  1. Is it really? I know that we use AFL technology but I thought we had our own staff...
  2. 3 of the 5 were in the last quarter. We had no Lever that day. At the other end we no Brown or McDonald. Nonetheless, we had them at 3/4 time but like many other games last year we faded in the last. UH won't get 5 again this week.
  3. Yeah, interesting especially as Emma Grant is using the same law firm as the class action. I wonder if their cases are more clear cut in that they can identify relatively recent, specific instances and there is video footage of the events, at a time when AFL had protocols in place with a lot more documentation happening.
  4. Why reference AFLW? It shouldn't matter if it is a male or female that has been concussed. No need to wait 20 years for an AFLW player to go to court on this: re-read the article in the op. The lawyers wouldn't go to court or even hope for an out of court settlement if they didn't have a reasonable case and evidence. Judges don't like having their time wasted. The injuries are a lot more than headaches or mood swings and there needs to be losses resulting from those injuries to get compensation.
  5. They will be terribly undermanned not just from those injuries but also from some of the players being talked up (Darcy, U-H) very inexperienced in age or others in their role: Lobb, Bruce etc. Having to now juggle the pieces will add to the already significant challenge of synergy and cohesion from the list and role changes. Cannot see them winning this.
  6. Not too sure. I'm no lawyer but I would think the 'injured' has to 1) show cause and effect between the events and the injury, 2) there was negligence on the part of the accused and 3) that the injury caused or will cause quantifiable losses. There may be other criteria that come into play... Not sure what the level of proof is for those three things (and any other criteria) but I would think it has to be reasonably substantial. Should be an interesting test case.
  7. Oh, I see. You thought I wanted Freo to slide to get a better/top draft pick. No, unlike many others, it isn't the reason...as I mentioned it is mostly that I don't like that club. My reasons aside, I agree with you that getting a better pick doesn't mean a better/more successful player. Last year's trade is a great example of this: 3 top 10 picks from the 2015 draft were traded for 3rd/4th round picks which weren't meaningfully used.
  8. Moreso if Weightman doesn't play who apparently hasn't trained much lately. At ground level they will be relying on ex-demons: Hannan and Baker (if he plays), Smith and not sure who else of any note. But they need Smith to do more in the midfield and or the wing but he can't do it all.
  9. For various reasons (mostly I don't like the club) I hope they slide but doubt they will slide too far. They may start 5-0 but then have a difficult draw. I wouldn't underestimate GCS (who beat them last year) and Adelaide who are my smokey to rise up the ladder. In the meantime it is good fun to wish and hope they slide...
  10. Saints are heading for bottom four. Freo should get a huge % boost. A so-so win won't say much for their credentials this year.
  11. You are correct, od. Card will get you in. It was one of the concessions the AFL made to fan feedback.
  12. No. Hocking went from Geelong (GM Football) to AFL HQ (GM Football) and recently back to Geelong (CEO) and the player perks continue...
  13. I haven't watched O'meara's career very much. I don't put a lot of store in stats but he has the same average clearances as Tom Mitchell and Jack Viney. Does well on contested possessions comparisons with them. He has generally been seen as an inside midfielder. Certainly, Freo are looking for O'Meara to play that inside role and use his leadership skills and experience as Mundy did especially when Fyfe wan't there. Whether he succeeds they will find out soon enough but it is not a new role for him. He may not be seen as 'elite' like Petracca, Oliver, Neale, Fyfe etc but he is certainly well above average. There midfield will still be strong. Having said that I still expect them to slide (hopefully out of the 8) as I see cohesion and synergy a real challenge for them with all the list and positional changes.
  14. GA tickets can be purchased at the gate unless the game is sold out. However, not sure cash is accepted.
  15. Hmmm. Doesn't look right. When it is working you should see your info on that screen. If it is a GA membership it will have a fictitious seat number. 72 hours before the game the barcode should appear on this screen. I suggest ringing the club, better early in the week as later in the week they will be busy with everyone tracking down barcodes. Cheers.
  16. Not sure about the A+. There have been a few players that have come and gone (excl retirements) in the last 10 years...
  17. Mitchell did most of the heavy lifting at the Hawks. With Mundy gone and Fyfe in the fwd line, O'Meara will be doing a lot more of the heavy lifting at Freo. While excellent players most of the other midfields are still very young and O'Meara can 'protect' them a bit as Mundy did.
  18. @AzzKikA On the same screen as yours above, I see '1 ticket' in the bottom left corner of the first game. When I tap it the next screen shows my membership and seating details. I am a 'Redleg' members so may be different to yours. I notice your screen doesn't show '1 Ticket' in the bottom left corner. What do you see when you tap on the first game?
  19. Not sure where this is? Do you have a link? It could be your info hasn't been loaded into the main system yet. If you ordered a card it may take a while for that to be printed and mailed. That aside, you may need to go back a few steps: Have you download the mfc app? If not do so, see: https://www.melbournefc.com.au/app . If you have, log in via the app and see what appears. There are a few more steps but will wait until you try the above. No need to panic there is an mfc membership window between gates 3 and 4 on game day to help people with this stuff.
  20. You don't have to reserve a seat. If an mfc GA member or you buy a GA ticket at the gate you can sit in any unreserved part of the ground. If you are an mfc GA member you can upgrade to a reserved seat for a small fee. This is really only necessary when it is a big game or the GA seating is not to your liking. Even Anzac EVe doesn't sell out so GA entry is likely to be in the top tier which suits some people.
  21. Originally it was 72 hours before the game but some weeks it seemed to be more like 48 hours beforehand. It may depend on start time but not sure.
  22. i wasn't at all suggesting that O'Meare emulate Mundy or Mundy's achievments. I was talking about game day roles. O'Meara is an inside player and extractor as Mundy was and that is what Freo will expect of hiim.
  23. As far as I know it is either membership card (reinstated by AFL this year, I think) or barcode on mobie app as last year. Other posters might be able to clarify further.
  24. @Demonland I noticed there is a new Forum for Training reports. Have I just not been observant or is this a new Fortum? Just not too sure in which Forum to look for new training reports. Thanks.
