  1. Must say that I tend to agree simply because I think WCE can take Richmond out in the preliminary. Long way to go but fingers crossed. The Sydney Derby is strangely irrelevant. Will barrack for the Swans simply because I fear a resurgent GWS as they get their stars back.
  2. 19 degrees and light winds is the present prediction for next Friday. Cannot see any changes. Ironic that there is no VFL match for the fringe to push their case.
  3. Great last quarter. Now for the Hawks
  4. Stating the obvious but the next five minutes decides this game
  5. Should have... could have but we haven't. ..... So frustrating
  6. Need to capitalize on this quarter and deny them hope
  7. yep.. apparently played 6 games for the Casey senior squad and was then delisted at the end of the 2011 season after only one season. Went to Ohio State for 4 years and now playing for one of the top NFL teams. Great story
  8. Former Aussie Rules player Cam Johnston has left fans in awe with an incredible performance on debut for the Philadelphia Eagles. Johnston, who grew up playing Aussie rules and was drafted by the Melbourne Demons in 2011, is battle-hardened for the pressure of the NFL after spending four years punting for Ohio State University in front of home crowds of more than 100,000. https://au.sports.yahoo.com/bazooka-leg-aussie-stuns-america-nfl-debut-042649020.html
  9. Interesting aside to last nights game was the ruck duels ... or more appropriately... the irrelevance of the ruck duels. Tends to support the idea that no specialist ruck is better than a mediocre one who doesn't impact around the ground.
  10. would be very disappointed if he gets more than a year. His form is barely acceptable bar one game. Stretch is way in front of him and I would expect another mid fielder in the draft. The only thing going for him he that he now has the body strength to avoid being pushed off the ball. One year more at most.
  11. way too slow... could not help but wonder where all that break away speed was that they used to smash us in similar conditions
  12. that is the key perhaps... WCE to beat Toiges and then the GF against a nervous WCE. Lot of dreamin' though before those ducks are all in a row
  13. Feeling good against the Hawks... if we get there. GWS play a possession game reliant upon great skills albeit they play a lot faster then Hawthorn. We were able to shut down GWS so hopeful we could do the same against the Hawks. Tigers deny teams the corridor which is so important to quick ball movement. Frankly I had expected a better game from Hawthorn.
  14. scrappy game... understandable with the conditions shame about Hawks 2 easy misses... in the end that will probably be the difference
  15. was hoping for a decent downpour... the gardens certainly need it. Seems like the rain belt is going around the edge of town.
  16. So many possibilities.... four games ... all relatively line ball or 60/40 at best.
  17. not at all unlikely and remember the recipient club needs a lot of salary cap space. I suspect the top clubs are very good at keeping the salaries paid to their bottom 30 players well under control on the basis that they are given a chance to be in a successful club. The simple lesson from all this is that GCS should have traded Lynch last year. They would have got a player and a very good draft pick. That's the lesson we need to appreciate re Hogan albeit he is a restricted free agent. ( The compo will be paltry under the free agency system.)
  18. great shots... many thanks
  19. in his defence... I did have a look and when you go into the details of what is available GA it says "single seats only." Dod you find more? Mind you AFL members is still showing reasonable availability with an option to purchase two guest passes for level 4 and GA on the night. You would think it would be easy to come out with a simple statement from the AFL updated say twice daily.
