Can we talk about Kolt?
I love how we want to throw this kid out as a bust, yet rave about Neale-Bullen. People laud what he brought to the club in the last 4 years at the Dees, BUT in his entire 192 games at the Dees, he averaged only 15.79 possessions. And in his first 15 games, it was just over 10! The Kolt is at 9.88. Based on these stats, ANB would have been GAWNE a long time before he grew into his role. Unfortunately, our supporters think patience is only applicable for hospitals.

JvR Re-Signs until 2029
I'm sorry but you don't get a plumber to fix a faulty powerpoint.

Time to go Goody?
The issue with Binman's stats is that mindset cannot be measured by Campion Data. It is measured with your eyes, and we all saw that we were ranked 18th for it yesterday. It has been the biggest issue in the last four seasons is the big ego players only buy into their own way of playing selfish footy. Trac wants to play mid at the detriment of the team to increase his Brownlow votes (quote from a very high Melbourne person no longer at the club).

GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast
Well, how do you get him ready? Play him there. What do we do instead? Play Trac and Oliver in there. That's worked a treat THIS YEAR hasn't it.

GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast
That's it. Officially done 20 minutes into the game. Season over. There is no way this coaching and playing group can continue. We need a complete cleanout. Whoever is not going to be part of our next flag move them on. If they don't want to be there, move them on. Thanks for the flag, Goody but you cannot give anything more. Choco and Richardson, you can move on, too. I'd rather cop it for a year than watch whatever this is being served up right now. The days of soft Melbourne since 2021 must come to an end.

He did break his hand early in the first quarter.

Harry McKay leaving Blues?
No point having the best looking mailboxes on the street if Australia Post's delivery is still ****house!

The Kalani White Thread
Well if they are that means they are going to be TWO big units down in 2026!

The Kalani White Thread
I've heard from a very reliable source who is very in the know with the Gold coast suns that White will want to choose Melbourne so he can wear the number 34 like his dad did.

The List Manager
Did I read right? JVR who kicked 58 goals in two seasons with consistent footy, Rivers who was almost our best midfielder when Trac was gone, and Lever the intercept (and free kick giving) machine. I cannot agree. I'd be moving on Spargo, Laurie, Fullerton, Billings, McAdam (pay him out), Petty (nothing about his game playing as a forward him a threat), Melksham and McDonald (if they want to retire, and any other lost cloggers you can think of. I also think the club needs to tell players like Viney and Frac their midfield minutes are reducing to bring through the new wave. Don't like it then thanks and enjoy your new club. Finally, chuck in Tim Lamb for his rediculous contracts and Alan Richardson (feels like a cheerleader).

Goalkicking
I knew our goalkicking had been bad, but not for this long, and it has virtually ruined the last 3 1/2 years' chance of success. Click thumbnail for video.

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
Fritsch needs to be told it's not 2021 anymore and no free rides. Jefferson I am hoping so hard he makes it as I don't want to see another draft pick chewed up by a key forward. He isn't ready. I'd try JVR back as her has got talent and I feel he is taking on the pressure of trying to be the great white hope too hard. Needs to be freed up. I would try Adams or Sestan. Surly one of this crop need to debut otherwise they will be out the door to another club. They two big questions are: 1) why the last quarter fadeouts every week and 2) how can this club continue to turn it's head to an issue which has gone on for four years in the poor delivery into forward 50. I really hope the new CEO and Pres get a proper external review completed.

My 3 word player analysis V WC
Tholstrop reminds me of a Chandler 2.0. A little rough in the early stages and was up and down both in form and the main team. Another pre-season and consistent game time has allowed him to flourish. This forum lacks patience with the young kids.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
I am sick of the JVR bashing on this forum. You try performing in a.forward line that bombs it on top of your head week after week, and being coached by a backman who teaches him no forward craft. Don't be surprised if the way he is playing IS due to the way he has been instructed to play.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
How did we win a flag with most of this group? I am convinced the game has passed Goodwin, Richardson, Williams, and Selwin Griffiths. The team has gone backwards at a rate of knots and there is not one glimmer of hope in sight. It's time to cut the head off the snake and get whatever draftpicks we can at the end of the season. This has been a pathetic effort.
-
Tom Fullarton
Just get a damn forwards coach who was an ACTUAL FORWARD to teach JVR the craft. Chaplin is not the answer as he will show how to defend as a forward but not how to play like one.

Tom Fullarton
Thank goodness there isn't a mid season trade period. Half the squad would request to leave due to not being a Goodwin 'favorite'.

Time to go Goody?
Take the emotion out of it and look at it from a pre and post premiership perspective. It has been chalk and cheese how different his and his support staff performance has been. It isn't only Goody; I'd start asking what Richardson and Lamb have done since the flag. Bad contract extensions, no big fish signed, player and coaching development stalled and onfield performance gone backwards.

Time to go Goody?
Only twelve months.

New coach prospects
Only have to pay out 12 months.

Time to go Goody?
No way. Game moves past him as well. Need a young buck who no-one will mess with and commands respect like C. Scott, Mitchell, Kingsley

Game plans, tactics and all that jazz
Is there any chance we could sit back and look at everything that happened yesterday in totality? Six new faces, a refreshed gameplan, playing a team that is predicted to be a premiership threat who had a week of match fitness under them, we led for most of the day, and lost in the last 90 seconds with a play that reminded me of the 1987 Prelim Final. We can look at all the negatives but there are plenty of positives to come out of it. This week will be better suited to what we want to achieve through faster ball movement on a slick deck under a roof. Remember, in over 129 years no-one has won the Grand Final in March!
