  1. Clearly they were hoping for Clarko because they moved immediately his manager said he was having a year off. Why did they think he would go to them anyway,?.he's just finished having to put up with Kennett....any other club would be more enticing than Carlton. Delusional beyond conventional imagination
  2. If you rely on Fritsch youre in trouble
  3. And exactly as I "guessed " Including leaving Lever free to intercept. So much for pompous analysis from the cheap seats Lol
  4. Thanks for that Methinks these tricks must be the one that the coach has had up his sleeve for 6 seasons because thus far he's been a one trick pony
  5. No, that's as far as my guess work goes beyond factoring in Lever intercepting and Max stopping as crucial
  6. Petty on Hawkins? Smith will play on Rohan And May will take Hawkins
  7. True ....but surely he's a better medi sub than VDB
  8. I have a mate in Brisvegas who says NRL is the national football code. He goes ballistic when I list the 2 AFL teams in 4 States plus the Victorian teams with each State having Premiership Teams and listing the weekly attendance numbers, let alone Finals It's quite silly, a little sad and if AFL went to Tasmania I fear his head would explode. Just like Gils eyeballs looked like they might burst when he heard the Tassie Premiers funding threat.
  9. It's not as if he hadn't had a good run at it. I can see why he might stay ,but do we need a VFL level depth player?
  10. I am going against my habitual doubts and suggesting it could be a backline that other teams supporters remember in 5 years time!
  11. Boom boom I won't even correct it
  12. Jetty was my favourite when he had to bash his body to pieces going 3rd in against the big forwards who were likely to kick 10 against Oscar. It's a pity his day has passed. I figure Hibberd won't be part of the back 6 for the ages either. Hunt can have a number of roles ,given he is one of the few genuine quicks in the 22. But there is still room for a long term champion lock down back.
  13. Nah, a MFC Captain should have a monocle and moustache. Lever is the man for the job.
  14. Hunt isn't in that stratosphere. They could that good for a threepeat. We've already forgotten Jetta? I don't know about Bowey yet
  15. He has come good after a shake start. May,Lever,Rivers , Petty ,Salem..just need one more with run and with a bit of muscle on Trent and its a backline we will remember.
  16. That's a job for RDB and it will likely be the last chance for him as well so we better win. Maybe Jones could walk him out to the dais

I wouldn't like to meet Richmond or Sydney in week one, even if I think they'd be long shots to go all the way

Not half as good a story as Nathan Jone's though.
  19. There's always BT ,he says he's an expert

Yeah, but Harmes( and Melksham) have demonstrated their worth over the journey. How long ago is it ,if ever, that Vanders has done so? Harmes and Melksham don't get in the way if they are playing a bad game. VDB doesn't have a good game any more if he ever did..His body has never let him. I only mentioned Jones , who I acknowledged was also off the pace to emphasise the futility of persevering with Vandenberg. Don't get me started on Weideman but Vander's aggression and Spargos game brain on Weids skills base would be an AFL grade player. Otherwise, if picked, they are the bottom 3 that defines the teams likelihood to win the flag Jones might be only best 24 but he's not an impediment the way VDB is .

When was the last time Vanders WAS great? He turns " run" into sludge and his disposal is 2 seasons old. But yeah ,Viney will come back in to run headlong onto ever pack he sees and Sparrow and Jordan are ahead of Jones.

    Sparrow played last night

Fair dinkum Vanders is a lumbering liability and still has the skill and decision making deficit of the earlier Goodwin Demons iteration. Someone said yesterday the game has passed him by. I said the same thing about Jones after the Finals win at the G in ...( whenever it was;who can tell these days?) against Hawthorn ,but seriously does anyone not think he would be a better inclusion than the frustration that is Vanders. He can stop any fluid ball movement without even trying But Nathan Jones? A red hot go (firstly as the medical sub), he can kick a goal and he would give it full throttle like no other player on the list to get a shot at the flag in his last game. It wouldn't even be sentimental (unless he holds the Cup), just a smart move

I saw Jones having a long friendly exchange with Selwood post siren. You guys need to grow up
