NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
Many Coll players were there for the 2018 GF. They will be fired up if they make the GF...make amends for that loss from that freak goal... ...the 'colliwobbles' got them again!! 😉

TICKETING: 2023 Finals Week 01
So many ideas floating around...I can't keep up!🙂 The bit I quoted appeared to be about the recent $30. As an aside. it will be interesting to see the feedback tomorrow on what priority Ticketek actually gives premium members... ...last year the Ticketek filter didn't seem to work...

Quoted to emphasise the point. Last year I found theTablet was faster than the laptop every time even tho I logged in with the laptop first. Guess there isn't much point even logging in before 10.00.

Thanks for the correction. Ticketek didn't seem to work that way last year. Looks like the system has been update.

TICKETING: 2023 Finals Week 01
At the time I wrote I thought the Saints/GWS game would be at Marvel which is a Ticketmaster venue. It makes more sense to have that game at Marvel: low membership club playing a club with no members!! But for some reason the AFL has decided it is at the G...

TICKETING: 2023 Finals Week 01
I am pretty sure this applies only to the GF and not weeks 1-3.

TICKETING: 2023 Finals Week 01
iirc that 2 hour window was prior to tickets being sold to non-members or to the public. Even that was a disaster last year as any member could purchase 10 tickets on one membership even though those people weren't members.

Priority access for these memberships simply means BEFORE NON MEMBERS.

TICKETING: 2023 Finals Week 01
While Ticketek nominally assign Bays for the two clubs I don't think it is sophisticated enough to ensure the numbers are 50/50. My impression last year was first in, best dressed. Regarding the Ticketek 'premium' member option the computer didn't always deliver premium seats nor priority access. The seat allocation seemed to be on price category rather than membership status. Anyone could choose the highest priced tickets. Generally, the computer seemed to allocate tickets (by price category) in a Bay until it was full then allocated tickets in the next available Bay. Sometimes there were Bays with fans from both clubs but you don't know this until you get to the game. Once the MCC, AFL and other group's seats are considered the allocation for club members will be relatively small. Hopefully the tickets for Carlton/Sydney go on sale on the Wednesday to avoid a total meltdown. The other games' tickets will be sold by Ticketmaster. @Fear the beard will probably know more.

2023 List and Contract Details
As a B rookie he should be. Not sure where 'The Age' sourced its info or how accurate it is. Even tho' I changed Schache to be OOC this year I'm not sure that is correct as there was info during the year that it was 2024. 2024 makes more sense as it is unlikely he would have come across for just one year but we will see soon.

No...l was fiddling with who might be off our list at the latest next year. Forgot to remove the shading before posting. I'll put it down to jet lag😉

NON-MFC: Rd 24 2023
I reckon if we play Lions in a QF at the Gabba we win! We have an excellent record there. The only reason we lost in round 2 is because May didn't play and Gawn went down in the first 5 minutes and we didn't adjust fast enough. Mcvee was in his second game and Petty had a shocker. Lever was a loner ranger down back. Today's game showed how flaky they are at the Gabba!

I've only been back less than 48 hours so I may be missing something as to why Coll is seen to be an easier QF than Port or Lions. I noticed they lost a few games recently but they will have Moore, Murphy and McCleery back. They rested Elliot for half the game last night, Sidebottom played in 2nd gear and everyone will have two days extra rest than us. If we play Coll and lose we are facing a game each week to the GF and an away PF. I'd rather an away QF than an away PF. Now that the Lions have won, I'm hoping for a Port loss tomorrow.

Maybe North have been told that if they have ND1 they won't get ND2 for McKay and they have decided to not tank and will end up with ND2 and ND3 as well as Sanders who is a top 10 draftee.

PREGAME: Rd 24 vs Sydney
Not a written one but it has been the practice in the last few years where the AFL 'consults' the top team eg In 2021 we had the choice of where to play the QF - part of the privilege of finishing top. We chose AO even tho the next game would be in Perth and may have reduced travel time. If we have a concussion we may be able to lobby the AFL for a Fri or Sat night game. Coll will choose what is best for them and their members so I'm hoping we don't finish 4th. I would rather an away QF where we have a better chance of winning than an away PF where we start behind the 8 ball with a short 'bye' pre the QF and weekly games thereafter.

PREGAME: Rd 24 vs Sydney
A concussion isn't necessarily the main issue. I was hoping we didn't play Syd on a Sunday. When I saw the round 24 fixture I thought it would hurt us as our most likely opp (Coll) would get an extra two days rest and they would always choose the Thrusday night to drive home that advantage greatly reducing our chances of winning the QF. So I'm hoping that Lions or Port lose this weekend giving a fairer break for both teams especially vs Port. I have no fear of playing at the Gabba or AO and winning!!

What they are saying at Arden Street
Ok. Time for teams and football so I'll take my leave of this thread and DL for the rest of my holiday. Folks get the decor out to paint the town red and blue as our 14th flag beckons!!
