  1. Hopefully you mean Spargo and he does. Smart player..trade bait
  2. Melk is hardly more unreliable than most of the 22 and remains one player who understands that kicks can go high to a pack or low and penetrating towards a target which is a good plan if you are passing it through contested space. I'm surprised few others seem to have noticed
  3. A bit tough on Melksham but that is the group think around here. You're correct about BBB and TMac though
  4. Nope ,completely different way of influence. I am not comparing quality
  5. Cameron ,Dusty and Toby only need three kicks to turn or complete a game.
  6. That's what was said at the end of last season. Goodwin is patient ( for better or worse)
  7. The run home's pretty simple Positions don't really matter much in a season of team equality and upsets; We could mount a case for any two reaching the G/F, but more than ever the team fielding closest to best 22 or carrying fewer injuries will win. In Melbourne's case of course the umpires are likely to be the difference .
  8. Arnt we all and, it appears, not the least Kossi himself . He flies for pack marks even when he's not in contention to come soaring over the top,the result bring he isn't at the drop of the ball. Sometimes it also seems he habitually plays for the contested ball capture, the weave, duck and dodge.....goal!! ..rather than the drop of the ball and running clear and delivering .
  9. Kossi likes doing difficult flashy stuff
  10. Setting up for " robbed by the umpires" already ?
  11. Dumbest "best mids" in history when you think about it.
  12. It's also how you beat the Dee's...everyone knows it
  13. But apparently he's coaching against the "3rd greatest MFC coach in history" who clearly has a cunning plan like the last one. " Don't try until half time boys and they will relax, then we can run all over them"
  14. Who would have thought ...???
  15. This is the laugh track ,right?
  16. Putting Goodwin there is so delusional that no one should comment. So I wont
  17. Spargo has good disposal and decision making skill but it's nowhere near elite ffs
  18. So it was the rain on Saturday that meant they couldn't be bothered shifting into top gear for a game that would have established 2nd place with a modicum of security? That's weird imo
  19. Of course it's been overstated. Haven't you been watching? Guaranteed to lose the ones they could/ should win to secure their position . Goodwins Dee's
  20. If they had won yesterday they probably would lose to the Hawks next week. Straight sets coming up again It's the AFL ' s fault
  21. I don't know what game people were watching last night but I was there and with or without Daicos the bazball game the Pies play is dangerous. Add Sidebottom and its very dangerous...they run ,they spread, they go boundary or not if required ,they HIT TARGETS and the frequency with which they have one or two loose in the forward line is extraordinary and no coincidence Both the Cats and the Pies have marking skill and the Pies have players at the drop of the ball at all times without the need of miracle goals that Kossi sometimes provides. But the Cats played traditional like the Ashes Aussies without Lyon ,while Cameron nearly won it. Add Hawkins and it might have been game over! The Pies backline is vulnerable to a marking forward and Salem and Rivers are more important than May and Lever if the Dee's need time in the forward half to win without Petty. Better win this arvo...
  22. Two things come to mind reading these discussions and watching games. Why do AFL players( MFC) lack the full repertoire of kicking skills ..long,short,low or elevated and accurate, deployed according to need and how difficult is it to mark a ball when in the primarily advantaged ,balanced position? Getting fit, knowing the rules and game plans seem to be achievable but the first two I mentioned are surely the basic selection criteria for the job and " soft" hands vs " hard" hands appear to be a learnable skill for a professional sportsman. Petty can catch the ball ..big tick
  23. Yep it's not rocket science reality is it? And " we" like to think we are the intelligent supporters
