  1. I was to young to see the great Robbie Flower in action. But my old man has a tape of the great on the footy show in the late 80s in a handball comp. I put it on youtube last year. Have a look if you havent already seen, very rare. Also does any one actually remember him on it? Enjoy lets all smile.
  2. Is it Misson's fault they looked unfit, could not run, and looked slow?
  3. How the [censored] can he re injury his hamstring. He was babied through the whole NAB cup, they took every precaution and kept saying our main focus is to get him right for round 1. Round 1 rolls away and Neeld said he was 2-3 days short. now this what the actual [censored] is going on.
  4. Where did i state Toumpas wont become a good player or make it at AFL level ? I posted this because there are huge similarities
  5. I have posted the profiles of the players when they were drafted I just see to many similarities to ignore, Forget Martins of field issues but we seem to draft similar types of players and get sucked into drafting players that play well at SANFL and WAFL level Trengrove and Jimmy both played SANFL when they were playing under 18sand are very similar players. Good skills but are not super quick. Martin and Wines both built like bulls from Bendigo both love hard contested style footy. Very important fact is they WIN there own footy, this is very important, its all fine and well if you are a good kick but you need to be able to get the footy first. This is what melbourne is lacking. We seem to recruit good foot skills players. Strauss, Watts, Tappy and co. But they seem to get lost in the game and struggle to get a kick. Anyways I just find this very interesting. Jack Trengrove Sturt Midfielder, 18, 185cm, 82kg A mega-fit runner who is a strong mark and classy finisher. Had superb under-18 carnival as SA captain and was best-on-ground in the SANFL preliminary final with 29 disposals. . JIMMY TOUMPAS (W'ville West Torrens, 18, 183cm, 77kg) Goal-kicking midfielder who gets plenty of the ball and has an outstanding work ethic. Proved his credentials by starring in the SANFL seniors in the past two years Dustin Martin Bendigo Pioneers Midfielder, 18, 187cm, 86kg Hardball winner from Castlemaine who averaged 25 disposals with Bendigo in the TAC Cup this year. Ranked equal second in the inaugural kicking test at draft camp. OLIVER WINES (Bendigo Pioneers, 18, 185cm, 83kg) Strong inside midfielder with a hard edge at the ball, especially at stoppages. Ferocious tackler who wins plenty of the ball and runs all day.
  6. This is not all that unrealstic Buddy is almost certain to leave Hawthorn has and ageing midfield Mitchell 30 Sewell 29 Burgoyne 29 Hodge 28 I say watch this space, Clarko is a smart man and he will already be putting his best intrest firsts, just like Mr Ross Lyon get out of there at the right time!
  7. Ok I had a time to sleep on it and calm down these are the changes I would make tell me what you think. Grimes Frawley Jetta Watts T Mcdonald Terlich M Jones Viney Davey Howe Dawes Blease Byrnes Clark Dunn Jamar Sylvia N Jones Fitzpatrick Rodan, Mckenzie (only for tag on watson/goddard), Sub Toumpas Out Nicholson, Pederson, Sellar, Garland, Tapscott,Gillies In Fitzpatrick,Terlich,Jetta, T Mcdonald,Davey,Dawes Points Grimes must go back take over Garland role, we need leadership down there and he is more suited, yes it will hurt us a little bit in the midfield but him there on sunday, stil did not make a difference Garland Gets beaten far to often does to many mistake and never really has to pay at VFL, level send him back. Dunn Backline experiement does not look like it is working send him forward ethier has defensive forward or 4th 5th tall. very lucky to still be in. Fitzpatrick I dont care if he is under done, will chose him over Sellar and Pederson any day let him play 3rd tall/Ruck Byrnes,Blease, Davey Pressure Pressure Pressure, attack attack attack, lock it in the 50 let them run Thoughts?
