  1. Friday night is one game national telecast. Saturday night... two games split telecast Guess what our sponsors like
  2. Hibberd's spot will probably come up for grabs sometime next year. Lockhart needs to improve by a factor of around 50% to be in the running. Must admit I didn't see Jordon as a prospect based on 2019 VFL games but he has surprised us all. Perhaps one of Bedford, Chandler or Lockhart could make the grade
  3. would be amazing if Vic escapes another outbreak between now and September.
  4. Was tonight's game in Perth always scheduled for Monday night or was there a reason? Don't mind a Monday night game but in the same weekend that we have had a Thursday night game it makes for a long round.
  5. First jabs = higher likelihood of second jabs = increasing immunity = < vaccine hesitancy
  6. so does that mean masks on while seated?
  7. Quite like the headline on the match report on the AFL website........ Suns rise on Mars
  8. Close on Mars PS.. just got closer
  9. GCS are totally funded by the AFL. Make no mistake this is an AFL decision. Suns v Giants today showing GCS are no pushover. It's not as though we have not travelled this year
  10. not meaningless at all. home ground means we don't have to wear white shorts ? And of course Brisbane can still end up 1 or 2 ?
  11. AFL site still showing tickets available for Richmond v Collingwood this afternoon. Amazing drop in crowds even considering the form of the two clubs.
  12. This is a seriously big game for MFC Go Saints !
  13. didn't know that but just found a report on the circumstances.. https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-great-rex-hunts-onair-blow-up-ends-his-return-to-radio/news-story/c2764e2e6250140aef37290b141be2f7
  14. Not sure if Joel will be on our list next year. Could be saved for depth. Probably the same with Baker but he could possibly go in search of game time at another club. Mitch Brown... I don't really know if he'll go around again. Weideman didn't do enough today to worry the selectors. Not many VFL games left for a number to stake their claims.
  15. Just ask yourself if this were Collingwood vying for a top 4 spot. The trip to Darwin is far worse than a trip to Perth as is the impact the week after. In so many ways the AFL does us no favours.
  16. okay I thought without starring
  17. No one smashed the door down in that game from an AFL selection perspective. Category 1 . (Would consider) Melksham Category 2. (Keep it up) Sparrow Baker and AVB (just) Category 3 ( Neutral) Weid Chandler Bedford Bradtke is starting to look like a footballer
  18. 6. Petracca 5. Gawn 4. May 3. Lever 2. Pickett 1. Jordon with aplogies to several
  19. You've got to be kidding I thought we had said goodbye to the Darwin disaster
  20. can someone please explain how we a team on top of the ladder lost to Adelaide ?
  21. Just cannot undertand how Bombers v Crows rates a Friday night. Last roll of the dice perhaps for the Bombers but it's not that enthralling for the neutral supporter.
  22. heard that... they gave a year too.. was it 1979? I started racking my brain because I felt ashamed that I could not place him as a player
  23. It's the style of commentary. Not that many years ago Australian racing commentators were praised for their rapid fire commentary and ability to cover a field multiple times in a race by comparison to the slower style used in other countries. Similarly radio football commentators practised their crescendo style of call and tried to outdo each other on the comparative excitement stakes when describing a mark. Don't get me started on Rex Hunt. The trouble was these styles while great for radio were then taken to television but they forgot we can actually see what is happening and therefore don't need the bledding obvious explained to us. English soccer commentary is more to my style but the game admittedly at most times moves at a different pace. Frankly I'm not sure where the balance is but I know that the "excitement meter" needs to be dialled back a little. Of course in this day and age there is ampletechnological scope for an alternative commentary. As an aside when watching tennis I have the commentary off as they add so little. Would like to hear the "thwack" of the ball though.
  24. I see the ground is a mere stones throw from Aldi. Will they have special cheese platters available? Their 8 year old Scotch is not a bad drop actually. That Geelong road is not the most pleasant drive though these days. Not sure if I'll head along. Weather is looking fine but chilly.
  25. Time now for some serious thinking Top 4 looking strong for us Cats to win and Lions to lose would be a good outcome. A loss by both would be better. A lions win with a Cats loss might not be great in the longer term
