  1. The next three weeks will decide our season. Need to win two. Win three and the lid is off.
  2. F1 starts its European circuit next week. Some of the tracks are in mind blowingly beautiful spots and occasionally the racing is good. The Sky commentary is the best in sport.
  3. well that ended quickly
  4. perhaps they suffer from the well known MFC odds and evens disease
  5. Hells Bells are you able to fully walk around the ground or is it sectioned off Thanks
  6. Worthy of a royal commission
  7. Have always wondered why we have never produced an NFL field goal kicker. Sure the skill is different to punting but it's a skill used in NRL and rugby.
  8. Tempted but 70 minute drive and forecast 40 kph winds have put me off Looking forward to reports from the more intrepid brigade
  9. I also cheat OD in that I watch a program on another streaming product and skip in and out of kayo using the fast forward button. Must say I have been doing less ff during games than last year.Hell some of them were boring
  10. "Streamotion" thanks LT Half way thorugh the Bombers match my Kayo video came up with an error. Thought the kids had logged on and used the screens but turned out that cache was full. Had to empty the cache which lost all the log ins which required reactivation etc etc... missed a quarter.. first world problems
  11. with both Port and Tiges losing last week this could be interesting. Medium to strong winds but otherwise conditions good
  12. no difference in the deal whatsoever so go for your $5 deal Not a golf fan but as I understand it Kayo carries all the major golf tournaments plus a few levels below but it does not carry the "golf channel." Same situation for tennis where the specialist tennis channle is not carried.
  13. Out of interest how often do the development players train with the primary list? I assume they also have commitments to the clubs they actually play for each weekend.
  14. the ladder has never been Melbourne's friend. In almost every year that we have made finals we have relied on results of other games to get us just that little higher It's part of the MFC curse
  15. full AFL member with MFC support and used barcode so no they just like to save money by not opening the upper sections.
  16. just went in to look at the AFL availability.... very limited and dotted around the ground If you believe the ticket selling site it must be nearly a sellout which of course it isn't For example level 4 southern stand ... not available ?
  17. ah the old ratings system... based on the 60's demographic somethings do need changing................ no wonder streaming services are taking over
  18. strange to stop the Thursday night games. I would have thought they were rating well. I think some of the lesser clubs would have been quite happy to trade off lower ground attendance for TV exposure. Add in shorter half time interval and you have a great TV package
  19. those Sunday night flights back from Hobart aren't cheap ($250 approx) Only $80 on the way down
  20. Saturday night is behind Friday night and arguably behind Thursday. Better than Sunday afternoon
  21. so I have only one ruck on my list knowing that I can get a backup from another club? Why reward bad planning Loaning out players in the EPL is completely different as the top 6 aren't really competing with the teams who are the beneficiaries of the loan
  22. the problem I see is time in possession. We need to be a lot more efficient with our conversion rate as I doubt Geelong will give us the time in possession that GWS etc allowed us.
  23. Interesting article in the Guardian today on County cricket in England using automatic cameras to stream matches free of charge. Would love to see these used in VFL and potentially in AFL for additional coverage. The technology is obviously rather good these days. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2021/apr/07/full-stream-ahead-county-cricket-rolls-out-digital-revolution-for-championship PS.. just noticed what I thought was a picture of a very fancy auto camera has a person out of frame ?
  24. there were some great comps. I was lucky enough to attend a match between Redcliffs and Mildura in the early 80's. Probably a crowd of around one thousand and vigourous supporting of both sides. And of course during the 70's the VFA's televised Sunday game was almost game of the week. Then slowly but surely the AFL sucked the money out of every comp and now they complain that they have to support grass roots footy. Sure it's progress but you have to wonder if it could be done better...
  25. it was always round 3 but this is effectively round 6. Unfortunately it is a reflection on how the senior coaches regard the VFL. I suspect they would be happy to keep it as practice matches.
