  1. Umm...quizzes without answers are not allowed...!!!๐Ÿ™„
  2. My thoughts on the above post in blue ...we've got lost lodgement deadlines on Tuesday 31 at 2pm and again before the draft on 14 Nov. Correct Do you know if the club needs to declare it's list make up (i.e. 36/6 or 37/5) at one of those list lodgements? Or are we free to go the draft do our thing as long as the outcome fits within the rules? No need to declare the Seniors/A rookie mix. It will be known after the draft. If it's the former, then I suspect the club are playing it like this: - the club is going to wait and see what happens on draft night. Agreed. - if we can get Brown as a Rookie (ie no one else bids) then we'll do that. I haven't seen anything that says we will take Brown. F/S nominations close tomorrow so we should know then. That nothing has been reported suggests we may not or else just poor info from AFL who publish the lists. - if a bid comes 56 or later, I think that thanks to the 20% points discount, he can match for free - presuming we have a list spot left. We still need to use a draft pick but it could be 93, which will come in to about pick 60 after the other Academy and F/S bids have been matched and clubs pass on picks over 50. That is what happened to get Woewoden. Yes we still need a list spot. -if our draft hand stays exactly as it is, and we can manage any other trades, it will depend on whether we rate Brown at 42 or would prefer someone else. But based on Tim Lambs comments. I can't see us using 42 as well as 6 and 11, unless it's for Brown. I can't see us taking Brown at 42. With relatively flat second round talent 42 is a valuable pick. I reckon It will be used in a pick upgrade (into top 10), pick swap or cashed in for 2024 picks. - So my guess is that strategy around selection otherwise (ie before pick 56) will depend on any trades we were able to make to improve our top picks, and whether they give us any pick in the 50s or 60s back that will enable us to match a bid. Agreed. - In short: we'll take him if we can, but we aren't stock piling assets for him, we are trying to get the best top end talent. Agreed....I'm not seeing intent to create a list spot for him but as you suggest we can go from a mix of 36/6 to 37/5.
  3. 5. 66 Books in the Bible 9. 39 Books in the Old Testament 11. 90 Degrees in a Right Angle 22. 27 books in the New Testament @leave it to deever Which ones are still unsolved?
  4. 8. 18 Holes on a Golf Course 13. 32 The Fahrenheit temperature at which water freezes 14. 15 Players in a Rugby Team (Union) 15. 100 Cents in a Dollar 17. 11 Players in a Soccer Team 23. 365 Days in a Year 25. 52 Weeks in a Year 27. 60 Minutes in an Hour 32. 1000 Years in a Millenium 42. 3600 Seconds in Hour
  5. Sure Pies can win the next 2 and we lose next week but they would have a huge % to make up and I reckon that is most unlikely.
  6. With the Saints win we finish top of the McClelland ladder and get the $1million!! We can lose top spot on the H&A ladder depending on how the WCE and MFC games play out tomorrow and next week. Hopefully, we are the Minor Premiers which puts us in the box seat for a Home GF!!
  7. Thanks. Got it. A few more: 4: 12 Signs of the Zodiac! 6: 52 Cards in a Pack 18: 12 Months in the Year I'm happy now! ๐Ÿ™ƒ I can solve quite a few others but how does the list help in the 'War of Words' duel?
  8. Lets hope North either beat the Crows tomorrow or drag their % down to mae it difficult for them to pas us on % next week ... of course we need to beat the Lions which I think we will. It will be a tragedy if we lose top spot and rights for a Home GF on %...
  9. At the risk of being thought of as 'slow' ...that list is doing my head in ...๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ Methinks you forgot the clue(s) ...
  10. This book might help DD But I reckon @WalkingCivilWar will win a War of Words anytime, anywhere, anyone. Good luck!!
  11. Reckon Jaded had others in her sights...who shall remain nameless ๐Ÿค
  12. Hmmm...in my mind's eye I've always thought of 'Luci' pronounced as Luchi...must be the Italian language influence... Whatever the pronunciation I'm very fond of the endearment! Yep, there are precious few Sheilas on this site so we need to stick together!!
