  1. Inability to get clean possession inside 50 hasn't helped. Sandringham much better going inside 50
  2. Hunter... well let's see how he goes
  3. Dan Butler.... wasn't he the hottest property in AFL pre pandemic
  4. Long time since I can recall a time clash with the AFL game. Many have been close but basically one half and then the AFL game starts... Strange timing... Even a 12:45pm start would have avoided a clash
  5. Go the Orange Men
  6. They are not as bad as they play methinks. Tigers keeping them "honest" so to speak Won't make the HR mistake they made last year
  7. An extra team does nothing to help the number of TV games. Additional viewers in Tasmania would be few. Twentieth team... come on down
  8. Have the leaves finished falling yet at GP? Many thanks PS Out of interest does the oval suffer from dog droppings or is someone on pre training pooper scooper duty
  9. Plays for a little country town in the Central Vic wheat belt... Tyntynder. Last year he played for Bacchus Marsh after moving over from WA where he played for Peel Thunder. (He has been around)
  10. Is he on the Casey list... I don't think so If not there are rules as to when he can be used. (Not sure if he meets the 23rd player rule as I think that has an age limit)
  11. Definitely worth a thought. I can also see Kozzie racing from the 75 metre mark in to assist leaving the backman in his wake. Tactically though can you kill this set up by positioning a Lever type player at 50 who will just close down the forward kick. We could trial it at Casey. Last week we often had zero forwards when we got a rebound as they had all pushed up the ground
  12. Seems that no one likes Docklands (Beware the flip side is we will go there more often) Three of Marvel Stadium’s tenant clubs – Essendon, Carlton and St Kilda – have asked the AFL to reduce their number of games at the stadium that is wholly owned by the league. Essendon are asking that the Bombers’ long-standing split of seven games at Docklands and four at the MCG be changed to six and five in favour of the MCG. The Bombers have been the anchor tenant since the ground’s inception. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/grounds-for-complaint-why-dons-blues-and-saints-want-fewer-marvel-games-20240523-p5jfz7.html Interesting to see that the Pies are looking to sell their game at Marvel against GCS
  13. Hunter.. very strange selection
  14. It's a long season. AFL have finally got their wish of a relatively even competition. Luck, injuries, weather, travel breaks between games, fixture and umpiring have now become major competition deciders. In the past my interest went up a notch post mid season bye. Before then I looked for trends. From that perspective it's not encouraging at present but still a way to go. A win over the Pies would be nice
  15. Interesting review on the fine dining experiment at Docklands. Seems that it is off to a quiet start. https://www.theage.com.au/goodfood/melbourne-eating-out/does-marvel-stadium-s-new-fine-dining-restaurant-beat-a-meat-pie-at-the-footy-20240523-p5jg4z.html Begs the question of what do people want and where. The area surrounding the MCG is mainly a food desert. Why I'm not sure. How also do you run a business based on one or two peak days with constantly changing game times and crowd numbers. A tough gig My first visit to Amphora was during a footy game that drew 45,000 people. Only three of them were in the restaurant at half-time: there was an unbridgeable schism between the energy of the match and the dining room’s cosseted quiet. I came back to the venue to watch the Anzac Day match between Collingwood and Essendon. It was being played at a sold-out MCG, but there were only about 20 people watching it here on TV.
  16. Not much to excite in the two potentials of Tomlinson and Fullarton. Both have been average at best at Casey level. FWIW I'd have Fullarton in and swing Petty down back. Very surprised that Hunter is named as a possibility. His game last week for Casey was woeful and I rarely criticise players to this extent. He really didn't look interested. That means two spots and one sub left between Howes, Billings, Woewodin and Sparrow. Can't see Sparrow missing and probably not Howes so one of Billings or Woewodin is left as sub with the other missing out. This game should be a regulation win but... who knows
  17. Looking like it's going to be a year of who wins relative to us. Positions 1-10 up for grabs Time to get on the Eagles bandwagon and hope that they beat all before them. Somehow I doubt it will happen
  18. But.. Where's the Circus
  19. 3 goals 7 behinds there goes the accuracy and of course they have kicked 5 straight !!!
  20. Outscored them by 1 point that quarter mmmmmmmmmmm
  21. This is going off script to say the least
  22. Golly As Gomer P would say
  23. Breaking Away... Our new theme song
  24. Turner is who we needed but..............
