  1. Tigers ahead with accurate kicking... 5 goals straight It's a simple equation
  2. TMac had a very strong game last week.
  3. I strongly object to a 19th team if it means a rolling bye. Assuming 22 games each team will need two byes and if my mathematics is correct three teams will get their second bye in the last three weeks of the season. The ladder is integral to our game and a rolling bye will make a mockery of the concept. Twenty teams.... where is the money coming from? TV rights? Do the sums ....no pay TV model can work in Australia unless it is a loss leader. There are 8 million households. Assume market penetration of 25% gives you 2 million. Assume $50 a month subscription for 6 months and you get $600M. The present rights are around $500M a year. The market penetration level I have used would be impossible to achieve for a service providing one sport only. If you use a foxtel cable model and put sport on top of a basic entertainment service you need to charge at least $70 a month. At that price market penetration drops again. The other traditional revenue source was free to air advertising. This source has been savaged by digital advertising which can be delivered to targeted markets far more effectively than FTA TV ads. The pandemic showed us that the players aren't interested in pay cuts so where do the cuts come from.Community football has got less each year. Plus we have the increasing commitment to and cost of the AFLW. Growing the pie is a wonderful model but in reality at some stage the pie is all gristle and no meat. Perhaps the 20th team could come from New Zealand !!! 😎
  4. Would have been a good game for Salem to have one or two quarters Used to really like the VFL but it's going backwards
  5. Just curious why would he be playing this year for the Northern Knights and not for a VFL side.
  6. they used to joke about the NT Government saying that if you got one side of a street offside you could lose your seat. Interesting dilemna though in the sense that we are demanding that the State governments of Tasmania and NT fund new teams while the competition itself fully funds GCS and GWS
  7. A Sunday game at Frankston. A lovely ground but the local crowd can be lively to say the least. A great sausage sizzle as I recall
  8. NT should fund a summer comp with altered rules. Perhaps 14 a side and 15 minute quarters and triple headers. Build it off the local indigenous leagues and allow each team $X to have two or three "marquee" players. And most importantly get cheap and frequent flights to Darwin
  9. This makes sense. It marks our transition on so many levels
  10. Still firmly of the view that a fully fit Brisbane is our biggest competitor
  11. And Chandler got the same two week penalty ????
  12. 6-8 plus broken v fractured.... the distinction is very important
  13. How nice !!
  14. Dare we say.... Go Pies !!
  15. we're a happy team at Melbourne
  16. Well Well Well
  17. Could this be an upset !! 9 points
  18. That would be great !!
  19. You have to love junk time goals when it's us that are scoring them
  20. 12:15..... under a roof !!!
  21. Takes me back to our forward structure of 2018. Please... not again
  22. Has to rate as perhaps our worst quarter for the year yet somehow we outscored them by two points
  23. Need to put on another couple this quarter
