He was about 5 levels above Jurrah. Jaka - 201 goals in 47 games Jurrah - 81 goals in 36 games Jakovich kicked bags in finals. In 47 game with Melbourne, he kicked 7+ goals on 10 occasions. Jurrahs best was 5. AJ was a superstar. Only longevity stopped him being an all time great of the game. Kicked an absurd amount of behinds too, if he had been more accurate... wow.

We need Gaff or someone like him. After being lukewarm a few days ago, I am 100% on the get Gaff train now. Our entire midfield are contested ball winning beasts, and balance is needed. Get the right mix in there and we will be even better in 2018 and beyond.

Slowly getting over the devastation of missing the finals by a whisker. I want to give a shout out to Jake Melksham, who was magnificent for the Dees , especially once Goody moved him to a new role half way through the season. He kicked at least one goal in his last 12 matches, a streak he will take into next season. He kicked 21 goals from the last 12 games. He kicked some clutch goals at crucial stages. He makes it look easy kicking goals from outside 50. A powerful kick of the footy. And while the goals were raining down, he was also shutting down his direct opponent more often than not. There was a lot of angst when we gave up a 2nd rounder for him , especially after he was rubbed out for a season, but he showed he was worth it. If he can continue to excel in his new role it will be huge for the team .

Goodys game plan requires forward pressure..... Hogan, Watts and Stringer in the same forward line would be a disaster. Thought I'd gladly trade Watts for Stringer.

I dont mind him at all. Hes a total pro who knows his role. Certainly an upgrade on Jake Spencer, and he can play forward/ruck.

I'd trade him for a solid pick that could be used in the Gaff / Lever deals, if required.

What would you trade for him? I agree that he fills a need, as does Lever. We would likely need pick 10 for Lever, and the Eagles will ask a lot for Gaff.
