Both Reid and Duursma very impressive given it’s a big step up at their current age

Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache
The compete hard and help pressure the opposition when they have the ball is his Achilles IMO - hopefully he can improve in that area and perform well He should realise its now or never

He missed the first half of last season too - shame because at his best probably our best ball user from HB

Steven May One on One
That's a pretty interesting and I think quite accurate assessment. Agree that his ground ball skills can be iffy but so too are his short kicks over say 25 to 35 metres where he seems to struggle to hit the target or kick to advantage. This is a confidence thing IMO. Our coaches would be well aware that opposition teams will to look to take marks 30 to 50 metres out from goal on leads - nobody will continue to bomb long to the square because that's our strength. I'm not sure what instructions are given to the wingers re defensive structure, but I think they need to play a big role in crowding that space just inside D50 so that its difficult for opposition forwards and mids to get uncontested marks.

Tells you something about the form of the blokes at Casey last week that might be his replacement in F50. Don't look at his contribution as just goals scored - yes that's obviously one of his main KPIs as a forward and I still think he will have games soon where he kicks multiple goals - this week could be one of those. What he is much better at than (BB & Schache) is competing strongly in the air stopping opposition intercept marks and chasing when the ball hits the ground I wish we had two Petty's so one could play back but we don't. May is in very poor form IMO - if he was flying, we probably wouldn't even have to think about Petty going back

Does Kade make the grade, or will it be Chandlermonium
Finally getting some reward for effort - hope he can continue with his form and become an even better player

My 3 word player analysis V Richmond
Agree, but check your word count 😀

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
I watched the game yesterday and Collingwood struggled with Essendon run and carry game for 3 Quarters I was surprised how efficient the bummers were in terms of their disposal and their ability to block Collingwood running through the midfield - their main weapon Last quarter pies went full pressure and the bummers wilted terribly and the dam wall burst Pressure on the ball carrier wins most games - our problem is we seem to struggle to present that every quarter and every game. Our disposal not only in terms of decision making but also effectiveness is also below what it should be atm - hopefully that can change. Lost count in our game against tigers the number of 1. dumb 2 metre handballs that achieved nothing 2. dumb high bombs out of trouble and into more trouble My sense watching at times was the players just wanted to get rid of the ball and let someone else have the problem of finding a target Maybe it’s a lack of confidence because when we are playing well that isn’t what I see

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
People calling for BB to be promoted to push Petty back again are delusional Petty competes both on the ground and in the air - until TMac or BB start to show some strong form at Casey we have no choice but to leave Petty up forward if we want another tall back Disco Turner is playing well and could be an option

AFL Rules - pulling the ball under
I'd have more trouble explaining that a clear throw equates to a legitimate handpass - still a mystery how many of these happen when there are 4 umpires on the ground

CASEY: Rd 05 vs Richmond
They are really missing both Mitch White and the Moose atm

CASEY: Rd 05 vs Richmond
Agree with that assessment. I am getting a little concerned about Jefferson’s lack of intensity I realise he’s not Tom Hawkins but I would like to see some more marks at this level. I think my fear is that he could be the second coming of The Weed. Having BB and TMac in the F50 didn’t help yesterday I guess. The only ones you could really consider for promotion after that game were Disco, Harmes and Dunstan. Not giving up on young fellas as we have seen the likes of McVee turn it around fast. Still a lot of improvement required from the others including Howes and Woey before they get a call up.

Collingwood forward Ash Johnson
Not sure what that means ? I know Will Verrall hasn't got going yet but I still think he has plenty to offer in the role of tall who can ruck and play a bit forward. I'm hoping he can show some real promise in the second half of the year at Casey.

Collingwood forward Ash Johnson
No doubt they will but I'd still hope we are in his ear. Think we wanted to keep LJ too, but we all know what happened there - and yes, I know there were different factors at play with LJ.