  13. hmmm... first a 'dobber' now an 'ingratiator'... a slippery slope in the making...!! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Just joking!!
  14. Having mixed feelings toward Luci๐Ÿ’šeh, ? But remember our motto: 'Sheilas Unite'!! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™ Btw, how would you pronounce 'Luci': Lucy or Luchi (exuse the odd spelling but it is the only way I can show the phonetics)
  15. Wasn't suggesting that. More about what else we could do with the picks we have left. eg my post above about using 11, 42 and F! to chase another top 10 pick eg GWS's pick 7 and take two top players. While I do not wish this on any player quite a few #1 players of the last decade or so have left before their time or suffered career limiting injuries: HWSNBN, Patton, Boyd, McCartin, Rowell (altho I hope he gets back to his elite best). Not many #1 picks have reached their full potential. So I stand by what I said a few weeks ago: I am not enamoured by the #1 pick even if it is Reid. I also think that our offer will fail even tho it is on paper the better offer. The north offer gives WCE a better chance of landing the players WCE are said to be targetting.
  16. This is no longer about picks and points. It is the opportunity cost of giving up picks 6, 14, 27, 35, 42 and F1 for one player.
  17. The article says: "Under the Kangaroosโ€™ offer, they were getting extra value equivalent to pick 23, while under the Demonsโ€™ offer (if they were to finish fourth again next year), they were getting extra value equivalent to pick 8." Our offer differential is better than equivalent pick 8 when the full trade value of 11 is factored in. Fully trust JT et al but...
  18. Andy, I see that you have special rights when calling someone an idiiot and able to bypass the censor... I guess I should be grateful you let me off the hook, this time....๐Ÿ™„ Edit: LOL the censor even works in quoted posts!!! But only for the singular!!!
  19. I would prefer we keep 6 and use 11, 42 and F1 to get another top 10 pick and get two top 10 players than go all out for Reid. GWS's pick 7 would be a good target (+/- other picks) as they also have 16 so a decent hand to swap or take to the draft.
  20. An [censored] to have Oliver at #30 for 2024!!! Ok 2023 has been a bad year for him but scribes write him off at their peril and have massive egg on face next year!! Edit: Seriously!!! Idiiot is censored!!! What is the world coming to!!! I'm putting in this edit just in case readers think I used a really bad word...
  21. The way things look right now I'll be happy to just win a final!! But I'm sure that by the time the season starts I'll be expecting and believing in a demon flag!
  22. I was thinking he would go in the 25 to 30 range but yeah maybe higher now. Have WCE 'snookered' themselves? They take Reid with pick 1 and probably miss out on both Curtin and Collard. Or they cash in pick 1 with North for 2 or 3 (Curtin) and a late 1st round (Collard) and possibly pay overs for both. Or take our offer and risk missing Curtin at pick 6 and maybe missing Collard as well. WCE will need to do some nifty pick trading with more than one club if they hope to get both players.
  23. Especially when pick 11 cost us 14, 27 and 35 generally thought as us paying overs. So the offer is really 6, 14, 27, 35, 42 and F1 ie 3 first round picks plus 3 second round picks Crazy stuff!!
  24. This will make WCE decision on picks for ND1 interesting. 2023-lance-collard-fremantle-west-coast-eagles "Fremantle has interest in exciting WA forward prospect Lance Collard, to the point where West Coast is considering trading ahead of the Dockers to ensure it still lands its Next Generation... ...Collard, who grew up a Fremantle supporter, is tied to the Eagles via their Next Generation Academy. Yet West Coast can only match a bid on him if it lands outside the top 40 picks โ€” and it now seems highly unlikely Collard will slip past the top 40. The Dockers hold Picks 34, 46. 60, 64 and 81 in this yearโ€˜s draft, while the Eagles have Picks 1, 23, 37, 58 and 85" How far ahead of Freo will WCE have to jump to get Collard, especially as Freo have a fist full of extra 2024 first round picks they can use to keep leap frogging WCE? We don't have a pick in the 25 to 30 range to offer WCE as part of an ND 1 package We could get one via another club but it is getting harder to see how we can get ND1. WCE might now be interested in one or more of those late first round picks North previously offered.
