  1. We beat that vs Hawks at a similar time on Saturday there were 39,818 where apparently we outnumbered Hawks fans despite they having a membership of about 100,000 members. Home game to both clubs.
  2. They've won a few games but I still reckon we will get pick 5 to 7. Currently it is 7. Richmond will most likely rise above them and Sydney might also. It is possible one or more of Ess, Carl and GCS will drop below them...doubt all three will. A lot of tough and 8-pt games coming up for them So we can stay optimistic on pick 5-7.
  3. Apologies for not replying earlier - I have been interstate and took a mini break from DL. See the post below from FTB for a possible reason for the Ticketek message. The membership number should appear in your membership account. Login via mfc website and go to the 'Membership Details' page. If number isn't there call or email the club. I've had good responses from them. For Ticketek you willl need the 12 digit barcode number which is also on the 'Membership Details' of your account.
  4. Egged on by the commentary! Also, I think as a team we are rising up the 'most hated' ranks. A badge of honour!
  5. It could be 17 wins as there is an extra game this year. But given the gap between the top 4 and the next 4, 16 wins and % wil probably do it.
  6. Had a quick look at bf. 70% of posts were complaining about the umpiring. 30% rightly proud of the team and optimism for the rest of the season. The big surprise was the high number of Opps team posters who butted in to say 'GCS were robbed' or similar. Opps fans rarely post on pre and post threads. Offenders were from Lions, Tigers, Ess and Saints. Guess that says it all!! Giving the mood, no-one would have been game to say the dees also got a raw deal and GCS were gifted some easy goals. The next few installments of WTAS@ will be brought to you by @Queanbeyan Demon Enjoy!
  7. If JvR is suspended so be it; he'll learn. He needs a rest anyway. That aside, love his aggression at the ball and his own argie-bargie reaction to all the attention he is getting behind play. Fearless and takes no nonsense. Rapidly rising to be an =+1 favourite!!
  8. I have a simple explanation for so many of our players being flat: 3 interstate games in the first 5. Followed with 3 games in 12 days including another flight. An eye on another interstate game vs Port in 2 weeks. That workload takes a big toll on players with niggles and AFL level newbies like: McVee, JvR, and Chandler. And maybe our imported players (Hunter and Grundy) wouldn't be used to that workload nor yet conditioned to our standards. The season is a marathon. We only need to ride out this tough patch through to the Port game, take the 4 points as often as we can and get ready to consolidate our season with most games thereafter being in Melbourne. After the workload so far we are in an outstanding position in the top 4 with an excellent % No need for all the stress in this thread.
  9. Had a quick look at the draw for other top 8 contenders, Teams each plays twice: Adelaide: Brisbane, Collingwood, Gold Coast, GWS, Port Adelaide, West Coast Carlton: Collingwood, Gold Coast, GWS, Melbourne, St Kilda, West Coast Essendon: Collingwood, Geelong, GWS, North Melbourne, Port Adelaide, West Coast Port Adelaide: Adelaide, Collingwood, Essendon, Geelong, Richmond, Western Bulldogs St Kilda: Brisbane, Carlton, Gold Coast, Hawthorn, North Melbourne, Richmond Sydney: Fremantle, Geelong, Gold Coast, GWS, Melbourne, Richmond Western Bulldogs: Fremantle, Geelong, Hawthorn, GWS, Port Adelaide, Richmond Similar to Geelong, Brisbane and Collingwood, those teams will have more 8-point games than Dees (and Saints) and their potential for big % boosts won't be as plentiful. Short of major injuries or some other disaster I can't see us not making the top 4. I'm ok with top 4 especially as the other teams are likely to be Vic teams so our finals will be at the G - as long as we don't get an Away game vs Brisbane.
  10. We have a potential advantage over the top 4 sides as the fixture Gods have smiled on us this year; last year they smiled on Geelong. We play 3 of the current bottom 4 sides twice: Richmond, North and Hawks with 4 of those games yet to be played. Brisbane, Geelong and Collingwood do not play any of them twice!! Teams played twice: Brisbane: Adelaide, Collingwood, Fremantle, Gold Coast, Melbourne, St Kilda Collingwood: Adelaide, Brisbane, Carlton, Essendon, Geelong, Port Adelaide Geelong: Collingwood, Essendon, Fremantle, Port Adelaide, Sydney, Western Bulldogs Melbourne: Brisbane, Carlton, Hawthorn, North Melbourne, Richmond, Sydney There are no easy games as we learnt last night. Never fear D'landers we will be top 2!!
