  1. are you referring to Le Cras?
  2. yeah but they are or each will be million dollar players.. can we afford them If Weideman performs in 2019 (50 goals) he will be a million dollar renewal. We got Tom Mac on the cheap (or a little cheaper) because he's not a long recognised forward.
  3. Can he be traded if he is out of contract? I suspect if a trade is required it is a nominal trade in that Saints will offer us a pick that we will not use.
  4. If Hogan signed with MFC tomorrow we would probably be offering Weideman this year or next for a first rounder plus. In this day and age you simply can't carry, game or salary cap wise, three key forwards. Hogan not signing practically decided for us what may have been a difficult choice. If you want to see what salary cap does to an unbalanced list have a look at GWS. They had planned for a premiership last year and this year. Now they look like having to unload Scully, Sheils and Lobb to ameliorate their salary cap issues.
  5. Name me anyone who should have been in the 22 in his stead this year
  6. Six weeks ago I would have been of the same opinion but Weideman's four weeks or so in the team at seasons end have more than convinced me that he is ready for the big stage. It's not his marking and goal kicking that have impressed but rather his willingness to get the ball and dish it out including getting inside the pack. In a perverse way the injury to Hogan may have been an advantage to the overall progress of the team.
  7. must say I'm not that happy about him leaving in the sense that he has potential but no way would we offer a three year deal (one plus one perhaps) so best wishes Dean and may you star against everyone but us.
  8. this could be the making of the era we have all been waiting for. To have three class forwards is a surfeit of riches. Sure we could devise a gameplan around them but the chance to trade what is almost a surplus player for a known deficiency or two does not come along often.
  9. have they made use of the external concourse (outside the stadium) for bars and seating area etc like the Adelaide oval. The Perth weather would make for a lovely venue
  10. I will be surprised if Hunt is with us post 2019. Very much hope otherwise. Lewis' spot is there for the taking as we all know but no one at Casey has got close to demanding it.
  11. MFC need to get a lot better at their media management. Not the greatest week for the club on so many fronts. This week should all be about the journey to 50,000 members and we get this, not to mention Saturday's performance which cost us hell knows how many members.
  12. obviously Jack and Troy have fallen by the wayside ... is this the first crop of the new century or will that be next year?
  13. and that is what we have to get cooking to make the deal work our way. At present Freo think they are the only ones in the market which doesn't make for the best outcome. Trouble is Kennedy or Darling would need to be traded to give them some currency and not sure where they would get the other first rounder to make it work. Perhaps Jesse might like to try the surf at the Gold Coast?
  14. 6 and 9 is a bit light but it's getting there... depends what can be done with 9 player trade wise I would prefer 4 and 6 or thereabouts Mind you Redleg thinks we should get 4,6 and Brayshaw .. like his thinking
  15. Gaff only requires money ... as the lady says... please explain
  16. now you are starting to realize the benefits that might flow from trading Hogan. There is little doubt that the talks have been going for weeks and the media leaks are part of an orchestrated process. As to the Eagles, Kennedy is not getting any younger so they could be very interested in a succession plan that might even include trading Kennedy back to a Victorian club.
  17. As my mate Conan Doyle used to say... Quick Watson... the game is afoot.. Now to get Eagles and Freo into a good old fashioned bidding war. Have we had confirmation by the way that Hogan wants to go west? A competition wide bidding war would be great.
  18. so you'd want the equivalent of three early first rounders (Brayshaw was 2 IIRC).... wow that is a high asking price
  19. he could of course say... "trade me or I go next year" as a restricted free agent. Life isn't straight forward... Players now decide... clubs take what they can get
  20. Looks like JKH will get another year given Bugg's delisting
  21. 2017 was a great year for Tom that ended with the game against the Swans. Thought he would make it back in 2018 but it was not to be. Thanks Tom.
  22. A strong player for Casey and a very useful depth player for MFC. He will be missed.
  23. you may be right and if so GWS will get minimal compo. This is why with a Hogan trade this year we "might" be able to put together a better deal for GWS
  24. Hogan would have got cold waiting for the ball last week just like Weideman
  25. The Drums are certainly beating. It will happen if the deal is good enough. May for Hogan is laughable by the way. Key Forwards are worth 2 low first rounders (top 6) or their equivalent. May and a low first rounder is doable if the list committee think we need May. Personally I'd prefer a strong outside mid.
