  1. Can we beat the Pies Seriously one could see for weeks that the forward line wasn't working
  2. Definitely need more forward yardage from Oliver 3 kicks and 7 handballs is well down on his usual self
  3. Has the Emperor any clothes? The next half will answer that question
  4. 5 goals 3 to nothing since Gawn's goal
  5. And we took Bedford in as the sub without TMac Why why why
  6. you spoke too soon
  7. The Vulcan motto of "Kick Straight and Prosper" is well alive in this quarter
  8. Petty off injured ??
  9. Good win with few standouts. Hibberd much improved on last week and showing he's not finished yet. Baker probably BOG
  10. Casey forwards can't buy a mark
  11. Very good quarter from Baker
  12. about 15 -20 minutes top. In the 80's the seconds would clap the firsts onto the field and then head up the race. Generally the last quarter was watched by very close to the match day crowd
  13. so this game is going to finish over an hour before the main game. So much for curtain raisers
  14. Swans winning the ground battles this quarter
  15. Multiple wasted chances from Casey and then a goal to the Swans
  16. Having big problems establishing a decent stream
  17. Hadn't thought of that but makes sense
  18. Eagles cannot be as bad as they are performing. Almost makes one wish we had relegation to keep some honesty in the competition
  19. Assuming T Mac is out I would be rethinking the medi sub. Ideally a flexible back/forward. Any ideas? Not sure Majak fits the bill but perhaps
  20. It allows them to close large sections of the ground thus reducing staff numbers, cleaning costs etc. Unfortunately I see it continuing Perhaps they will have small general admission areas but they will be limited and of course you will need to pre-purchase on line
  21. Excellent article.... https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/beating-the-dees-what-can-other-teams-take-out-of-dockers-playbook-20220602-p5aqka.html You play keepings off, it plays into their hands,” Burke said. “We saw St Kilda do it in the first half, which, speaking with Brett Ratten afterwards, wasn’t their game plan. “If you can be really good at the contest and take the ball forward they can be exploited,” Burke said. “When you’re unsure that’s when the Melbourne way can damage you. You have to be brave, bold and take them on.”
  22. Geelong is funded by the Vic Govt in the form of a free stadium. It has a local population base bigger than Hobart and has an existing supporter base near equal to the whole of Tasmania's population. The better comparisons are Saints, North and even ourselves. Hopefully the clubs demand to see a full business case that encompasses various alternatives including folding one of GWS or GCS and replacing it with a team from Tasmania. Placing KPI's on the continuation of the licence is a ploy. What Commission would throw them out after ten years when the odds are that four or five of the core clubs aren't meeting the same KPI's
  23. Must agree OD it surprised me. These days however with closed training sessions we see little of what is happening. There is also the problem that the VFL standard is so low it does little to hone the skills. Trust the Force Luke !!
  24. This is a relatively easy selection week. Next week with Salem to return is the harder one. Salem will play in the VFL this weekend. Hibberd didn't play a full game against Frankston so he has another VFL round this week. Outs: May, Melksham Weideman Bedford Ins Tomlinson, Harmes McDonald Langdon Medi sub... probably Bedford Caveat: I'm not sure Petty is 100%