  11. Looks like Richmond are playing in an empty MCG. Last week they had the excuse the game was at Marvel. This week no excuse at all. 100,000+ members. More microwaved membership cards. Or deleted Richmond FC app!!
  12. What is it with disposal coffee cups among finer glassware!😮 I'm sure it is for the host but does P&O not have proper cups!
  13. That's a bit harsh...😢 And, who is this mystery supporter...?
  14. Not sure I get that🤔 Is Aramanga supposed to be an anagram of 'anagram'? Aramanga has one too many A's to be an anagram of 'anagram'.
  15. OK...Is this a trick question...? i'll humour you anyway: local catholic primary school and local high school. ...I could never do the daily The Age cryptic crossword if I didn't find the anagrams first.🙂
  16. Did someone say a ferry will be required to get to the new stadium? If so, I hope it is very big ferry! Or it will be a very long wait... tbh, waiting for a ferry would put me off going - getting thru the Richmond station turnstiles after a game is bad enough!
  17. Carlton are largely a group of talented players or high priced trades (and except for Saad the trades are not living up to the hype nor their price tag. The whole team is pretty much playing their own game and leave the hard work to others. They lack cohesion and don't understand the meaning of teamwork or selfless play. If they get their act together ie work harder defensively and work for each other, they can be a good team. Right now, too many have had it too easy for too long.
  18. No way was WCW missing that early morning flight to GC; just for a few hours sleep. In the lady's own words: 'Sleep is overrated'!!
  19. I assume this refers to the thread title rather than its author😐 The author's personality and mind are just fine, thank you 🙂(altho noting the time spent on DL might prompt some to question the good sense of said author...) Fair call! The path of this WTAS title: It started off as @ Metricon as I couldn't remember where they are located. A moderator rightly changed it to @ Heritage Bank as that is the stadium's new sponsor. The author (moi) wasn't fond of that title so I searched out the location and changed it to @ Carrara, 'overuling' the mod.😟 On reading their fan bf page they have nicknamed the stadium 'The Bank' which I like. Must confess it was with some trepidation that I 'overruled' a very senior mod by changing the 'Heritage Bank' title but I don't have a 'warning' so all is good.🙃
  20. The censored word referring to May isn't as bad as it looks. The censored word is an anagram of carp!! Hardly offensive, right? Methinks our censor meter has a virus of some sort...🙄
  21. I'm shocked that you doubted me!!😉😆
  22. I think it is only the Indigenous rounds; we didn't wear it to Alice last year. But I wish we did wear it there every year and wish we played in Alice during the Indigenous round - it would be so fitting.
  23. A very funny flashback on building a stadium: abc-comedys-eerie-tassie-team-prediction In a nutshell: “But those negatives are far outweighed by the positives … although I don’t have any right now,”
  24. A spark of optimism but they aren't too keen on selections. Witts playing his 150th in this game has me feeling more optimistic because I know how revered he is within the four walls. The boys got up for Swallow's 200th against Geelong earlier this year. Can lightning strike twice? No Weller :( surprised Berry got a gig. Dew really giving everyone a chance this year Is there a more inexperienced forward line in the comp? Are you suggesting that we will be missing scoring machines Holman and Ainsworth - 2 goals combined per game? Well, we’ve replaced them with Berry and Flanders. Not sure they goal power potency is any higher, but I’m hoping. Berry in particular is fighting for a spot. This is his chance. This could get ugly. christ Sadly gone from a slight chance to no chance. Smacks of resting guys to focus on the next 4 games. Not sure I like the concept. Belay that. I’m sure I don’t like it Berry brings the pressure like Holman but that's it. His disposal is terrible. Not optimistic about him. May actually played like a [censored] most weeks so far. That only means he will bring his best against us. Berry is nothing special in vfl and the vfl opposition has been woeful. Still not seeing anything to get excited about with Flanders but hey here's their chance to shine, hopefully they do well. My Favourite: Close to an all time favourite; it had me roaring with laughter: As far as Chol is concerned has been asleep longer than Rip Van Winkle and doubt May and Lever let him wake up this week. Dees by 4 goals!!
