  1. I've only been back less than 48 hours so I may be missing something as to why Coll is seen to be an easier QF than Port or Lions. I noticed they lost a few games recently but they will have Moore, Murphy and McCleery back. They rested Elliot for half the game last night, Sidebottom played in 2nd gear and everyone will have two days extra rest than us. If we play Coll and lose we are facing a game each week to the GF and an away PF. I'd rather an away QF than an away PF. Now that the Lions have won, I'm hoping for a Port loss tomorrow.
  2. It will be a sell out regardless of which night it is played.
  3. 👏👏👏 Snap!!
  4. Maybe North have been told that if they have ND1 they won't get ND2 for McKay and they have decided to not tank and will end up with ND2 and ND3 as well as Sanders who is a top 10 draftee.
  5. It isn't a 'manufactured' shorter turnaround per se. The turnaround will always be two days diff for a Coll/Dees QF regardless of when it is played. It is the round 24 schedule that creates the diff which is why I'm disappointed we play tomorrow and not today.
  6. Crikey ds, not sure why you would be surprised...we all know that the AFL pulls out its 'special herbs and spices' whenever it suits them
  7. The point was the AFL consults the top club and it has privileges. I believe last year Geelong chose the Saturday night as it would help more of its members get to the game vs a Fri or Thur night.
  8. Not a written one but it has been the practice in the last few years where the AFL 'consults' the top team eg In 2021 we had the choice of where to play the QF - part of the privilege of finishing top. We chose AO even tho the next game would be in Perth and may have reduced travel time. If we have a concussion we may be able to lobby the AFL for a Fri or Sat night game. Coll will choose what is best for them and their members so I'm hoping we don't finish 4th. I would rather an away QF where we have a better chance of winning than an away PF where we start behind the 8 ball with a short 'bye' pre the QF and weekly games thereafter.
  9. Yes, Coll. As the top team they choose when the game is held after AFL 'consultation'. Ditto whoever finishes 2nd, altho less of a say, which is why the Petracca non goal hurts us - we should be second and have that right.
  10. A concussion isn't necessarily the main issue. I was hoping we didn't play Syd on a Sunday. When I saw the round 24 fixture I thought it would hurt us as our most likely opp (Coll) would get an extra two days rest and they would always choose the Thrusday night to drive home that advantage greatly reducing our chances of winning the QF. So I'm hoping that Lions or Port lose this weekend giving a fairer break for both teams especially vs Port. I have no fear of playing at the Gabba or AO and winning!!
  11. I'm back @DeeZone Updated for Woewodin and Schache for @old55
  12. Ok. Time for teams and football so I'll take my leave of this thread and DL for the rest of my holiday. Folks get the decor out to paint the town red and blue as our 14th flag beckons!!
  13. Some Bansky street art to ponder:
  14. I do! He is next on my list. Along with walking the 'Street Art Trail'.
  15. Exhibition was next level awesome! Love how he juxtaposes images to make the viewer smile, laugh, ponder or be shocked.
  16. Incorrigible !!!!!!!!
  17. I'm a peaceful negotiator...well most of the time!
  18. Thank you. Glasgow is new for me so seeking out its quirky spots. And its the easiest way to get to the wedding in Ayrshire. For a decent whisky you may need to visit Scotland!🙂
  19. Haha, youve had lots of appreciative plaudits from posters. 😀 'As for 'Jetsetting'. It is very unglamorous when a booking stuff up with time zones/dates results in missing an overnight stopover thus 40+ hours en route from my home to hotel in Glasgow. Then add lost luggage...which thankfully arrived a day later... ...as for icy Melb, midsummer Glasgow is damp and overcast just like midwinter Melb. On the bright side off to a Banksy exhibition shortly. I'm guessing most d'landers will need google for that one! Then shall enjoy travelling around Scotland for 3 weeks including a special young man's wedding, followed by a few days in Amsterdam.
  20. LOL!! it isn't even noon here! ....um...why should i be giving the shiraz... ....I graciously complimented him on his fine work...surely that is enough... Btw...compliments that are yet to be acknowledge...surely a reason for the shiraz to come to me, no?
  21. I assume you mean a fine shiraz from The Manor's cellar to my good self, yeah?
  22. Yeah, just saw that his op has 32 +'ve reactions which i suppose is a reasonable tally; for a sub... ...i suspect he is feeling most pleased with himself... LOL! Given last week's loud protests to volunteer for this gig, i was shocked, shocked to see it was @Bitter but optimisticwho started the thread!! Some negotiations may need to be had when i return...🙃
  23. A very impressive debut! To return your compliments on these threads: love your work!
  24. This is the bf thread from which the op was taken. round-20-v-melbourne. Starting at page 3, for those who would like to amuse themselves or update this thread in the coming days.
  25. It is the worst I've come across by some margin...and the op was just from the first two pages!!
