PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
TMc should be given some leeway for last week after Draper took a running leap from 10-15 mts away and kneed him in the back. And if Brown isn't fit enough then we have little choice but to play TMc...I'm not sure Schache is the answer. Just hope TMc's back has recovered and does not affect his mobility. BTW, Draper is turning into a thug. He was the ruckman that crunched Grundy's knee last year with a resultant PCL injury.

What they area saying at Punt Road
Not a lot so far; probably because the game isn't until Monday. From Various fan websites: Druggos showing how to beat Melbourne is to tag Oliver…Nothing surer than Oliver running around by himself collecting 40 next week Just what we need, an angry, fired up Melbourne on the rebound... I'd like to think that we will also be angry and fired up after last night's insipid effort. We will tag ben Brown and he'll kick 7 Don't worry Dees supporters. We'll play you into form next round. Oliver had 41 lol… Hahaha I saw that, couldn’t believe it. Must’ve been 41 of the most useless posies eve All rubbish. Threw it about 5 times too not called Got to realize we are in a sneaky rebuild mode whilst bluffing our way to this year's Finals... See which side Max is going and tell Miller to b-line it to the other side, no way Max keeps up with Miller. Can't let him sit behind play, have to play him smart or physical. I don't wanna see at half time they're 40 points up and Prestia, Hopper and Taranto have been smashed in clearances, whilst Oliver and Petracca have already racked up 25 possies and 5 clearances each. Put some body work on them and make them bloody earn their kicks. Our backline is miles away from our best lineup but realistically their fwd's are pus. Young/ Van Rooyen is a good matchup. Grimes/ Fritch should work. I’d take a Ben Brown right now as much as I hate saying that whatever Dimma comes up with will need to be a master stroke. We’ve never matched up well on the cheese platters in recent times. In: Effort Out: Turnovers Our biggest issue is if Fists of Fury Lever plays. With no Lynch and our bombs inside 50, Lever will think he is at a Las Vegas buffet racking up intercept marks. I will refrain on commenting on Richmond’s odds of winning this game until the umpires are named Demons supporters don’t go to any games do they? The corrupt AFL are yet to relocate the MCG, slab by slab, to Mt Buller. So no. Honestly don’t understand why more Melbourne fans don’t follow suit of Max Gawn their captain and be Richmond supporters Dees to play a bunch of players out of position. For instance Jake Melksham on the field. Haha yeah I was happy with it. He'll prob have 5 touches and kick 3 goals now. We were rubbish even before nankervis, lynch, Broad and Graham got injured. Not Favourite This made me laugh for its ignorance of Dimmer being a thug: No probs with playing on the edge but Dimma never condoned poor discipline This made me angry: tell Miller to sit in behind Max all game and jump into his back as often as he can.

The No T$ No B$ Thread
I'm surprised the sports science staff thought it was a good idea to catch the red eye knowing there was a flight/game to Adelaide a few days later. Sometimes they and coaches should do what is best for the club rather than the players. While acknowledging players want to get home to families etc I doubt half a day makes a lot of difference in most cases.

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
I didn't get the impression from Goodwin's post game press conf that Gawn was a lock vs Tigers. He said Max was progressing well and mentioned other players recovering, saying most of them should be right to play next week. Then a bit more chat and he added (not verbatim '...we are looking forward to getting Max back...' It sounded open ended.

POSTGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Something to remember about both the Lions and Ess games is that half way through the last quarter we were nearly 7 goals down in both games. We whitled that down to 2 goals vs Lions and 4 goals vs Ess by the end. Folks could say the opp relaxed etc Sure, but we were good enough and energised enough to take advantage of any lapse just as they exploited our weakness. That we were able to fight back and gain momentum is a big positive out of both losses. The losses shouldn't lead to worsening MFCSS.

Suburban AFL map
No, I didn't. Well not yet. Completed a 'Driver Unknown' form adding the Police report reference #. Hopefully, that is enough to cancel them. The bright side: collected a new car on Friday. Still miss the old one...

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
Sure any team can win on any given day. But have a look at their injury list and the deficiencies in available team that I listed. Seriously, they are a rabble. If we lose this, it won't be easy to be top 4 which is where we need to be to be in contention. My mood is very bright, thank you!

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
Richmond are a rabble. They barely have a fwd line have no ruck division and a disconnected midfield. Dusty, Cotchin and Reiwoldt are passed it. Grimes not far behind. They will resort to rough and nasty tactics as they did last year, mirroring their coach's style. If we can't beat them then we do not deserve to be in contention.

NON-MFC: Rd 05 2023
Dangerfield pushing his thumb into Gibney's eye was as blatant and as deliberate as it gets. Dog act on a kid who has played 4 games.

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
It worries me if we rush Max in. Just last week Goodwin said he was at least a month away and we wouldn't take any chances. We are playing Richmond and they have some key experienced outs: Lynch, Nankervis, Broad, Soldo, Graham so match-ups may drive selections. Out: Spargo (Concussion), TMc (back/rib injury???), Tomlinson (Form) In: Laurie, Brown, Lever Melksham probably out but don't know who we would bring in for him. Jordon but he is not a fwd... There are others that should probably be out if injured or out of form but doubt we can or will make too many changes. And no one should be dropped on one poor game.
