NON-MFC: Round 3, 2022
Rarely would one witness a game where one ruckman is so absolutely dominant but at the same time ineffectual

NON-MFC: Round 3, 2022
Some important games this weekend in shaping the top ten and the rest. Hawks and Carlton (with one being undefeated) skews the longer term perspective perhaps. The interesting ones for me are Pies V Cats, Adelaide v Port and Saints v Richmond. You can mount a case for each being a comparative upset result.

Charlie Spargo Contract talks
has nicely moved from the 15-20 brigade selection wise into the 10-15 slot. Could be a 200 gamer easily
-
Jordan Lewis - a retrospective
Not his fault someone couldn't push him out of his spot in his second and even more so in his third year. When drafted most were hoping for two years tops and the third mainly at Casey. We also had few senior (post 28 yo) players We definitely got what we paid for

Who to cull?
if we had been able to trade Melksham last summer things would be easier. $400k saving. T Mac on another year of 600k plus doesn't help. Sure the impact is reduced next year and Brayshaw is probably facing a cut but it wont be easy. An increase in the TPP cap is not necessarily of help because it frees up money for the bidding clubs as well

CHANGES: Rd 03 vs Essendon
Last year most of the season we would head for the right forward pocket so the default was OOB and reset. Perhaps since BB we are going more central
-
CASEY: Rd 01 vs Sandringham
only saw the last quarter. Nice win but no one bashing the door down good handball but perhaps recipients too close leading to congestion and turnovers

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Gold Coast
Not prepared to write off TMac based on last night. All the MFC talls except LJ failed to some degree. Hope Weid gets back for today's game at Casey

CASEY: Rd 01 vs Sandringham
yes (well you used to ) but not sure how it works without a plastic membership $5 for an away match

What they are saying at Carrara
Do they say more than GWS fans I wonder ? Seriously though the clubs ought to insist on seeing the 5 and ten year business case in order to determine when to cut their losses

TEAMS: Rd 02 vs Gold Coast
On the basis of exposed VFL practice form looks like Bedford is the sub. The opening VFL match is set for 2pm Sunday. I wonder if any of the emergencies will make it back

2022 Tickets Thread
no problem with moving to digital but how could it be thought it was a good idea to introduce at the same time as you are trying to overcome covid hesitancy. Interesting to see level 4 of the AFL members closed for our Bulldogs game. Another smart move !

NON-MFC: Round 1, 2022
Would have preferred an Adelaide win

NON-MFC: Round 1, 2022
The 1000 goal game was a myth this week as we all know but they couldn't stop promoting it. With 4 goals still to go I doubt Buddy will crack it next week either against Geelong (Friday night prime time of course). Perhaps against the Bulldogs at Docklands the following week

NON-MFC: Round 1, 2022
Not a great crowd... looks mid 40's perhaps 50k

NON-MFC: Round 1, 2022
Most rounds have around 4 meaningful games. It's part of the natural ebb and flow of a season. Let interest grow naturally without attempting the artificial TV hype. It has already cost the MFC about $200k in no away attendees at the GF replay

NON-MFC: Round 1, 2022
It might only be round 1 but because of the contrived AFL scheduling they are almost all 8 point games against close rivals. Glad we got our win on Wednesday. Bulldogs are definitely top 8 if not top 4 so that's one big notch. From an MFC perspective it's hard to hypothesize on what could be the better result from today's two interstate games. I'm hoping for a draw between Cats and Essendon. Being a cats home game I had assumed it was at Kardinia park but of course a power house team like Essendon doesn't travel there

NON-MFC: Round 1, 2022
All day football today 2pm, 5pm and 8pm TBH my max is 3 games a weekend and even then some are with the fast forward button. Has the AFL over exposed the product with its "big splash" approach. Add to that every game is a 50/50 and I'm feeling slightly manipulated
