading the trolls (often a particular consistent few) that either lack imagination or are jealous that he obtains more post "likes" in his short annual stay than they do over a year. I would consider his annual thread one of the best reads on this site.
  3. A close (and only) source of mine has confirmed Melbourne have targeted him. Fremantle want to retain him and stated "it's up in the air, and down to Viv". That's all I can give you and won't disclose the source any further.
  4. I am just looking forward to Nudge's 2013 thread so I don't have to siphon through this thread of chitter chatter and cr*p.
  5. When I originally heard this rumour over a week ago I told my partner I would take her out to a fancy dinner if we obtain Tom Rockliff (I got her to repeat the name to me twice so she didn't forget it or got it confussed), it's looking like I might be up for a dinner - well let's hope so. Thanks for the update Django!
  6. I would like him but I hope the club plays hard ball and tries for Shiel and pick 9 for our pick 2 and second rounder (18-20ish). Some other sweetener from us may probably be required. GWS have a massive abundance of mids, they will most likely want Scharenberg to fill their defensive void - I can't see them passing on Boyd and he won't be around at pick 9 (another midfielder).
  7. Does anyone know if Tom Mitchell of Sydney is out of contract (OOC)? He's been in the system for two years now I am just not sure if he originally signed a 2 or 3 year deal under the father son rule. Or has he at any point extended his contract or re-signed with the Swans? If he is OOC he could be an excellent and ideal target for a direct swap with pick 2 (although highly unlikely). Related Thread: http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/33604-a-target-in-tom-mitchell/?hl=+tom%20+mitchell On the contrary if the trade for Shiel goes ahead, I hope the club can sort it out along the lines of Shiel and pick 9 for our pick 2 and second round pick (18-20ish). GWS have an abundance of quality midfielders and would be desperate to acquire the likes of Scharenberg for their half back line (where their list lacks the most), I don't think they will pass on Boyd and he won't be around at pick 9.
  8. Does anyone know if he is out of contract this year? I can see he last signed a contract in 2011, guessing his contract either expires this year or the next.
  9. Haha, yeah they officially "rule him off limits" when no one wants him or will only pay unders.
  10. Will GWS have in mid 13ish pick this year as well? or is that just GC I'm thinking of in regards to the Caddy trade.
  11. I think it's unlikely as they just re-signed him at the end of the season knowing they were likely to have pick 2.
  12. Hodge was Pick 1, Luke Ball went pick 2 in that 2001 "superdraft" with Judd at 3. Yes they are a handy group (your list), although I ask would you trade pick 2 for Coniglio or O'Rourke? Are they worthy? Because at this point in time that is its true worth (the associated unknown and only potential). There is a good chance of obtaining a Cotchin or Thomas like player or one might slide to pick 6,7, or 8 like a Wingard, Wines, or Bartel. Alternatively there is a chance we could get a flop like a Gumbleton, a Morton, or Tambling and unfortunately this year there is no one midfielder that is well and truly ahead of the pack to make that Cotchin or Thomas like selection easier. It's looking like a 50/50 choice between Kelly and Aish, although its hard to split that overall pack of players. I'm sure one or possibly two will develop into a star over time, although I'm also sure one or possible two will play out their career in second gear with every fan riding it on the hope from initial potential.
  13. CS deserves a pay out aside from his hundreds of thousands he got after he was stood down "as a wonderful servant of the MFC". A public slashing of the club yet again is never good, but I can sure as he*l say PJ is doing a blo*dy good job of this underfunded, under-supported organisation you speak of, far better than CS ever did anyway. As for it being full of incompetent staff it was his responsibility to extend or terminate their contracts, it was his responsibility to set forth the structures to turn those incompetent players into competent winning players. Under his watch, under the staff he was involved in employing the club tanked to receive high draft picks that went into an organisation that lacked the appropriate mature players and structures to nurture their development in order to obtain their full potential. CS publicly bi**hed about our major sponsors Hertz - the very people funding us. He also had his head so far burried into the past, he forgot to focus on the future, he forgot to focus on what was truly important and that was to set up the right structures to develop a winning culture. Was he solely responsible for the last 7 years... NO. Although he did play a vital role in its near demise since his appointment in 2008. So I too would laugh if I heard him being publicly "payed out".
  14. Hahaha... well said. When I hear Wallace on radio I always find myself cringing. I couldn't help but laugh when I heard him talking about the MFC trading pick 2 as he stated "pick 2 will guarantee you a star" - my first thought was Richmond selecting Tambling at pick 4. Wallace still has no clue, and I'm sure Schwab will be the same.
  15. Nor does Scott Pendlebury and Trent Cotchin. They both have cool, calm and collected heads and it shows with their style of game.
  16. I agree, well said 316. I must say I find it funny that few people regarded Rockliff as high as they do now since the 2013 Brownlow and related media hype. I would rank my order of choice as Rockiff, Sloane, (D. Swallow, or S. Selwood here if on the table) then Shuey.
  17. If Cameron Schwab was still around you could bet your first born child on it happening. He will likely have it offered to him in good faith (not persuaded), whether he chooses to accept it is the question. Todd and Jack strike me as the kind of people that consider performance and output as the highest regard, not necessarily club history and tradition (don't take in a negative way). I can only guess that Todd will tell Jack to make his own path in his own number. Either way I will be just happy watching Jack run around in the red and blue.
  18. Thank you Gorgoroth.
  19. I hate hearing commentators constantly comparing sons of players to their fathers. I hope Jack continues in the number 7 and give 12 to an upcoming exciting recruit (from trade or draft). P.S Edit the thread to make a poll please.
  20. If your even in town I'd happily take you into the MCC (at the MCG) to watch a game.
  21. I agree with P-man, It's a tough ask but if the club can persuade Rockclifff to request a trade I'd happily see pick 2 go for him, heck I'd happily see the Sylvia compo go as well just to land him. Yes it's highly unlikely... although so was Paul Roos. Time will tell.
  22. It's a tough call because we don't know how successful some will become. If any, Jack Grimes will be one. Jamar has stated his excitement over his last contract signing that expires next year he will be a one club player. I think there will be a good chance with Jack Viney too, although who knows these days in relation to GAJ.
  23. I like the sound of Shuey although would prefer Rockliff. Thank you for the updates Mr. Clark Kent
  24. Looks like the AFL US trip regarding equity throughout the competition was a huge success. The Swans benefit from their extended salary cap to sign Franklin on a long term deal, not to mention Tippett last year. They also sign a likely top 10 pick or easily first rounder via zone selection. All of this after one premiership and top 4 finish.
