  1. The article says: "Under the Kangaroos’ offer, they were getting extra value equivalent to pick 23, while under the Demons’ offer (if they were to finish fourth again next year), they were getting extra value equivalent to pick 8." Our offer differential is better than equivalent pick 8 when the full trade value of 11 is factored in. Fully trust JT et al but...
  2. Andy, I see that you have special rights when calling someone an idiiot and able to bypass the censor... I guess I should be grateful you let me off the hook, this time....🙄 Edit: LOL the censor even works in quoted posts!!! But only for the singular!!!
  3. I would prefer we keep 6 and use 11, 42 and F1 to get another top 10 pick and get two top 10 players than go all out for Reid. GWS's pick 7 would be a good target (+/- other picks) as they also have 16 so a decent hand to swap or take to the draft.
  4. An [censored] to have Oliver at #30 for 2024!!! Ok 2023 has been a bad year for him but scribes write him off at their peril and have massive egg on face next year!! Edit: Seriously!!! Idiiot is censored!!! What is the world coming to!!! I'm putting in this edit just in case readers think I used a really bad word...
  5. The way things look right now I'll be happy to just win a final!! But I'm sure that by the time the season starts I'll be expecting and believing in a demon flag!
  6. I was thinking he would go in the 25 to 30 range but yeah maybe higher now. Have WCE 'snookered' themselves? They take Reid with pick 1 and probably miss out on both Curtin and Collard. Or they cash in pick 1 with North for 2 or 3 (Curtin) and a late 1st round (Collard) and possibly pay overs for both. Or take our offer and risk missing Curtin at pick 6 and maybe missing Collard as well. WCE will need to do some nifty pick trading with more than one club if they hope to get both players.
  7. Especially when pick 11 cost us 14, 27 and 35 generally thought as us paying overs. So the offer is really 6, 14, 27, 35, 42 and F1 ie 3 first round picks plus 3 second round picks Crazy stuff!!
  8. This will make WCE decision on picks for ND1 interesting. 2023-lance-collard-fremantle-west-coast-eagles "Fremantle has interest in exciting WA forward prospect Lance Collard, to the point where West Coast is considering trading ahead of the Dockers to ensure it still lands its Next Generation... ...Collard, who grew up a Fremantle supporter, is tied to the Eagles via their Next Generation Academy. Yet West Coast can only match a bid on him if it lands outside the top 40 picks — and it now seems highly unlikely Collard will slip past the top 40. The Dockers hold Picks 34, 46. 60, 64 and 81 in this year‘s draft, while the Eagles have Picks 1, 23, 37, 58 and 85" How far ahead of Freo will WCE have to jump to get Collard, especially as Freo have a fist full of extra 2024 first round picks they can use to keep leap frogging WCE? We don't have a pick in the 25 to 30 range to offer WCE as part of an ND 1 package We could get one via another club but it is getting harder to see how we can get ND1. WCE might now be interested in one or more of those late first round picks North previously offered.
  9. That is all correct. As long as we don't exceed 42 in total and stay within the category limits it is fine. In recent years we have maxed out the A rookie spots as part of their $ is excluded from the TPP. Given that this year we seem to have a bit of TPP capacity that could change.
  10. That is great! Thank you. I'will change those details with the next update.
  11. I do too being of Italian heritage but not sure most on DL would...
  12. That word connected in even the slightest way to BBO is very scary so I would advise my friend WCW to stay well away!!
  13. Not sure Turner going changes a lot. But I agree Melksham will go onto the A rookie list. Whether we stay with 36 and 6 or go to 37 and 5 will depend on Brown (see post above this one). Still al lot of options, eh? Will be interesting to watch.
  14. That rule applies to NGA draftees but not F/S. And we don't have a B rookie list spot as AM-W has been given another year as a B rookie. If Brown nominates us and he is bid on we will match the bid with a late pick. If not bid on my guess is he joins us for preseason training and we take him as an A rookie in the SSP draft but I'm not too sure of those rules.
  15. Updated for K Turner delisting and on @Dannyz info that AMW has had a contract extension. I've taken the contract terms for our new recruits from 'footywire' as they are fairly reliable. If anyone gets more up to date info please advise. Billings and McAdam: OOC 2025 Fullarton: OOC 2004...I'm a bit surprised that he came on just a one year contract so one to double check... Now only Melksham uncontracted.
  16. All a bit of fun! Your best gif ever!! Would you care to describe each of those gestures...not sure everyone can translate...
  17. That is mean!! And earnt my first ever 🤮 reaction to a post!!
  18. Can’t let that one pass, Jontee. I feel compelled to defend the honour of my childhood and teenage stomping ground! I haven’t been to Merimbula and its been decades since going to Lakes Entrance. But other than a nice beach they just don’t compare to the Mordi beach precinct at that time. My memories: A real Carnival; a mini Luna Park with a Ghost Train but sans the Big Dipper The ‘Dodgems’ were the best rides!! Always did love driving cars fast! The Shindig dance on Sunday nights. Johhny Farhnam and the Strings Unlimited performed there occasionally. Fishing off the Mordi pier if one was so inclined. Parents buying fresh fish straight from the sea from Mrs Pompeii’s gate at the Mordi Bridge; it was an illicit business I believe. Apparently the gate is still there. Just about the best and cleanest stretch of beach on Port Phillip Bay being north of the Mordi Creek. Trapezing up the Mordi creek to pick blackberries and catch tadpoles. All in all the beach precinct was an idyllic place to spend one’s childhood and teenage years. And in latter years a refuge in times of trouble,
  19. Is that why you didn't use the @ jaded feature... You are probably safe as she rarely ventures into this thread
  20. And that is probably the nicest thing you have ever said about him!!
  21. You are a brave man calling @WalkingCivilWar a smart [censored]. I note she has yet to post a retort. Perhaps you have succeeded a never before achieved feat: making her speechless or she is dreaming up a doozie of a response. Methinks the latter!!
  22. Re my third option: split for a later pick to get Brown and a future pick. That was before Lamb said we would take two picks to the draft. Agree there is not enough room for that option unless upgrading 6 and 11. It all suggests ND42 will be traded out or split at some stage. We will know more in the next few weeks if Brown nominates mfc which he would only do if we agreed to take him at some stage or the ND/Rookie process. Edit: just checked the F/S nomination end date is Oct 31.
  23. The footnotes show the contract term is only assumed at this stage. When the detail becomes available I will update the table.
