  1. I got all 9 last week I think. (It wasn't hard) This week is medium to slightly hard in the level of difficulty Bulldogs ( would love a GWS win) Geelong ( a hard one but at Kardinia Park they should win) Swans ( GCS could upset but I doubt it) Lions MFC ( of course) Freo Hawks ( Crows for those who want a value pick especially if cold and windy in Tassie) Pies(should win but who knows) Port
  2. Agree... he is a prime candidate for trading at year's end. Getting his salary off the books and perhaps a player or pick in return is a big turnaround from a few months ago.
  3. strange you can have 85% at the MCG but only 75% at Docklands
  4. yep knock down the old stand and MCG size oval
  5. Richmond have a big redevelopment plan in before the council. Will be interesting to see how they go
  6. Collingwood have money to burn. If Richmond go ahead with their redevelopment Collingwood will be the only mega club without the mega training complex which for everyone but Richmond means 2 ovals, indoor training centre, pool and gym plus admin centre. The old Olympic pool is heritage listed which limits what can be done. Perhaps they can do something more with Olympic Park but you have to wonder if a training centre is a good use of valuable land in the sporting precinct. Social clubs are now officially dead IMO. Once the decision was made to ditch pokies that was the end
  7. tend to agree The hawks game was probably our best and even then it took over three quarters to get on top on the scoreboard. If we are to win I think Oliver will need to have a BOG performance. My real MFCSS worry is a blowout followed by a wet and windy 50/50 game the next week against North
  8. why not both OD. Not sure we're quite up to rolling them yet. More hoping it's a decent dress rehearsal for later in the year.
  9. Have been to Punt Road in 2018 for a VFL game. We lost but it was a very nice winters day. Other than the stand which seats maybe 1000 there's not much room and certainly very little additional seatng. They have also made it difficult to get to the Punt road side of the ground where there is maybe 15 feet between the ground and the wire fence. The admin/ gymn centre almost touches the ground. 5000 would pack it out. Overall not one of my favourite VFL grounds. To get in you buy a ticket at the gate for $10 or $5 for away club members. Usual scan in required. Have not seen any mechanism for pre-purchase. The food was a take away truck with nothing spectacular as I recall it. Hangin out for my next Burra burger !! Hope this helps. PS at the Box Hill game last weekend you were allowed onto the oval at the quarter breaks which was a pleasnt surprise.
  10. now allowed 85k at the MCG so I expect there could be some more tickets available. Hopefully all those confident Tigers supporters will buy the $70 plus dollar seats and help the Demon cause
  11. I must confess to watching the replay of the last quarter of last weekend's game twice. Haven't done that for many years
  12. Does this go down as one of those.... "it sounded like a good idea at the time " moments. The irony is that it has strengthened the position of the various associations at least in the short term
  13. They're special at Punt Road In response to the claim by the National Trust that the grandstand shoould be preserved and not demolished as part of their new development.... "Richmond, however, argued that the retention of the Richmond Football Club at the club’s Punt Road Oval base was of far greater historical significance than the removal of the stand." https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/national-trust-tackles-richmond-tigers-on-grandstand-demolition-20210420-p57kvs.html
  14. The various football fiefdoms have not exactly covered themselves in glory FIFA full of crooks EPL raiding world football to the extent that outside Europe leagues are just a shadow of their former selves (look at South America) And of course it was these fiefdoms who invited the foxes into their lair anyway.
  15. Obviously not a visitor to this forum It's crazy. God I hope they beat us, there heads will explode and then ill sit back and watch when they lose a final. No supporter group drinks the coolaid like melbourne supporters and finish it off with this modest statement If we bring our pressure and intensity like we did against the saints they are no chance. Let's be honest guys when we are on and hunting no team in history can be beat us let alone the comp. That's why we have won 3 flags out of 4 . Because our best is by far and away the best in the comp and of all time.
  16. The North game is weather dependent. Nice day...we win easily Wind and rain... 50/50 Just like Kardinia Park we get the questionable stadiums
  17. What is the TP column? Thanks
  18. well well Is this the end of football as we have known it for the last 20 odd years. Will be a fascinating study in power politics at so many levels not to mention TV rights battles. How it will impact development of Australian players will be interesting. Could mean more spots in the various European national leagues as clubs replace the Super League teams. O to live in such interesting times
  19. If a person has home and away membership I wonder whether the member's club pays the home club for attendance?
  20. 100% attendance is a big issue for the MFC. Club makes very little additional revenue from member attendance. We make it from Tiger followers paying for entry. The limits on the formal Anzac ceremonies means that it's not a good look to move to 100% this weekend. My guess is 85% capacity... a lovely compromise based on "zoning."
  21. Interesting stat revealed during yesterday's game on ABC radio. This season MFC leads the comp in the number of behinds kicked. Late in the 4th quarter we were 62 goals...62 behinds Definitely something to work on..my guess is that ideally goals should be double the behinds figure.
  22. On T Mac he is an obvious trade at the end of the year. The other is Weid if he doesn't perform. Amazing if we can get a good trade for a player who no one wanted even with a slary subsidy only a few months away. Meanwhile what happens....??
  23. If B Brown is fit and he looked that way on Sunday at the ground. Spent the whole game on the ground and moved up and down with the play. On that basis he has the runs on the board way in front of Weideman. The only issue which is one for the experts is team balance. Brown is not known for crashing packs and bringing in the smalls. Hard choice and in a way a great week to have the dilemna.
  24. That gives you five forward of centre talls Gutsy... could be revolutionary... but does it work in a Melbourne winter Both T Mac and Weid have backed up Gawn in recent seasons