  8. Spoke on MMM Rather than play stupid games and see who can grow the longest beard, how about train? They are a shambles," he said on Triple M. "If I was Mark Neeld I'd say to the conditioning guy, 'I don't give a crap (about recovery)'. "I'd get 'em up at 4.30am (on Monday morning) and give them a 10km time-trial and then a swim afterwards. "Actually, a 10km time-trial, then make them watch this game (as punishment). "They dress like AFL footballers, look like AFL footballers, but don't play anything like one. I've never been as disappointed in a team."
  9. If Mitch Clark is fine to play this week that is the only postive I see along with young J Viney
  10. Its the whole Trengrove Martin Debate Trengrove & Toumpas so similar both SA boys, boy played senior footy, good skills, Dustin Martin Oliver Wines Huge ,strong ,explosive, mature bodies I fear we keep repeating history
  11. Yes I seen it, It was a laughing stock ,No idea what they were doing, I also even saw Mckenzie step onto the ground then the trainer quickly grab him back to the bench, dont know how the AFL offical missed it
  12. Be on the next coaching selection panel. (serious)
  13. Toumpas was not ready today Played limited time in round 1 kicked a goal. did not do much in round 3 v the Saints struggled is what all reports were saying. I said in a early thread he should be made to earn his spot, consecutive best on grounds at Casey then he should get a call up. Not just because he is a early round draft pick, we have made this mistake time and time again Watts Queens birthday 09. In saying that Toumpas is our least worry. But I would have liked to see Wines in the red and blue Stil early to tell, Wines looks the goods and he sure stuck it up our recruiters today!
  14. I have backed Dan Nicholson to many times to count on my hands But that marking attempt in the 1st qtr when he chose to double fist instead of taking a mark and copping the contact was absolutely gutless and set the tone for the day. It was one of the worst things I seen all day. Along with Sellar who dropped that easy chest mark in the forward line that qtr. Sellar never looked like taking a mark all day, he is a big tree trunk who can't move can't kick can't mark, Good Bye both players Thanks
  15. I am definitely relaxed. Go down and have a look at the kid you will see what I am talking about, I dont want to be harsh on him, but from what I seen from him today he is lacking in so many areas, Weight (the skinnest guy I have seen at AFL level) , Endurance, skills. It is why I asked the question what where his postives
  16. Went to training today and I witnessed this tiny skinny guy running around. When he got close I realised it was the new international rookie we signed Maia Westrup. I don't want to sound to critical but he looks like a 12 year old out there, he makes Cale Morton look big, can any one else back this up?. I also watched him cop a spray from Dawes for not following threw in his running drill, When I say spray I mean firm talk telling him how to do it properly. He has long long way to go from what I can see, I am not sure exactly what recruiters saw in him.
  17. Davey is in his last year of contract. Reported to be on 550k-650k a year. We have room to move!
  18. Every one chill out. Its a pre season game. Bring out the sword if we are 0-5 during the season
  19. Nicholson was going at 71.7% effective disposals per game last year. Is that below average?
  20. You dont rate Nicholson? WOW He is ultra competitive one on one. Does not get beaten to often. Plays tight Has expolsive pace good run and carry . Kicking is above average. Your reason is?? Mckenzie is in and under doing the hard thing, great tackler good tagger and yes his kicking is not great but he gives 100% every time. You need players like this
  21. For me Toumpas has not done nearly enough for round 1 Kent is ahead of him so he is my sub. Toumpas to start in VFl and actually earn a game getting few BOG for Casey.Games should not be given just because he is number 4 pick. Sellar over Pederson at the momment. Pederson also to play for Casey. Matt Jones and Terlich and also Magner very close would have them as emergencies . Garland Frawley Nicholson Watts T Mcdonald Dunn Trengrove Jones Blease Howe Dawes Sylvia Byrnes Clark Sellar Jamar Grimes Mckenzie Evans Viney Rodan Sub Kent
  22. Pencil him in for round 1. Wiill Play as 3rd tall for M Clark if fit and C Dawes. That makes Howe as the 4th tall. Sellar also will pinch hit in the ruck when Jamar has rest. Pederson back will start in VFL, will be good, he will have to earn his spot
  23. Mate awesome photos. You been hanging around Mitch Clark in your spare time haha
