Unfortunately, I can't make or watch the game today. Does anyone know how long it takes for the AFL app to have the replay (of quarters) uploaded? I do have the $90 live subscription. Very much contemplating ignoring all media to watch the replay tonight (unawares) if possible. Don't want to wait until tomorrow though.

ANB also posted it on his instagram.

ANB signed on for 2 more years. It was announced last weekend.

We often hear "we have too much of that type" or something along those line. I firmly disagree with these kinds of statements. I think we could have at least an upgrade in each part of the field. But I say that with regards to the next few years. I'm still adamant we need another gun midfielder because our midfield is not currently within the top 3 of the competition. Those worth targeting and currently out of contract (OOC) include Kelly (GWS), Hopper (GWS), and Billings (St.Kilda). Alternatively, the likes of Wines (PA) and Macrae (W.B) are out of contract next year if we can wait. Any of these should be on our radar. Particularly considering Vince, Lewis and Jones' days are numbers (1 - 3 years max). Finally, Balic (Freo) also represent a bargain acquisition who should be gettable with a 3rd or 4th round pick. I'd also like to see the club target another small forward (is it a priority, not really). Currently, OOC who could catalyze our team success includes Smith (GWS) and Materra (GC). The latter is currently looking for a trade. Of course, another mature (second) ruckman is needed. Goldstein could fit this and help us into the start of our premiership window. Especially considering both he and Gawn can play forward (thus rotate between the ruck). However, one must ask what will be his price and if it's too high, which I suspect, I think we could find a back-up elsewhere, albeit not as good. As we have read here time and time again... Lever. He should definitely improve our backline. If we get him across I suspect Frost will be used as trade bait considering he's OOC at seasons end. Would also inquire about Stringer (W.B) if the Dogs opt to throw him on the table (as hinted in the media (?)). At his best he is a freak, at his worst he is a ghost. But similar to Goldy at North, I suspect the Dogs would be asking for too much.

Very harsh on Hannan. The stats don't do his game justice. I watched him a fair bit today. He times his run off the centre square perfectly to be the first reserve at the contest (better than the others). He got burnt a couple times in the 50 when open (when it went to a contest at the square). And his forward pressure was excellent, for example Brisbane were out on the members wing. He ran hard to stop the man who took the mark from taking off, forcing him to chip kick to the second guy out. Again Mitch ran hard to prevent the second from getting out up the field. They were then forced to kick it to a contest that went to ground as he had bought the team enough time to set up defensively. For this Mitch didn't get single stat but solely prevented them from getting out and up the field as we saw too many other times today. That's just a couple examples. I rated him today.

OUT: Wagner, Vince, and Stretch IN: Salem, Maynard, and Viney (if fit)

I'd be happy to take Lever, but why do we think he's the highest priority? We need a replacement for Vince and other fringe midfielders. It will likely be another couple years and the same will said for Lewis and Jones. If we're to truly challenge for a premiership we need one of, if not the best midfield in the competition.

David Schwartz we know you read DL. Raise the topic on radio.

Where there's smoke there's fire. We see it all too often. These umpires are definitely questionable. It does make me wonder if they're getting paid off. I genuinely try to see it from an unbiased perspective at games, but these one sided games are getting out of hand. The betting industry has never been bigger. Something is wrong.

I understand why the AFL want to block some in the media, but at the same time, the media is there to expose and prevent corruption in the AFL. There is a balance and it is up to the public to decide what they consider to be rubbish scuttlebutt or factual. I would hate to see the AFL have any form of control of leverage over the media.

Yeah it's a rubbish decision. The MRP is a joke. The Wines incident was bar far worse, along with several of the gut punches (to the floating ribs or liver region) I've seen this year that have passed.

Where can I find a vision of it? I couldn't find it in the game highlights. I do have access to the replay. Does anyone know when it occurred in the game? EDIT: Just seen it in the Monday wrap, not to worry.

Looking ahead ... the Path to September

They're not mate. That's the MFC 2017 line up. Blame it on the graphics which is inferior to minecraft. -
Excellent proposal. It would be tough indeed. Certainly worth the discussion. Should also come at a lower cost than that rumoured for Kelly.

Who said we'rs restricted to one recruit?

Yeah he's back-row centre. Strangely looking tanned with black hair. The commentators also call him "Jack Watt". Let's blame it on AFL corruption -

I have no doubt in the club's development program, as well as Weideman's ability to play. I say that without the rose coloured glasses and bias. Why? - Tall forwards generally take longer to develop. - He will physically mature with age. - He's shown some exciting glimpses of what he's capable of. - Tall forwards generally have patches of form (a few weeks on, a few weeks off). - Even Josh Schake (pick 2, same draft) is currently out of form.

Definitely questionable. When watching the game I try to be unbiased and see it for how it is. Generally I think I do it pretty well. However, time and time again it just seems far too strange. Particularly after watching other matches between other sides. I understand there is the odd slip or poor call, I can accept that, but not the constant one-sided bias. Either AFL corruption or organised crime is playing a part in the AFL fixture (not just MFC games).

I think Hibberd, T. Mc and O. Mc were monumental in defence today. They stopped a lot of leaks and goals from their talls.

6. Pedersen 5. Jones 4. Hibberd 3. Harmes 2. Brayshaw 1. T. McDonald

The maggots in yellow have gifted them four goals so far

Had a dilemma this morning. I didn't meet my weekly goals at work (thesis writing) so was torn between going into work and the game. Had the Mrs. "burning" me about going to the game. So was going into work. But then I asked myself how much writing will I actually get done? I know I'll be watching the game from my 5" phone screen. The Bunsen burner decided to go shopping to some vintage fair... F*** it! I've thrown on my MFC shirt and heading in now on the train... the thesis can wait. Go Dees!!!

Has Frost been dropped because he put off contract talks? Or simply considered to be under performing?

Start of the quarter I thought. Wow, we're spreading well and hitting up targets by foot. Then... they step up, we begin to over-handball and continue to miss tackles. Frustrating.
